Thank you Penelope for reading my article. I hope it will be of interest to your viewers. I love seeing the children and that lovely restaurant. You took me there once and it was a wonderful experience. You look lovely in everything you wear so no worries about the jumper!
Penny, thank you for reading Ann's article. Very important message and also...what a good writer. Your jumper looks to me like a good fit, and love the stitch design. The great grand children ,what a treat, and all the other clips of scenery enjoyable.
Thanks Sandra, I tossed up whether to read the article as I felt it might upset some but like you felt it was important. I'm so pleased Ann wrote the article. It was published in the Irish Times. I have altered my jumper. I wasn't happy with the sleeves, will show you next time. Take care. xx
You're right, it was a lovely treat and finding the wool shop too. Hoping to see little George and Mila this week, the little ones always brighten my day. Take care. xx
Hi Pene. Hope you're well. Lovely jumper, looks really cosy. It's a lovely pattern, I'd definitely knit another one. Thank you for sharing your aunts breast cancer story. So important to spread the word. Awareness saves lives. Grandchildren joy, can't beat it. Ours are coming for a sleepover tomorrow. Got some sunflowers to plant up. X
Hi penny, just the most lovely video, i loved everything about it, your talking about your mum and the knitting in the photos, the great RESTURANT you went to,and the grandchildren,so happy little ones. So joyful altogether, thank you pamela hall
So glad you enjoyed the episode Pamela, You're going to watch us going into spring whilst you are going into Autumn. It must seem strange. I'm enjoying making the albums, I think it is helpful processing all my thoughts, thanks for sharing with me. Yes, the restaurant is my favourite. As soon as you walk through the door it feels so restful. Just what we need at times. See you next time. xx
Thanks, Pene - you kept me company in the kitchen this morning while I was busy! I love your latest jumper and it will look lovely in blue when you make a second one. I especially enjoyed your film at the end today - what an inviting yarn shop and the restaurant looked beautiful. And I always enjoy seeing how your small family members are getting on! xx
Thanks Helen, Glad to have kept you company. I have altered my jumper. I didn't think the sleeves sat quite right. I'll show you next episode, I'm happy with it now. Starting the shawl whilst watching snooker this weekend. I'm looking forward to revisiting the yarn shop and the restaurant is booked again with friends. See you in the morning if your podcast comes up as usual. xx
Lovely Pene, I'm glad we got you fixed up with the pattern, I'm really looking forward to seeing it in that beautiful yarn. Thank you for sharing Ann's article and thank you for helping to spread the word. I had no idea and now I do! Look after yourself Dawn 😘😘
I've started the shawl whilst watching snooker this weekend. I'm pleased you appreciated Ann's article, I feel the same, had no idea about the statistics. xx
Another super vlog Pen....love your jumper...beautiful pattern. Interesting story from Ireland and lovely to see all the great grandchildren happy and smiling...take care x x x 🥰
So lovely to catch up with you again Penelope. I watched your chinwag while I was doing some EPP and relaxing. I enjoyed listening to everything you had to share today, your jumper looks lovely and I can see how having the shoulders a little wider than you would like may seem too big but I think it looks lovely and will be comfortable to wear over a blouse and around the house. Little George is growing up so quickly and as my daughter has just had a baby boy I remember how it is only a couple of months and they become real characters. xx
Excellent podcast. Thank you so much for reading the article it was very helpful & informative. Loved your film & the pics of your beautiful garden. Regarding the butterfly experience I’m afraid I’d be like your daughter. I’m ok when they are flying free but not when I have to be amongst them in a butterfly house. The Helen Stewart shawl looks fabulous. Looking forward to seeing it progress. Like you I love her patterns. Glad Pete is doing ok, I could see him pottering in the garden in the reflection in the glass behind you, so nice to see. Take care both of you & have a lovely weekend. Oh and if you fancy doing one of your baking videos please do as I love those. Love Dianne x
Hi Dianne, I've started the shawl. Its a simple knit and I'm enjoying snooker whilst knitting. Pete is doing much better; he went for an xray yesterday and is on another course of antibiotics to try and get the inflammation gone. Seems to be working. He's not in pain now so all good. Hopefully some baking then this week. xx
Such a lot of variety in your great chinwag. When you explained the choices and thought you had put into every page of your photo books, I wondered if you had considered adding a letter explaining them ,tucked into a pocket at the back. A bit like Helen Stewart does a story with her knitting patterns. Glad to see you both well and out and about again. You certainly have had a lot happening in your family. X
