The Monkees still have quite a following. Sold out at the Greek in 2012. I think you're a bit incorrect about their current following. Everyone knows them!! A lot of people know them more than the Beatles in some corners, because their show has been on continually for decades. Not a quality judgement, just an observation. Thanks for the great commentary.

The Greek concert was filled with lots of very young kids---half the audience were kids. A lot were old hippie-aged folk. And a lot in-between.
