We have been to both. Ginnie Spring area is beautiful but unfortunately can get a little crazy. Ichetucknee Springs was definitely more laid back. We appreciated both of them for different reasons. If I had to choose it would be Ichetucknee Springs.

I feel the exact same! Both are definitely beautiful in their own way! I need to go back to Ichetucknee soon!

I stayed all summer near the itchetucknee springs last year... some intel to add, the north entrance (so being able to tube/kayak the whole river) to itchetucknee only allows a certain number of people per day & they fill up fast so go early in the morning! The north entrance of the river is SO much more beautiful than starting at midpoint in my opinion.
Ginnie springs.. I’d basically describe it as a huge tailgate party lol the campground is definitely loud & proud people! There are some people there that’ll offer rides to take you & your tubes to the different entrances into the river for tips ... and they definitely don’t care about alcohol whereas it’s not allowed at itchetucknee 😊

Thanks for adding Cailin! Yeah, years ago I visited and was able to do the whole river from north to the end - but due to COVID and some fallen trees that wasn't the case for my trip this past Summer. I agree - taking the whole ride down the river is definitely worth it!
I totally agree with you about Ginnie Springs too - it was a world wind of a difference. I really enjoyed the relaxing less noisy crowd at Itchetucknee - but Ginnie serves it's purposes too & they have a lot to explore there too - just with a lot of people and partying! lol

As a young teen/college student Ginnie was where people went to party-camp. I can't stand those types of places now that I'm older - I look for quieter more serene places to relax. Back then I'd choose Ginnie. Now I'd for sure choose Ichatucknee. I love snorkeling there. Gilchrist Blue Springs is one of my top 3 faves though, so much so I finally made a video about it too haha

Love that! I feel the exact same way about the two 😊 I haven't been to Gilchrist so I'll have to add that to my list and I'll check out your video 😁
