Hey Berrie thanks for watching! If you have any questions please let me know, I'll do my best to answer. 73' KE7FEI
Thank you for all of your videos. Soooo helpful! I’ve gone to my hidden menu to see if I can resolve a challenge that I and another 9600 owner have. We’ve set squelch to zero on analog stations so we can hear analog stations without worrying about it trying to break squelch. That is, we’d like to be able to hear the background noise no matter how weak a signal. We simply cannot figure out how to do this even the squelch set to zero. Can you help?
Got the answer from another user. Here’s my post:
I can’t believe it. The solution comes from Dean Croker. The answer is to change one of the “P” buttons to “Monitor.” Worked first time. Now I can tune to a channel and listen to even the weakest signals. Why TYT has a zero squelch that doesn’t actually zero the squelch is another question, but I’ve got the answer I needed. Thank you everyone.
Hello, great video. Can this radio cross band repeat? If so, how? Please advise
Hey v b, now when you ask cross band repeat what exactly are you asking? Like can it be used on 2 & 440? Repeaters? That's a broad question hi hi, thanks for the question though hope to help.
Great video. just bought a MD9600 and am facing analog RX sensitivity. The weaker signals tend to break squelch on and off. I saw you have mentioned squelch settings in the video so would like to know what would be the ideal squelch setting in the hidden menu. I see many rows with squelch settings. which one to change and to what level. thank you in advance.
My TYT 9600 takes almost two seconds to key up a DMR repeater after pressing the transmit button. Is there a setting to key up in a more timely manner? Also, is there a way to make the radio into a single display?
Thanks for the infrmtion of your video, I have a consult; Do you know how to download the audios that are recorded on the radio? Cheers
Good Afternoon Salvador, thanks for the comment and question. As far as the "sounds" that are on the radio no, those are all internal. They can be manually shut off and turned back on. Is that what your asking or? Let me know 73's KE7FEI
@@KE7FEI Thank you for answering. My question refers to how to download the recorded audio? on a PC, Greetings
For analog mode I was told to change my setting to "WIDE" For receive where is this setting at ? Thank you.
Can you make a video how to program it manually?
Hey Kevin, so I sure can. Do you happen to have anyting in particular you would like me to focus on or just and overall, how to guide? Great question :) 73 -Bob KE7FEI
Thanks alot
Great Video! We really need one about the CPS V1.22 software that explains what all the entries are and how in the world can I sort the 375 channels in my radio. Contacts can be sorted using "Contact Manager" by N0GSG but if you export your channels to a CSV file, then reorder them, you loose all the frquencies and sometimes the associated contacts. HELP! Thanks in advance.
Hey Charlie Gilbert, well there I can help! I will do my best to get a "how to video" out as soon as I can. For now have a great weekend 73 KE7FEI
hi is it possible to improve the audio ,because about my report my friebds tell me my voice is very very low....i modified by the programm ,about "level audio" and verify the bandwide ...nothing
Hey Jean, great question. Have you tried a different Microphone? Md-9600's are known to have really really bad mic's, if you have a different one to try, I would suggest there first.
@@KE7FEI A lot of weak audio complaints come from the mike element being too far from your mouth. Try talking across the tiny mike element to reduce breath "pops" with the mike almost touching your mouth.
I have a little speaker icoon in my display with a cross behind.
So i see activity on the band but i hear nothing.
readining the manual i not found how i put tihs icoon of!!
so can you help me?
Greetzzzzz DP5M ( Netherlands)
Good Afternoon DP5M :) So yes I totally can help you with this, its just been put into vfo lock mode or disabled mode. Short and simple here we go :
(Stop or Disable) one of the two bands (A or B) press and hold the ENT button, when you do the speaker icon with a x will show on one (A or B)
It is now disabled. To disable B (bottom band), have the active band as A, then press & hold the ENT until you see the above icon appear on B.... release. Keep doing the above to open everything back up. Until the x is gone on the speaker. Hope this helps. Let me know! 73' KE7FEI
@@KE7FEI i fix it, lots of thanks
@@macornet1963 No problem, if you have any more questions or what not let me know. Happy to help! Have a great day :)
AF minimum volume and bip volume, where can I set this up?
