- Hellloo friends!! We have made it to state #25!! In this episode, we explore my favorite road of all time- Route 66. I grew up traveling along this road with my Dad so it is near and dear to my heart. We spend the day eating, sight seeing, and exploring an abandoned home.
Places visited:
Route 66 Cafe at the Market- Clinton, OK
Robert's Grill- El Reno, OK
Pops 66- Arcadia, OK
As always, thankyou so much for watching and I'll see y'all in a few days for Oklahoma pt. 2! :)
P.S. HAPPY FREAKIN’ NEW YEAR!!!! 🎉🥂
My son died in 2011 at 25 years old. He was a nurse and wanted to be a travel nurse to see the country. I plan to do it for him in a year. Thanks for the inspiration. Tears are gifts of love.
I’m so so sorry to hear this. That’s devastating 💔 hugs to you
Thanks for sharing.. My dad had a Texaco station in Arkansas and I worked there from age 12 to 23. I pumped gas, did oil changes, tire repair and changes, minor tune ups and yes cleaned the bathrooms. It's was the best education in how to treat people and see who my dad was.. From 1963-1974 were some of the best years of my life. Im glad your dad taught you well. We will love our dad's forever.
What a beautiful tribute to your Father.
Thank you so much! 💛
I'd love to drive Route 66, all the quirky signs/art, old diners and gas stations, so cool. So sorry about your dad. He clearly instilled a strong sense of adventure in you, which you're passing onto your ever growing number of subscribers. I'm sure he would be incredibly proud :)
He was so blessed to have a little girl like you. I bet he is so proud of you every day. Because you seem to treat people with kindness and respect.
Dear Gina, the second I saw you crying I started Crying because I realize you are re-visiting special spots that you went with your Dad. That is so courageous of you to keep facing your Grief not having him with you now. Happy New Year 2025💕
Thankyou 💖 happy new year to you too! 😊🎉
Howdy Gins! Catching up girl! Only you would see that Breaking Bad Methmobile! Lol😂…thanks forever!
Bless your sweet little heart! Memories are proof that we were here and mattered. As a Dad, I know your Dad is happy and proud of you!
Howdy again Gina..that picnic table triggered strong memories n emotions..thanks for sharing such a simple event that has stayed with you and will forever!
Tears just mean you had love in your life, and that's awesome! Waaaay more awesome than a blue cheese soda 😂
❤ 🙏
Your father is very proud of you, I'm sure of it! Take it from an older man with a daughter. He's smiling down on you! 90% of being a dad is just showing up! ❤❤❤
Never be afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve!
♥️
Showing us your emotions and vulnerability is very endearing Gina. This is exactly why I keep watching this channel! Just simply you being you is invaluable and I appreciate you! You're making a difference in a way that only you are capable of. Love you to the moon and back sunshine!
This comment made me smile and feel good inside. Thankyou for that 💛
Crying with you, Gina.
I lost my Dad 22 yrs ago & I can relate to your emotions.
You KNOW your Dad enjoys these trips he's taking with you.
Your strengths keep you strong because you are your Dad's daughter. We all love ya, girl! ❤
So sweet, thankyou!! ♥️
Girl, big virtual hug! He's with you in spirit. Loved your video. Happy New Year. 💜
Thankyou girl! 💖 Happy New Year to you as well! 🎉🤗
