  • Hey everyone! This video was mostly just to test out the John Petrucci Dreamcatcher pickup that I just put in this guitar, but still a fun little solo! Hope you enjoy it! (Note that I'm still not fantastic with mic placement, and would say this sounds better in the room).

    Nice job!
How do you like these compared to the Full-Shred? Does this scream equally? Pick attack?

Awesome! Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does the series/parallel switch still work with the new pickups?

Not a dumb question! I wired it the same way that the original pickups were configured, so the series/parallel switch does still work! I just don’t use it very often for what I play

I just got the same guitar, did you feel like the pickup was a good upgrade? did you keep the stock neck pickup?

I've got the same guitar and think the full shred is too bright in an also bright guitar. You can put filister screws in the full shred to make it more a custom 5. Didn't like the a2 pro for cleans. Now have this set and the cleans are brilliant while they give the charvel (on gain) a chunky body. Best bridge pickup for me in this particular guitar is the tone zone - give it a try.

@@Dennisbluschke I ended up putting a paf pro in the neck and a satchur8 in the bridge. Guitar sounds much much better, although I do think I could've gone with an even darker pup like the tone zone in the bridge, and maybe something more aggressive in the neck. But it's kind of a guessing game sometimes. Loving the guitar.

I kept the stock neck pickup, but in all honesty I don’t use the neck pickup a ton so I’m not super picky about that. I’m glad you found a setup that works for you though!
