The distance from katie to the other swimmers is the difference of how much effort katie put in compared to the others. Even though it is a long distance event u can't be scared to burn out your energy. You have to leave it all in the pool.the worst that can happen is u get tired.its not like there gonna stop swimming in the middle of the race.if u really want it they have to work hard for it.harder than katie ledecky.
Before the 2016 olympics, Michael Phelps insisted that he would NOT participate if the coaches made him do the 80K yards per week olympians usually do. He did 50K a week instead. You're telling yourself fairy tales if you think the winners are always the hardest workers.