I lost my first wife, Mana, after 21 years together back on the 29th of this present month, back in 2013...we shared many adventures together, including a drive on Route 66...naturally, when you started criying & missing your Dad, I started crying & missing Mana...I've shed so many tears over the years, especially that first, really tough year after she passed...you have a big heart ❤ & I'm glad you're making these videos...some have some sad & tender moments of reflection, & that's a good & healthy thing, in my opinion...Safe travels 😊
@@aitutaki50 thankyou! 🧡🙏
Hi, sweet Gina!
I'm really glad to come across your channel, baby girl! You are sweet, charismatic, adventurous, kind, respectful, and considerate. You inspire me to consider to get out of my cave and see the sun again. Also, you remind me of one of my biggest regrets, which is not having taken my daughter out in nature.
It is very satisfying seen someone your age honoring a passed loved one. We know for certain that one day we are all going to be gone, but our memories and energies will stay. Another way for you to honor your dad is to live your best life, caring for your safety, your health, and your happiness (well-being). That is what we, parents, live for and by, for our children.
Live with that in mind and you will be honoring your dad and making him really happy, and yourself as well.
Here is one of my favorite quotes and I hope you like it as well:
"You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending."
By C.S. Lewis
Whatever you do, please ALWAYS prioritize your safety, your health, and your happiness! Everything else is manageable!
P.S. we, your subscribers, will be here to hear what you have to say, and appreciate your time, thoughts, ideas, and experiences that you gracefully share with us.
Pops
What a very sweet and thoughtful comment. Thankyou 💛
Pops u are so right...we are always here for you Gina.. you give us so much....we love you! ❤
As a dad I took my son on an epic adventure I must say as a dad, I will cherish the memories from that trip until my last breath. I guess what I’m saying is although you loved your adventures with your dad, he loved it more. Keep traveling girl.
Crying sad and happy tears through this one. I'll never see route 66 and not think of you and your pops. 💖
Hi Gina -- I rarely comment on RUclips videos. This one came across my feed and I watched it while eating lunch. When you got emotional about your dad it caught me by surprise. I'm glad I was alone in my living room. You moved me. I felt your loss. As a father of two boys (now grown men 32 and 27 years old) your words about your father touched me deep in my soul. Thank you! My youngest son is a Biological Engineer from Austin, but has spent the last 2.5 years traveling abroad by himself. He spent 18 months all through South America climbing and hiking and now is working his way through New Zealand. He will join the Peace Corp as an engineer in the Philippines this summer. You remind me of him and your videos makes me miss him even more. My wife and I will join him in New Zealand in March. I look forward to watching more of your travel videos. We're from Norman, Oklahoma and, since retiring from teaching, we travel constantly in the US, Canada, and Mexico. On the road 15 of the last 20 months. We get it. Nothing better than a waiting adventure. Keep your positive adventurous attitude and stay safe. You have a lot of fans who care about you. I know your dad is still with you everyday. He lives on through your journey.
You Sweetheart, are so wonderful traveling around and remembering all the places you and your Daddy went to. I'm sure your Daddy would be very proud of you!
Wow p😊owerful moment you had their...you brought tears to my face bringing back memories i had too. You are blessed that you had a father❤ that took time to share so many great times with you. His spirit rocks on with you and always will!!!

