I love cooking while "[analog horror series] explained" videos are playing. This definitely was one of the best!! Thanks for highlighting some moments and replaying them, it's so helpful!!
Kinda gives me resident evil vibe, with the first part and start at a manor. Then the man-made ish type of monster/s attacking a city with abnormal abilities.
I actually rather like this story. Feels like the people are reacting in relatively normal ways and aren't up to anything malicious. The scientists are studying a new organism, without any particular motives of exploitation. The mayor worst decisions were spending money on snow plows because the town needs them, and telling the police to investigate a crime.
Yo can we talk about how amazing the sound design is? When Carl was in the basement and the dude yelled for help I actually jumped. It legit sounded like it was coming from the side.
Thank god for RUclips Recommended, man. Saw your video on Greylock, immediately subscribed, and I have to say, you deserve so many more subscribers. Keep up the good work!
My sister was born in 1983 on December 3, during the coldest winter, and one of our largest snowstorms at the time. So I get some giggles that this series not only is titled with my sisters birth year, but takes place in the state my Mom was born in, and one of her Brothers(my Uncle) still lives in Minnesota, a large portion of my Mom's extended famly still live in Minnesota. So the huge amount of snow wouldn't be surprising. It gets deep.
It is absolutely not a parody. This was meant to be taken seriously. Linkara (much like everyone else at channel awesome) just isn't a competent writer.

One minor accessibility/disability thing I noticed is that you have a bunch of multicolored flickering lights on the warning for flashing lights, which may not be the best place to have them, apologies if this is like not a necessary comment and someone else made it / you were already made aware of it! But I really do love your content
hey I'm sorry to disappoint you but you can literally buy a digital or physical copy of "Winter of 83" which contains "3 BRAND NEW SEGMENTS AND A DIRECTORS COMMENTARY" i apologize for the inconvenience
I made this post on one of the videos (Segment 12 to be precise) but figured to post it here mostly because it’s something of note I took notice of. (Mostly a bit of Rewatch Bonus/Fridge Brilliance) Signal hijackings as of late mentioned in segments 2 & 3, likely the creature testing it’s power, also the bad snowstorm (a few weeks back around when the creature first contacted the scientists) mentioned in Segment 3 while I’m not certain of how much influence the snowlem had, I am certain it did have some effect on it allowing it to discern how much it can do (and perhaps even send some of itself through it but I’m not 100% sure on that) and I mostly sure at some point it was able to send/transmit itself out of the lab where I like to say it had it’s first kill and allowed themself to figure that one out, which might’ve been Stephen (since he disappeared before the scientists died, and we see his car in Segment 1 before the snowlem escaped from the lab and also a body appeared afterwards) but ultimately nothing but guesswork towards that. And since as seen in the City Council Meetings we can say that the Snowlems had been keeping tabs on the channels so I can at the least say they kept tabs on the Weather Channels and once they had a prime optimal weather to spread itself and once the time arrived struck. Or in other words, if this was intended then it’s quite decent groundwork. Ultimately I liked the series, admittedly took awhile to actually look at it (whenever I watch these analog horror series it’s usually from a reaction looking away just digesting the audio, and I admit I can’t bring myself to look at segment 14 after the sirens go off) but I admit it was cool the visuals were nice (despite how it was relatively obvious it was on modern cameras) and the acting while as one put it felt more like an audio play than anything still was great (especially Denby’s actor) and admittedly while I made myself unfazed to the scares I can appreciate the effort put into them and the suspense building up to it. (With the fact I still haven’t seen Segment 14 in full saying the effect the Denby Snowman had) While perhaps in many aspects I can see why some have problems with it (the side bars in the city council meetings going a tad too tryhard to be scary/unnerving, the production being too clean for something supposed to be early 80s, and some of the early bits not being as captivating in hindsight) I not eactly someone who sweat the details. P.S. There’s a small thought to my mind that the things people didn’t like about the first few videos might’ve been intended on some level to be intentional, like to trick people (it was released on April 1st after all) into thinking it’s nothing impressive then WHAM! the latter half to come in and take things to a whole other level. (Though I might just be reading too much into that.)
If you like slender man and haven't already done it I'd recommend marble hornets its a bit old and there's alot of videos to look at but in the end in my opinion at least it's a really good horror story I didn't call it analog horror because I'm not sure if it fits that description but good luck man you're vids are great
