Used analog synths in this song and a drum machine. it was fun composing and recording this. i used a microbrute, reface cs synth and a volca sampler with a monotron haha
it's about a little alien who aspires to be a dancer but not all is going well for him poor popopo

WOW. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN I SAW THE THUMBNAIL AND TITLE BUT THIS IS SOMETHING. it has a really unique vibe that i love. i could almost describe it as reminding me of an old video game or cartoon that doesn't even exist.
ANYWAY morb did such fantastic job animating the video! everything looks so colorful and fluid! and i can't get over how good the mixing sounds! every time you release a new song the mixing gets better and better. i am thoroughly impressed.

I might make a theory for this song I guess
So I think this song is about this man named Popopo. He's talented and determined, but he's poor and very lonely. He doesn't have friends or a home and is starving. He travels from City to city with the money he can save so he can try to become a star so he can get friends, a home and food but nothing works and everyone shuns him making him even more lonely.

Reminds me of some of the stuff produced by filmbilder- hypnotic animation, strange style, weird concept, typical message, and all wrapped up in nearly indescribable feeling of both familiarity and nuance. Like the rest of your stuff, the vocals were tuned with satisfying clarity, the instrumental manages to have a lot going on at once without feeling like too much, and the music conveys the message and sounds like a complete piece even without the lyrics... I could listen to this song all day and still feel happy listening to it again. And that alien... I feel that Morb should animate little creatures dancing more often! I've noticed that Popopo, the pink elephant thing in Kaleidascope Haze, and all of the stuffed animals in Sleepy Head have all been beautifully animated with almost eerie fluidity that just gives my brain tiny orgasms to look at. I also love Popopo's expressions in this, it really helps him FEEL like an alien instead of just LOOKING like one.
All just more reasons why you are my favorite music producer and Morb is one of my favorite animators. Please, never stop doing what you do... BOTH of you...

I absolutely love Steampianist's songs, they all have this amazing yet sinister atmosphere to them. This song made me so emotional what really barely happens at all. I am overwhelmed. This is such a masterpiece. It might even become one of my new favourite songs of all time.

This is the first new Oliver song I've heard in a while, and I'm amazed! The voice sounds great and the concept of the video is fantastic! Maybe I'm biased towards concepts like these but in all honesty, Steampianist never fails to deliver amazing work!
