Considering that mom's intense denial and party lifestyle, I honestly don't feel like the baby is safe with her.

Postpartum depression, psychosis, and other mental illnesses can be a response to trauma. Be real she's a child having a child. Tell me Birth isn't some otherworldly and dangerous shit.This was the first time pregnancy and its reality hit. I believe her denial is a response to fear. Yes I know we all have to grow up and take accountability yada yada, I'm just saying there's more. It's odd she won't take the meds to keep herself intact, yk after major sugery? Doesn't seem like a sound mind. She needs help and hope she gets it.

This 100%. It's an awful truth and neither doctors or nurses prepare parents with this information. Pregnancy, giving birth, and sleep issues after can cause very loving mothers to even kill their own children. The risk is greatly increased by having any extenuating circumstances like having pre-pregnacy medical conditions, a multiple baby pregnancy, diabetic pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, etc., and especially when a woman has pregnancies close together. It amazes me that society isn't more informed about how easily very bad psychosis can happen.
Stop giving people like this an excuse she knows exactly what's up

The white family was the typical nonsense we see on the Trish show but that young black woman was just weird. I think she was just a spoiled young woman who has gotten her way so long, she just didn’t know how the be an adult.

Failing to acknowledge the birth of a child is recognised as a possible symptom of post partum depression...its also perfectly possible she's completely aware its her child & just doesnt want a child. Either way, its her mum that will end up bringing the poor kid up.

Jamaya had preeclampsia that’s why she had a emergency c section , same thing happened to me last month I woke up and they showed me my baby and I was like who baby is that lol it just seemed unreal.

My aunt had postpartum depression for months. When she listened the baby cries she said it was a cat. It was so sad.

I don't know if I should be disgusted by that mother or feel bad for her. My daughters birth went almost exactly like this. I was not awake for her delivery and it was a c section due to preeclampsia (which is what this woman had). I have a biracial daughter who looked NOTHING like me with red hair and blue eyes. I never doubted her and even if I had who could deny a sweet baby of the love they deserve. But yet again that mother is likely traumatized. Giving birth in those conditions, waking up to a baby without having been awake is traumatizing. And if she isn't going through emotional turmoil over the belief her baby died or they way her baby was born then she needs a whole work up for mental health issues. Either way that baby deserves better. But her physicians should have clearly explained her labor to her afterwards so she knew the circumstances. She likely had to go under general anesthesia because of the scoliosis or just how fast they needed to get the baby out. Yes they do drug you with magnesium to keep you from seizing...if she was a nurse she would know that.
I believe that Jamaya was a guest on the Maury show in a past life.. Lol She flipped straight into the mindset of all those posable fathers.. Lol
I was thinking the same thing and thought she may have looked familiar. I believe she was on the Maury show as a wild teen a couple of years before this episode on Trisha aired.

What's scary is that the second case, the girl is going to be a nurse and take care of people. honestly, she needs to have an eval before they let her take care of people in any scenario. Sad but true.
When i gave birth to my second daughter i remembered nothing about the birth. The next Day i know i had a baby. So i know it is possible.
So if she had a c section doesn't she have a scar?

Postpartum Psychosis is a very real thing. A lot of you should look it up and learn before talking about her as a mother. They need to send her to a hospital or therapy. she has deep seeded issues that need to be addressed.

It's ridiculously easy to make a baby, but it's a whole other thing to actually be a parent. That girl NEEDS some very reliable birth control, because she clearly doesn't want to be a mother.
I really hope that baby got adopted to a family that will love her...but I have a feeling the parents will be spending their middleage running themselves into the ground bringing her up while trying to cope with their own medical issues..sad. Beautiful child.

Can we pay attention to grandma. This little girl didn’t want a baby. And grandma and baby father are forcing her to raise the baby. I see it so much. Parents forcing kids into raising kids cause they made a stupid mistake. Adoption exist. Break the cycle.

Jamaya and Mahari are on tiktok and seem to be thriving together. Mahari seems happy with her mom. She's a teenager or close to it now. This was a form of postpardum psychosis I think, and I'm sure Jamaya feels awful about the way she felt and acted when she wasn't in her right mind. I'm glad that it seems she got help and she appears to love her child.
I don't think it's nome of that mental stuff. I think she's a young woman who still wants no responsibility and playing that role got her a free year or 2. If you don't want kids be more careful or look into other options

Nah, she's going to learn just that getting pregnant and giving birth isn't sunshine, flowers, and rainbows. She's going to fully understand why a healthy proper birth is called the miracle of life. Her mother isn't the first to deal with this, and won't be the last. The whole pregnancy process is glorified by the public, to the point that people somehow aren't fully aware of all the negative things that can happen when a woman is pregnant. If anything, this just proves why better education is necessary for society, because people really don't know all these things

That's a 1st, I've never heard a mother deny her child before She's just making excuses , Why didn't she ask for a test when she was in the hospital after giving birth ? Sounds like she has disassociated identity disorder or a mental break of some kind. I don't think any mother in a healthy mental state, with a healthy pregnancy and labor/delivery is going to deny they gave birth to their own baby. I saw another mom on another talk show with an adult child they were denying they gave birth to and DNA determined it was theirs. To me, sounds like these mom's need mental health services.

So you’re telling me she remembers being nine months pregnant in the hospital being rushed to have a C-section because there was too much potassium in her urine but because she wasn’t awake during the birth, she doesn’t believe it’s her baby? After a C-section I’m pretty sure she has a scar. Like a father can deny a baby but a person that gave birth cannot. There’s no way she actually believe that child wasn’t for her and this is coming from a woman that has had two C-sections and I was sleep for both of them
