It's way ahead of season, and it's developing in a rare location. It is noteworthy for sure. All projections have shown this year will be extremely active in the Atlantic. This probably won't hit land though, I think we can all agree that's a good thing.

I thought El Nino is changing to La Nina. So I was expecting the sea surface to cool down.
El Niño and La Niña are related to the water temperatures in the equatorial pacific. The sea surface temperatures they are talking about are specific to the Atlantic, so unrelated!
