Our cat was abandoned in a unit over the fence 11 years ago. He the gatecrashed us (long story), and he is still with us now.
He probably had good interactions with the previous owners and got into a routine. He came looking for more of the same and now he has you trained 😊

I don't know- maybe Dudley interpreted his owners sadness, an involuntary decision of moving and not taking him too- in the worse case scenario- they would miss him terribly. The best outcome: being your cat. So much energy, antics, and obvious love for you worked out well for him. Thank you for your compassion and good cheer. Dudley is a goofball. I can't have a cat where I live...I see this video and it reminds me how much I miss pets. (Sorry, JMO) He's an excellent new family member.

Lovely and fictional.
Once maybe twice in a lifetime, you own an animal that seems like a hybrid. Half animal half human. Dudley‘s are special. There’s just something different about a certain cat or dog or whatever pet that you just feel like they see under your soul and they get you and that they’re your best friend. It’s really odd to think about but when it happens, you think what did I do before I had this little human furry thing lol

I love Dudley.
My neighbor had a big orange guy named Gobo. One day, he came over to my house and came in. He had a collar with his address, so I took him home. Later, back he came. This went on for a while even to the point where he would come over in the middle of the night and jump into my second-floor bedroom's open window! I'd wake up to him sleeping on my bed! Anyway, the neighbor and I agreed that, for some reason, Gobo just liked my house better than theirs, so he just stayed with me. On Halloween, the neighbor's children would ring my bell and, upon opening my door, they'd say "It's Gobo!" when they saw him on the back of the chair by the door. Gobo spent the rest of his life with me. What a great guy.

That cat is completely at home in your house and garden. Did the previous owners of the house perhaps just abandon him there? Whichever - the cat undoubtedly has chosen you to look after him and to love him. I devoutly hope you took him in and are doing so. He's a lovely cat. The cat distribution system strikes again! The video says he belongs to the neighbour.It is likely he befriended the previous owner of that house though,so he sees the new owner as a replacement.Cat create "territories" which can involve several households.There is nothing mysterious about it . A garden fence isnt a barrier to a cat.

I had a neighbors cat attach to me and waited outside my door for me to come home from work. Later neighbor found out husband was being transferred out of state. They needed to find home for 2 of 4 cats. Sheba knew she would need a new home? I know she only liked one of the other cats, but family was talking that cat with them. Animals can see the pictures in our heads, l tested this with sheba. That cat knew.
