    ALWAYS loosen the fill plug before even touching the drain plug. This is basic stuff and you should mention this.

    Hi a question what happened with the ford explorer ecoboost I just bought one and been seeing a lot of bad comments. How did this car turn out for you? Thank you, greetings.

    • @EverydayCars
      @EverydayCars  Год назад +1

      I had no issues with it up to 113k miles. But I put 20k miles a year on a car. So I decided to trade it in. As long as you do the maintenance on the Explorer PTU and transmission fluid you will be fine.

    I know nothing of e-cvts... does the DW1 fluid also act to cool the electric motors? Are there any passages on the case itself for coolant? If so, does it share coolant with the engine or is it a separate circuit? Thanks for the vid!!!!!

    • @EverydayCars
      @EverydayCars  Год назад +2

      The coolant circuit for the electronics is separate. With its own pump.

    Hi, I just changed my accord hybrid 2019 transmission fluid, filled it with the same amount. But it was making clicking sound every time I change from P to R,N, or D. I drove few blocks back and forth with no other symptoms, is it normal?

    • @EverydayCars

      Yes that is normal. I believe that is the solenoid shifting.

      If I don’t see any metal in my oil I will probably never change the filter. I am going to change the fluid at every 50k. These Ecvt are damn near bulletproof even if not maintained.

I replaced it with 2.3 quarts. .......the milage is 96,000 so itwas probably changed at 60,000 so it has been driven 30,000 with the overfill of transmission fluid....I hope it didnt damage anything

      There is no easy way to tell. I just put 2 quarts in and then 1/4 of the 3rd quart. If you put a little to much in it won’t hurt anything. If you Poot the entire 3rd quart in that’s way to much.

      @@jimmpsi you can, but with a drain hole, you know exactly... Exactly how much the oil level is. Measuring the oil that comes out and putting it back in the exact volume is trusting the last guy to do it right and I don't like it.

      You can but some people drive hybrids to save money. If you take it to a dealer they will probably charge you $250 to $350 to do this job. And it’s something easy to do yourself.

    The transmission hold way more than 2.5qt. Draining it only. Only gets the dirty oil from the sump. What I'll do is a drain and fill 2 or more time after driving it.

    • @EverydayCars
      @EverydayCars  Год назад +2

      This car only holds 2.5 quarts it’s an e-CVT a lot different than a CVT or traditional auto. My 2016 Explorer I could drain 4 quarts out the sump and I did what you do. Drive 500 - 1000 miles and did it again. Then another few thousand and did it again. This transmission literally hold 2.3 quarts.

    • @flex2flex640