You made me cry, smile, and laugh. All in the same video. Thanks! Great video!
Awesome thankyou!! :)
Aww Gina those are beautiful tears 😭 the precious time you spent together your father has given you these memories to carry you through life when you talk about him your eyes 👀 tells us how happy he has touched your soul it touches our hearts ♥ to hear you share theses memories on your channel …..I too miss my father too🫶♥
🧡💖
I used to spend many nights, with one friend, in our favorite restaurant. Since she passed, I haven't found the courage to go back there. I feel like I would just cry the whole time. Much love, Gina. ❤️
It is definitely hard, but it feels special to revisit the memory for me. And I’m so sorry for your loss girl :( 💔
My Wife and I love traveling along with you.....we've also watched your videos where you open up about the trauma you've gone through; I know it's gotta be helping others. Thanks for sharing the memories. Hugs from Georgia 😊.
Georgia!! Yay!! 🍑 thankyall for watching 😊
Finding gratefulness in your heart in the midst of such grief is a sign of such strength, all while being so vulnerable…😢Praying for your continual healing❤

Regarding the response after a sip of Blue Cheese Soda: Thank's, Gina, for my first loud laugh of the day! I was hoping it wouldn't be as bad as it sounds, but...the things you do/record for us ("Oh God. I'm gonna try it again"). 'Love the creative drone usage and those old photos at the end.
Awesome thankyou so much!! Glad yall are enjoying it!! 😁😁
Hi Gina, That was sooo good, when you cry, I cry, can't help it. You are so right, I was a single dad with a daughter, and I worked all the time and I do regret it. My daughter, my grandkids and I all live together now, wouldn't change anything right now. Thank you for these vlogs, you are a special person, thank you for being you. See ya next time.😊
You’re very sweet! Thankyou! :)
I'm 54 years old,and my dad never did stuff like this. NEVER. HE is gone now.... ty for sharing this moment
Compelling!!! I learned the difference between grieving and mourning after my most recent round of losses. Experiencing grief is passive in that it happens to us and we go through it. Mourning is our creative participation in the process. Its active and we find agency while honoring those we lost and miss. Keep honoring your Dad and the profound nature of your relationship. Very moving and relatable. Thanks and godspeed!!!
🙏💙✌️
I felt this with my whole heart 😢.. .I recently lost both of my parents 16 months apart. I've accepted that you never "get over it" You just learn that our time is limited. ALL of US. I've been changing how i go about spending time with my kids the last few weeks....I'm just trying to enjoy the moments more and do more with them. Then I seen this video.... Really makes it sink in.....to all the parents who are gone....Thank You, We will love you FOREVER..... RIP.💔😢...... ❤️❤️❤️ Gina
I’m sorry to hear of your recent losses
:( ❤️🩹
Your memories of your dad are beautiful, thank you for sharing them with us.
Thankyou 🩵
The faces you made when you tried the blue cheese soda cracked me up! Love your videos!
Haha thankyou! That was truly the most repulsive thing I’ve ever drank in my life lol so bad
Haha thankyou! That was truly the most repulsive thing I’ve ever drank in my life lol so bad
Thanks for sharing. I get to spend time with my Daughter every summer fly fishing in Colorado. Its just she and I tent camping in the mountains. I cherish those times and I know your Dad did to.
In a time when everything is so curated, edited and sanitized your presentation stands out as a beacon of what it means to be human. your emotional range of this video made me feel like I was right there with you. From the lows to the highs and the ultimate "yuck" factor of the soda.....just the best Gina! The way you process and let yourself experience your emotional reactions is priceless and should be a lesson to all. I'm really enjoying virtually traveling with you...cant wait for the next adventure. Thanks!
@@seanheller6201 thankyou so much for this super kind comment!! It means a lot to me 🥰

Aww 🥰 babygirl, I know you must miss Dad so much, but I'll tell you, your dad would be so so proud of you right now, and I'm sure it's looking down I'm having just amazed at the young woman he has created! I'm a dad come and win the time comes then I have to leave I hope my two kids feel the same as you do, it's so touching to see Gina... That feeling will never go away but it might get a little easier as time goes by! We love you baby girl ❤🥰
First & foremost, I’m so incredibly sorry for the loss of your father. Time most definitely does heal wounds but the memories are with us forever thankfully. Also thank you for sharing your travels with us, it’s a journey I myself would love to do. Keep up the incredible work, I’m sure your father would be very proud of the strong & independent woman you have become.
Thank you so much! 💚
As a father this shows how much he meant to you. We go on with these memories and know how to approach and appreciate future endeavors. These are symbols and reflections of special times with your Dad. Some people will say "Well be glad you had that" and I say it is ok to be selfish and want more! These times of reflection and memories are times of deep reflections that surfaced due to some spark that recalled that memory. Now it is your turn to create NEW memories as well! I know my girl revere their "Poppy" and hope I am in the same category as he is. Most people would not have the balls to do what you are doing and then documenting it. Keep pushing forward because this is the best therapy! Safe travels young lady.
Thank you for your kind words! 💙
Wow girl you had me nearly in tears talking about your daddy and busting a gut when you drank the blue cheese soda❤
Happy New Year to the brightest star on RUclips! Congrats to 10k subscriptions. On your way to 100k I really enjoy your videos!😊

