Around the 4 minute mark where the Penguin show runner stated that there were no villains, just flawed people. That’s an absolutely diabolical statement. The Penguin himself is objectively evil.
It’s so dumb for people to think we are only getting Damian as Robin, Him being Robin just means Nightwing, Red Hood, BatGirl and Red Robin are already alive and well
Alan Richston is perfect for the role. I said it once, and I'll say it again. He wants to play him, so I think he'll have the dedication to play him for multiple films.
Given the tones of the Reevesverse and the Gunnverse as well as the 2 Batmen being at 2 distinct stages in their lives, it'll be made crystal clear they exist in separate universes.
This will never work because Man of Steel fans are already making quick work in attacking anything related to the new Superman film. Even some of the GP stand by Cavill. And it will be even worse if the two Batman universes are going simultaneously with comparisons and confusing audiences. Most fans lack critical thinking to realize this which is why people like the person who made this YT video could never run a movie studio because in the end running a studio requires knowing brand cohesion which is the reason Gunn wants it to merge.
I just hope that all of this great long-term planning doesnt get destroyed by health consequences. James Gunn is nearly 60. Nowadays that’s not too old but you never know what life has in store.

i love the matt reeves universe, but i’m excited to see a batman that’s a little more fantastical. also a batman who’s at the peak of his game in terms of combat/gadgets/detective skills along w bat family
Imagine if they were shooting the films at the same time, and had the chance to have Robert Pattinson's Batman and TBA DCU's Batman standing next to each other in full costume.
As long as the Batman content is good I’m happy with any Batman. And while I absolutely love Matt reeves universe and the Batman, we have never TRULY gotten a Batman and bat family movie. We’ve had joke movies with bat nipples, and we’ve had extremely grounded movies that aren’t really about Batman but we’ve never had a true adaptation of Batman and Robin on the big screen. So I am absolutely thrilled about the brave and the bold and I hope this Batman feels pulled straight out of the comics.
I find it interesting that James Gunn is starting off with Damian. Because that would mean, everyone else is in their final forms as to speak. Dick's Nightwing, Jason's Red Hood, Tim's Red Robin, Barbara's Oracle, etc. So I find it very interesting to see what they come up with when the Batman film drops and how those characters will be used in the movies. And yeah, I find the Clayface thing strange, it's feeling very Sony, but I'll just have to wait and see.
I'm split on this because people constantly complained about the DCEU not starting proper with core characters (Yes, it was bad anyway, we get it). Creature Commandos is enjoyable but it's just Suicide Squad (something we're told there's too much of). The slate doesn't need to be the MCU, but I think we can do Wonder Woman. I'll hope for the best.
Comic book movies have cinematic universes, multiverses, time travel and sometimes multiple versions of the same character in the same movie. I don't think that two different Batman continuities will confuse anyone. Maybe I'm still hope maxing from the Superman teaser, but I think that people are smarter and deserve more credit than that.
Gunn said he considered it the same way he considers everything because it's his job but he's not combining the Reeves Batman stuff with the DCU. Don't expect the Brave and the Bold until after the Reeves verse is done because Zaslav said that he didn't want multiple Batmen running around at the same time anymore.
yes that's why matt reeve's batman being an else worlds is better idea thank you foe clearing this up but the 2nd half dose make sense but people will still talking about this topic
*Sigh. I dont know or care how, i can accept differing tones and keeping his movies the same and increasingly fantastical, but just make Pattinson the DCU Batman. The movie was a hit, just go with it.
I wish they were doing origin films. Seeing Bruce Wayne/Batman from the beginning & seeing him grow to the level of Batman in the comics & The Animated Series. That being said, Brave & The Bold's main villain should be Ghost Maker, a character that is a mirror image of Bruce Wayne/Batman. They also should adapt elements of The Demon's Head, Son Of The Demon, & Batman Vs Robin. A villain like Ghost Maker can help make Bruce show Damian what can happen when your intelligent & phenomenally skilled without having code.
The only way I’ll get excited about Batman again is if it doesn’t detract from Superman again and offers something we haven’t already seen countless times. I’d be cool with an elderly Batman in the new DC universe. That would be something we haven’t seen yet.
