Hi Matt. I have just purchased MD9600 radio and seem to be having issues with transmit and receive. It appears not to be transmitting or receiving as I can set a simplex freq (New Zealand) and I can not hear it on my handheld when I transmit. Also does the display screen show Tx and Rx frequency when I have a local analogue repeater programmed. Hope you can help. Supply from Amazon sent me a factory firmware and still cannot get it to work. Thanks heaps. Bruce NZ
Bought this radio and had a problem with it. It was replaced and it programmed OK until I upgraded the firmware and now it does not transmit or receive. (Yes, I have checked for the correct freq range). I have been unable to find a way to do a factory reset to start all over.
Could be the squelch, mine was not the best for listening to fm so that could be the issue. Try both ways for example 5 squelch and 1 squelch setting. Think there the wrong way on that radio from memory 👍🙏 thanks so much for watching buddy 👍
Hi, great review!! Do you know any software or way to adjust/tune the Tx output power of RT90? Because after checking mine with many Power & SWR Meters I found that the radio output Tx is below Specs. At some levels is half the power it should be. If you have the software or know the way to adjust that, I'd REALLY appreciate your help! Thank you very much

I have tried everything I know to find where you program Talk groups and Contacts into for DMR on this brand new RT90, no idea or information yet Retevis claims this thing is DMR and handles Talk Groups my BTECH 6 X 2 is a piece of cake to program this thing is about to be floated in the Atlantic! Help please.

Nice video, mate. Have you got a small, basic codeplug somewhere? It is slightly more difficult than programming the RT84, eg. when I program it, one line says "Unprogrammed", while the other line gives the programmes, but when I key up the mic, it only gives a deep beep. I don't think it is the zone, as I saw in the video here your B channels ar empty. So, felling confused right now. Cheers. 73, Frankie.
Hi Matt, for the last few days been trying to sort my new RT90 (MD-9600) out, your video helped alot (thank you) , using a MMDVM pi-star hotspot which i purchased off e-bay full built up. All does what it says on the hotspot and my BER rate is 0.1% to 0.2 % at the highest, the screen says connecting & the radio and on the pi-star dash board but i hear nothing ?? tried the echo test i do not hear my voice back. Wondering if i try building my own as you have will get better results, or you have any ideas what may be happening thanks....ttfn 73 Martyn 2E0LEK

I'm having trouble with programming Analog, it wan'ts to clip real bad when listening to local guys talking . what could be going on ?

@@m6ceb Check the analog channel(s) to make sure they are 25KHz bandwidth. Digital is 12.5KHz.

hmm i think its 10w and 25w from memory :)
5, 10,20 and 50 i think.