Your Dad was with you in that diner Gina! I feel sure that he was so happy that you chose to stop there and have that burger. Your Dad is with you on this entire trip, and he is feeling proud that you have and relive these memories. You are loved Gina and he shows it back in these places. Thank you for sharing!
💙 🙏
It is understandable what you are feeling. I never had a dad but my Granddad and Grandmother always were there for me to do things with. Because my mom had to work all the time and go to school to get a better job to take care of us. I miss my Grand parents very much and you just cant replace those people in your life. Ditto for you trying to do your best to relive those great moments in your life. Thank God you had a father who really showed you love and caring all your life.
You're a sweetheart Gina, I wish I could have met someone like you when I was younger. I hope that you have a great New Year. 🎉🎊❤
Same to you!! 😁🎊
Oh my God young lady there is no one no other RUclipsr that can have me bawling my eyes out one minute and have me roll it on the floor laughing my butt off the next!! I'm so so glad I found your channel thank you for making my day with everything you post.. I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your father I too lost mine in 2002 the year before in 2001 when the doctor broke the news to us let my dad had one year left to live at most I looked at him and asked "okay Dad where would you like to go what would you like to do?" True to his form he wanted to go drive around his old stomping grounds in South Texas and I'm so so glad I took him he showed me all of his old haunts he used to hang around when he was a kid places he got in trouble when he was a kid lol
Those memories stayed with me although I haven't been back since they are firmly etched in the back of my mind and will be forever. Thank you for sharing that side of you with us please know that there are those of us who are with you that have that side as well.. so you are not now nor will you ever be alone... Best wishes and safe travels young lady and thank you once again..
HAPPY NEW YEAR Gina 🎉 bless your heart, i know you miss your dad 😢 stay safe 😊
Thankyou! Happy new years!! :) 🎉
congratulations on 10000
Thankyou so much!
I'd be lying if I said I didn't start crying with you. I think we will always miss those so close to us that we've lost. On a lighter note, your reaction to that blue cheese pop was exactly what I was expecting! That just sounded nasty and I can't even imagine what it tasted like. 😝
Drove the entirety of Route 66 with gal I was dating in Sept/Oct of 1996. Best 3-week vacation ever. Oklahoma my favorite of 8 states on 66. Visited with Lucille Hamons in Hydro one rain-soaked evening (car wash city!). She appeared very tired upon greeting, but gave of her time gracefully; wonderful woman! Good that her place has survived. Great video, Gina!❤

I lost my parents when I was young, it's never easy and sometimes feels impossible but the memories you are re-living on your travels keeps him around.
Now get out there and continue making him proud. Show everyone how you shine, 10k 🎉, you're taking em all to school.

Taking em to school 😂 that’s funny lol thankyou!! 😁
Thank you for sharing your journey and how much you miss your dad. As a dad, I hope that my daughter and I can share that same type of connection.
Gina, just think how special it is that through your travels and your stories, you are keeping your father's memory alive...not just for yourself, but for those of us who were not blessed to know him. But we can know of him and we can appreciate him because of you. That is very, very special.
♥️
you are a true inspiration and a total angel your heart and love compassion shines with joy your beautiful person just remember that
Thankyou :)
I love this channel, love the content. I drove from Baltimore to Daytona, back to Savanna GA, made a wrong turn, drove back to the FL welcome center, turned around and got back home in MD all in 50ish hours. it was the meal @0:36 that remined me of the only meal I had on that wild ride. It's awesome to see the country at a more normal pace.
Thankyou! 💚
I’ve crisscrossed the country on my Harley so many times with my daughter. Don’t think she really enjoyed all that much at the time.
That was vacation time and what we did.
Now she’s a Doctor with two boys, house, husband etc.
She called me the other day to tell me she needs a vacation. That it would be so cool if we could pack a change of clothes in the saddle bags and head West or South.
She’s a good kid
I love her.

Such a touching bookend to your “Letter to Charleston” episode

Just be so thankful for the time and memories you had with your Dad as so many fathers wish they had the kind of relationship ya'll had. Try not to get to down on what might have been but cherish what you did have as so many people wish they could have with their children what you had with your Dad.