Separate universes is illogical since the whole point is to compete with the MCU. Fans would rather see Pattison rather than a separate Batman. Warner bros. dripped the ball from the beginning on this. They could have started their own expanded universe thru the Dark Knight series instead of the grounded position. Batman's films are naturally grounded as he 8s not a meta being. That doesnt mean that his arc coukd not be apart of the greater DC yniverse where meta and cosmic beings exist. Marvel has done it for almost 20 years now
I think they should treat Reeves Batman movies as a kind of “non canon prequel” to the DCU Batman. Imply that DCU Batman shares a similar history, and when they inevitably introduce Dick Grayson into the Reeves films, they should keep the origin the same for Dick in the DCU.
4:15 James would just do what he said about Blue Beetle TSS and Peacemaker. The events are Canon and some aren't. He could say all that happened but now Batman is 7 years into his crusade and move on 😂😂😂
The way Lauren cooked up The Penguin show and showing she knows how to catch the same feeling that was already established. She deserves credit also she a baddie
A Mike Flanagan Clayface story could be fire. The man made Midnight Mass. Respect for calling out those complaining about not following the MCU release order
I would rather the universes were kept seperate and that's what I think will happen. I wouldn't be angry if they merged but I think two Batmen with different tones and surroundings could be really cool 🔥
I am now incentivized more than ever now to bring a child into this world to experience batman the same ways that I did. I want them to experience that authentic matt reives/james gunn cuisine
Maybe they could make a show that talks about the life of each robin before they grow up and take on a new name. Every robin gets their own standalone story with Batman told in their own season. Of an animated or live action show.
DCU was clearly stated for the brave and the bold to come out in 2025. Batman is a detective no matter what.. James Gunn stated that Bruce would have a fully fleshed out family. So if Damian is in it, then we get Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, Red Robin, and Damian Robin.
I hate the whole aspect of making Batman grounded or "realistic" Batman is a fictional character who fights along with other fictional superheroes. They literally did the snyderverse and I'm not a snyderverse fan.You don't need to make him grounded/realistic. Spider-Man didn't need to be grounded and realistic yet ppl still love the movies. People want to see Batman face his rogues gallery other than joker, riddler, two face, batwoman, penguin, ras'al ghul. Some of use want to see the meta human villains (yes I know freeze and poison ivy appeared in the old movies but those were bad movies)
I would love to see Pattinson and Cornsweet Superman cross over. Maybe Gunn and Reeves came to their senses. It's a little odd that Reeves all of a sudden is involved with upcoming Batman related movies. 🤔 a little odd. You can have a grounded Batman movie and fantastical Superman movie. We saw it in the animated series. BTAS was grounded and somewhat realistic, and then they crossed over with Superman and brought in more fantastical things. Like when are they going to start casting Brave and the Bold? 2030? 2035? David cornsweet would be like 40, by the time that movie begins filming and the DCU might not even exist. You might as well use what you have and make Brave and the Bold an elseworld. That way, Gunn can get his batman movie, and we fans get the crossover we've been waiting for.
I could see it playing out like this: Start the movie with Batman and Tim Drake's Robin being a perfect duo to later contrast Bruce and Damian's relationship as a team. Dick is already Nightwing and operating on his own in Bludhaven. Jason is dead and hasn't come back, so they can use Red Hood to make a point against Batman having Robins as a concept and his no kill rule. This would make for some good tension and drama for Damian. Finally, Tim would be ready to go on his own as Red Robin or something like that, so Bruce would have plenty of time for Damian when he's a eventually introduced during the first act of the movie.
1. I'm perfectly fine with a grounded Batman. Batman is good enough of a character where he can do both. 2. All I personally want from a Batman franchise right now is to tell the story of the Bat-family. Aside from animation (and the Schumacher movies), we have not gotten a proper Bat-family franchise that shows a full story, IN LIVE ACTION, of Batman adopting Dick, him leaving, then finding Jason, losing Jason, adopting Tim, mentoring Barbara, and eventually everyone either getting their own careers going or the whole family fighting together. The best we've seen of this happening as an example is the CW Arrow show before it fell in quality. GA started his career, accumulated allies, had a team, did it proper. We CAN and SHOULD have this with Batman either in a show done in similar fashion to Daredevil mixed with Arrow, or in a proper movie franchise similar to the MCU with a darker, more serious tone. It can be done. That's honestly what actually NEEDS to be done. But for some reason, we just keep getting origin stories and side-quests. Give us a complete Bat-family story. Start to finish. We don't necessarily need Bruce's origin story told again (except maybe in flashbacks from time to time), but start a franchise from Batman's perspective but with the origin of Robin and the Dynamic Duo. It doesn't have to be emo, just serious enough with Robin balancing it out with his innocence and witty charm. And with so many of the Bat-family being introduced, it makes for the perfect opportunity to have Batman's complete Rogues Gallery as things escalate from simple street thugs to Man-Bat, Killer Croc, and Clayface while still being grounded in reality with a fantastical, sci-fi edge. It is 100% doable. Arrow did it. Batman can, too. Frankly, though, I don't think Gunn is the man for the job. I think someone like Drew Goddard or the Russo Brothers would be better candidates for something like this. Heck, maybe even Jon Favraeu. But not James Gunn.