Luiz, thanks for the question. So they have done some "software" changes which they said you now should be able to adjust the "beep" volume... Now as far as the AF and Bip, I'd have to go back I to the "hidden menu" and see if any adjustments can be made there. Always remember with this radio its all about software and program... I hope that helped a little, like I said I'll check the hidden menu and get back to you :) 73-
@@KE7FEI Okay, I'm waiting for your answer, but from what I noticed nothing about the volume.
my equipment has beep and volume too loud, impossible to use the night with sleeping family. 73!
Your audio at start is good, then afterwards it goes low. TTFN!
Hey Ed, thanks for your comment, although it might be on your end... Out of 9.3K views your the first.... Hmm? Anyways have a great day!
Hi Is there a menu for audio gain mine is very low I could not find one on the service menu?
The only answer I have found for this issue is on the General Setting page. Look at the far right side and the fourth line down. Latest version says "MIC Level".
Hi how to enable repeater mode?
So i've tried this but when the window opens with the data it's so large that i can't see the buttons on the bottom to write read or anything. I've tried to resize but it won't can you help
Just got radio and not seeing any signal strength bars. Are there optimum settings? If so, how to determine.
I wish it had normal signal strength bars as well..Unless someone writes custom firmware I don't think it will happen.
my signal bars are 1 or 2, the only time i had 4 bars was when i keyed up on a close by radio and it hit 4 bars then my local repeater was 4 bars, at least until the next time it went in to TX then it went back to 2 bars..!!
Is this cross band repeater capable? Tnx 73
De Cipher great question. No this radio does not do cross band repeater. Sorry, but great question for sure! 73' KE7FEI
i want to know how it is the best squelch level for analog saj 2 of 5 if 5 is the highest level?
Hey MADMILKMAN, well it all depends on how busy the channel is your using. If analog, and its a clean freq, I would use the lowest setting as possible. Hope that helps? if not I may need a little more information as to what your trying to do. But I think I got it? 73' KE7FEI
so i need to change it in open squelch and close squelch? for use on analog repeaters 80% of time busy?
MADMILKMAN232 yes, that should in theory fix the problem. If your still having an issue please let me know. Good luck and 73’ KE7FEI
South Mountain? Are you in Lehigh?
Arizona 😁
shame it's just numbers..
like Kenwood radios who have numbers and letters any ideas what the numbers represent regards final values ?
Yes of course I know what the final values are, they represent the "settings" to make the functionality of the radio work. Without these settings you would have a paper weight.
no i mean.. like on Kenwoods and such they're like binary fo the radio,
but what do they mean to the end user,
so on say RF power UHF it's meant to do 45w, so i assume that if 99 is maximum power what is it ??
what is 65 in power ??
what is 21 as a squelch setting ??
so what do the numbers relate to regards their value ??
@@bigpimp347 I would like to know too. I am using a hotspot in the car with a stub antenna on the radio ( in side the car) . it would be nice to have the radio only put out 2 watts.
Is it the same with the retevis RT90?
Hey wang, great question! They both look the same, but only difference I can see right now is mine says Tytera MD9600 and the Retevis RT90 just the name that's it. Thanks for the question!
Has anybody ever had a problem with the md9600 not transmitting on a programmed frequency? It will not tx on saved ch, but will tx on that same freq on vfo mode no problem... Makes no sense as this is the same programming file used on previous unit. Any help would be VERY VERY appreciated!
I’m having trouble with it hitting my cross band repeater in analog mode u happen to know why?
Hello Stephen, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I never saw this question, I swear YT is not letting me know things. Anyways are you still having the issue hitting the cross band repeater? Is it not even keying it? I will double check into this for you, but it should. Let me know, again sorry for the delay. 73's KE7FEI
Yes I am wanting it to go to the repeater on 450 band and repeat back to me on 170, it works on my portables which is the uv380 and 390 but won’t work for this one for some reason
It the same menu you also can call on the MD380/MD390 and MD2017
Hey Kim, it sure is! Thanks for the comment 73’ KE7FEI
Great video 👍

Thanks Anders! Hope it helped or gave some new information:) Have a great one -KE7FEI
Can you regulate the mice gauges with software on the TYT MD-9600? Best regards Robert Hi OZ9RH www.oz9rh.dk
Robert! Hey sorry for the delay, I never saw this comment or I would have responded right away. Yes you can, also try to go into "the hidden menu" and adjust that way. Sorry about the delay! -73
