  • One reason professionals and families give for not using AAC is that their student/patient/child speaks. If someone speaks, why would we use an AAC device? This little conversation shows how we use AAC to support conversation by decreasing the field of possible messages to simplify the child's options for an appropriate response. A little scaffolding with visual language (AAC) allows our patients to experience successful, sustained interactions! Our end goal is that this experience leads to natural, unaided conversations in the future!