I just found your channel recently and love your videos 💜 I know the pain of losing multiple loved ones as you have, humans and a beloved pet, and I know how it changes a person profoundly. And you are so young to experience all of that loss. But I sure appreciate seeing you out on the road and following your heart. Sending peace, light, and a big virtual hug your way 🤗
@@TCat13 you are so so sweet!! Thankyou!! 😊💖
Ok, so now I get it when you speak about your Dad. Good message to savor family times & travel. Much of my travel has been alone and from one eatery to the next with area absorbing stops. Almost commented after Arkansas with sarcasm after you went into the cave " hello momma bear here I am The Tiny Nomad with creme brule coffee & august omelette breath looking for a big hug"
Don’t work your life away. Wise words indeed. There are more important things in life than work. Do things, go places, experience life, and take others with you!
All your viewers wish we could give you a hug and tell you it's ok.
Crying helps but only time will get you through it. Not to forget your father but to reflect and celebrate the times you had with him.
Best reaction on the blue cheese soda. Yuck...and I love blue cheese

Thanks for sharing such personal moments.

I just discovered your channel yesterday when you went to Devils Den State Park just south of Fayetteville, Arkansas (where I live). That's one of my favorite places and I'm glad you enjoyed it and the food at the Mexican restaurant in Fort Smith. My nephew lives near Fort Smith so I will have to get him to take me there. Then I saw this video about your adventure on old Route 66 in Oklahoma. I'm at the 11:40 mark right now but had to stop for a sec and write you. I was born just south of 66 in Springfield, Missouri and one of my first memories with my Dad was riding with him in the semi truck he drove hauling gasoline in the early 1960's. I have an older brother and we took family vacation's every year but Dad used to make time to take just me with him on many little adventures growing up and I treasure each and every one of them. He died when I was 19 in February of 1981 so those trips are took together (not always in a truck bc he quit driving in 1965) are some of the best times of my life and like you I get emotional easily when I find myself somewhere we were together. My best friend since 3rd grade in 1969 and his Dad took a trip across 66 when he was young and like you and me it's one of his favorite memories. He lives in Dallas now but we have been trying to get together and do sections of 66 together in his SS Camaro. I didn't know about his trip with his Dad until 2021 and he didn't know about my trips with my Dad on the old 'Mother Road' until then either. I'm a songwriter musician and am making an album about our friendship, our shared love of 66 and our memories with our Dad's. We have a little RUclips channel where I do the music and he makes the videos and we are going to release our album called The Road sometime in 2025. I'm going to subscribe to your channel because you are so different from a lot of other girls I see who are only interested in getting attention about their looks etc. You are real and authentic and I am enjoying your documentary on your life, places you went with your Dad and the wisdom and zest for life you show. I'm truly sorry for your loss and believe me I understand. I would be proud to have you as my step daughter even if we never meet or speak. Good luck on your journeys. I will be watching. And I'm always here if you need a shoulder.
Thankyou for your kind words and for sharing a part of your story with me too ♥️🙏💖
If I ever have a daughter I hope she grows up to be just like you.
you missed Sapulpa, the crossroad of America in the heart of Route 66 :) LOL --- I just came across your channel today, you seem cool AF. I do some van camping and traveling and the last few videos are right in my hood, thanks!

Ok, so I was already in tears remembering times with my dad, then you started crying, and I started sobbing. I’ve tried to give my sons those memories together because I know what the little times with my dad mean to me now. You’re a tender hearted person to share that moment. Thank you.
From a dad's perspective, I can imagine how your dad must've felt about you in return. To have such a loving daughter is a man's greatest gift, IMHO.
My daughter and I spent a lot of time outdoors - a lot of rock hunting from early on! Walking in the forest near Portland, OR. Taking her to elementary school on my motorcycle helped her be even cooler than she already was. 😁
We've lived together on/off for 40 years. Currently raising some farm animals together.
I lost my nephew just prior to Christmas this year - he was only 50! Brilliant guy in almost every way.
I fear his good mother will not survive this loss. His father (my brother) is rotten squared.
Hope you have Happy New Year Gina! Safe travels ✌️
Thankyou! Happy new year to you too! 🎉
1. Can’t believe you bought that soda. 2. What’s wrong with you! But very entertaining for me watching you gag. 🤣😂
