    Taking my exam tomorrow! This video helped me a lot. In my classes, I always write as creatively as possible (as a person in the creatives field). I'll definitely write simpler and straighter to the point tomorrow. I'll make it just like you did. Let's go! ~

      안녕하세요! 성균관대학교 23학번 의대생 (석사 과정) 최아야 입니당! Update: I aced it! Almost a level 6 but was shy of a little points. I am now doing my med major in SKKU.
      My biggest tip to you is that, apart from learning how the test "works", try to learn Hanja. My Japanese friend suggested it to me and I found it more convenient than just plainly memorizing everything. It works such as that when I see words, I get a feeling of what its meaning is although I do not exactly know -- word-per-word -- what it truly meant. By reading the entire sentence or passage, I could figure out easily what a certain word or what an entire write-up was about. And although I started learning this through my daily conversations, I had no problems when I tried to apply it to the writing and reading part of the test. Practice makes perfect!
      Good luck to everyone! Thanks for the video, too, Evan! Helped me be at ease before the test and develop a strategy to manage my time properly. ~

    이완 씨 , 안녕하세요.
    I am very inspired by your story of getting level 5 in TOPIK in the first attempt and i aspire to do the same for myself. However, i don't have any significant TOPIK training in my home country. But, i don't want this fact to hinder myself from learning the language. Hence, I REQUEST YOU TO RECOMMEND THE RESOURCES YOU USED FOR YOURSELF, SPECIFIED FOR TOPIK EXAM.
    I will be very grateful for your help.
    Thank you for reading this,

      Yeah I know what you mean! Try not to worry too much about it - learning, then forgetting and relearning is all part of the process, and you learn things better every time you forget them (sounds weird but it's true). If you're stuck for what to do, honestly the best thing you can do for your Korean is to just sit down and read something. Look up enough words that you understand the gist, and actively notice everything you can about the grammar of the sentences. Anyway good luck with the test!

I would like to ask that if there are some topics that can be asked or repeatedly asked in examination please let us all know. Because it's always a big question that what kind of things should be prepared for the writing section... So, if you could help with that... That will be a great help for everyone... Please help... I just learn korean for 8 months, and my teacher suggest me to take the topik 2 exam this year on october. Well actually it's scared me and i almost give up because i know my ability plus i don't have wide vocabulary.
    Do you have any suggestion, how to improve my vocabulary? Thanks

    • @Ewan_Smith
      @Ewan_Smith  2 года назад +2

      Don't worry! It's a hard test for everybody, and building your vocabulary is the main challenge in my opinion. The best way to expand your vocabulary is to absorb as much Korean as possible especially through reading. Read about lots of different topics and note down the unknown words. Then maybe a few days later, you can read the same text again and see if you remember some of them. This way you encounter new words in context and they stick in your brain better than just looking at word lists. Hope this helps!

    I have a question for you, need i a teacher to learn Korean or is self-study more useful?

    • @Ewan_Smith
      @Ewan_Smith  Год назад +2

      For me personally, self-study is the most useful, but it is really good to have a native speaker who you can ask questions and practice with. I never expect somebody else to teach me the language, I have to actively learn it and the teacher is a resource like any other

    Are there patterns I can memorize for question 53? as pdf or smt?

    • @Ewan_Smith
      @Ewan_Smith  Год назад +5

      I don't have any list of patterns prepared but here are a couple of sentences you could use to describe a graph. You can replace the words and numbers to fit other questions:
      - (50대 성인 남녀)를 대상으로 ______에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다.
      An opinion poll of (men and women in their 50's) was conducted regarding ______.
      - 조사 결과 남자의 경우 ____가 57%로 가장 높게 나타났다.
      According to the results, among men ____ was the most common at 57%.
      - '____'라고 응답한 남자는 60%, 여자는 70%였다.
      60% of men and 70% of women responded '___'.
      - 2020년에 5만 개였던 중소기업이 2022년 8만 개로 꾸준히 증가하였다.
      The number of small businesses, which was 50,000 in 2020, increased steadily to 80,000 in 2022.
      - 2019년 전체 학생 수의 30%였던 동아리 활동을 하는학생의 비율은 2021년에 25%로 감소하였다.
      The percentage of students who are in a club, which was 30% of the total number of students in 2019, fell to 25% in 2021.
      - 이러한 증가/감소의 원인은 다음과 같다.
      The reasons for this increase/decrease are as follows.

    지나가 도. Can this also be correct or not for 52 ㄴ????

    • @Ewan_Smith
      @Ewan_Smith  Год назад +2

      So -야 means 'only if' and -도 means 'even if'. Basically 지나가도 would mean that the preceeding clause has no impact on the following clause.
      In this question, it's saying that only if a long time passes, can we know of the star's death. Using 지나가도 would mean that even if a long time passes, you still CAN'T know of the star's death (... 지나가도 알수 없다) but this doesn't fit with the rest of the text as well