What a great idea Jennifer, I'm going to do that. It wasn't till I was chatting about the pages with you that I realised what they meant! Take care. xx
Your jumper is gorgeous. What a lovely pattern and such s nice neutral color. I think the fit will be different depending on what you have on underneath. It doesn't look massive but if you do a smaller in blue, you might see how it feels over your dresses, before you make any adjustments on the beige one, if you really want to do that. I would imagine that most of your viewers have at least one family member, friend or other acquaintance who has had breast cancer, if not themselves. I have my annual mammogram in a couple weeks. I expect a clear report, but you never know. Helen Stewart's write up was indeed lovely. so true about trying to capture the sunset on camera. For me it is sunrise as we face east from our house. The photo never does it justice. Now I just enjoy it in real time. I always wonder about trying to capture the look in fabric though🤔. Thanks for sharing. The kids are adorable.😘
Thanks Karen, I have altered the jumper, when it's not quite right, it's not quite right and needs changing!! I'm happy with it now, will show you next time. I hope Ann's article has helped us in understanding the need to be aware, even in older age. I agree, a photo never captures it. It's the atmosphere that goes with it. Mmh a thought about the fabric. See you next time, so enjoy our chats.
That was so lovely. Your jumper looks great. And your garden and the children are so beautiful. Thanks for telling us about the cancer. I live in Dublin and I know the Mater hospital. People have great things to say about it. Your Anne was very brave and also very kind to share her experience. I wish her every good health going forward. I love your channel and am thrilled when I see a new episode.
Hi Penelope am a new to your podcast an enjoying your chat very much .your jumper is lovely it looks fine as it is to me but you know how you feel take care! X
I'm sure you will enjoy knitting it. I altered mine - just a touch at the top of the sleeves. I'll show you next time. I'm happy with it now. Take care and thanks for sharing. xx
I always enjoy watching your podcasts. I am the same age as you and have been married the same number of years. It’s nice to be with someone for so long. Thank you for sharing the breast cancer story, it’s always good to keep informed. The restaurant sounds delightful, as well as she you’re darling grandchildren
Thanks Sharen, It's lovely you appreciate the number of years together, a blessing I think. The restaurant is delightful. An oasis of peace and calm which we all need but is hard to find with wooden floors and speedy service nowadays! See you next time. xx
Dear sweet Penny, thanks for reading your friends article about her breast cancer journey. There is wonderful organization in the UK that is filled with many knitters who create FREE knitted knockers for mastectomy patients. Knitted knockers are soft beautiful knitted prosthetic breasts when put in a bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. Since my breast surgery I have knitted over 600 knockers and donated to the organization in the US. There are many knitters that make use of the free pattern on line to help women worldwide.
Thanks for all that info Astrid. I will mention it next time. 600 knockers is no mean feat and I'm so pleased you had a good outcome with your breast surgery. I see Ann messaged you a few months ago as her son lives not too far from you. Connections! Take care. xx
Your jumper is lovely. However if it bothers you every time you put it on, make another one. It will go fast as you already had a practice, I'll bet you'll be glad you did. 😊
Your new jumper does look fine; however, I do think that it does look a little too large on you and I think that your next one would suit you better. Ann’s outlook is so positive with humour added in too, and although her cancer was found through good luck, we all should pay attention to our bodies. Your great grandchildren are so very sweet and delightful what a happy ending to your video. Thank you for creating this, so much interesting content!
Thanks again Deborah, I hope the weather in Canada is getting warmer. I have altered the sweater and will show you next time. I'm happier with it now. I'm hoping Ann's article helps people realise that whatever our age we need to be vigilant. I know I needed the reminder. Take care. xx
Thank you Penelope for reading my article. I hope it will be of interest to your viewers. I love seeing the children and that lovely restaurant. You took me there once and it was a wonderful experience. You look lovely in everything you wear so no worries about the jumper!

That so true, what would we do without them! Even when Tommy has got every saucepan from my cupboard and banged them with a wooden spoon!!

Penelope love your jumper. And the Aran wool . Is it itchy ? This is my worry as my skin is very sensitive x
Hi Gillian, I don't find it itchy at all being very sensitive myself. For me it's so comfortable. xx