Matt Reeves Batman Universe should be grounded and realistic while James Gunn Univserse should be supernatural and have Batman fighting guys like Killer Croc, Clay face, Mr Freeze and ManBat and all them guys even superman
Matt Batman is a rookie
James Batman is a veteran with a history of sidekicks
Am not waiting until 2035 to finally get the full batfamily

The points you brought up about the timelines do they want an early or seasoned Batman will really affect Batman and Damien's dynamics. Because Damien is a hard character to make likeable in one movie unless substantial time is spent on him. Not to mention this will be the first Batman movie in the DCU After a Clayface movie. Introducing Damien Possibly Talia, the villain and the plot of the movie will be a hard execution to make.
@@j.r.tomlin4265I think you’re forgetting that the rape thing with Talia was retconned ages ago. Damian’s conception was completely consensual in current canon
@@waluigitheplumber5355 just because it was retconned in the comics doesn't make it any easier to explain or digest for a audience. Not to mention they are probably going to have his birth glossed over or be a major part of the movie. Because it's complicated to tell correctly and would eat at the movies time.
You guys are forgetting batfleck was a fantastical batman too
people probably don't wanna think about batfleck outside of the fight scenes 😂
barely
I thought he was a good Bruce Wayne (Batman not so much) but none of those portrayals or versions of the characters were any good (Wonder Woman was the closest to actually resembling the character) so happy they are throwing it all in the trash.
@@jamespopcornfrfr He was running for his life from Doomsday, shooting Superman with kryptonite standing side by side with Supes and WW as the trinity on the big screen for the first time (crazy) throwing a batarang at the Flash etc...I dunno how that's "barely." Who never got a solo project and barely showed up despite being a big member.
Batman against the court of owls in his early years sounds more terrifying
I think having both Batman franchises are smart and I like that idea but yes I want to see more flash, gl, titans, jsa and so on.
12:15 I think a court of owls story could an interesting take on how Dick Grayson is introduced, as Bruce prevents him from becoming a talon and gives him a new purpose as robin, but that might be too similar to Damian's origin
Screw the Court of Owls. Id much rather see someone finally have the balls to adapt The Black Glove
I just want comic accurate Bat Family
A comic accurate bat family would not be good
If 20 different Batman’s can be currently active in comics… I don’t mind movies / movie studios doing the same thing
Batman better have a coffee with superman in cafe and just goof off i need that desperately worlds finest barely acted as frnds in live action that its surprising even dcamu barely felt like frnds i need the best buddies of dc IT IS A NEED
Give DCU Batman white eyes, a blue costume, ig even bring in the yellow oval, and make the costume with less armor plating
Never understood the blue costume, bats aren't blue and neither are shadows.
@ sure, but I don’t find it much more sillier than the bright grey. I’m just so damn sick of all these full black/dark grey suits. The Blue Bat-Suit has always been my favorite thanks to Jim Lee
Pls jamesgunn do NOT add that corny ass oval🙏🙏

Around the 4 minute mark where the Penguin show runner stated that there were no villains, just flawed people. That’s an absolutely diabolical statement. The Penguin himself is objectively evil.
It’s so dumb for people to think we are only getting Damian as Robin,
Him being Robin just means Nightwing, Red Hood, BatGirl and Red Robin are already alive and well
So long as they don't follow that son of Batman format with deathstroke trying to take over the league again
@@KillMonger592 and give us a proper batfamily
I mean you’re right. Just the opposing color palettes will be enough to distinguish them
If that's not enough, then the supporting cast/characterizations/costumes will.
I just hope that all of this great long-term planning doesnt get destroyed by health consequences. James Gunn is nearly 60. Nowadays that’s not too old but you never know what life has in store.
I’m hoping for a Batman close to Batman from Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
All this love Batman is getting needs to be transferred to Wonder Woman
It really does.

Tbh im just hoping he gives batman the blue and yellow suit. James loves color so im certain he will. I also think his batman will be a bit more mellow and lighthearted instead of angry and brooding. Like how he is in TAS where he'll still break bones but also comfort scared children. Im sick of seeing the angry and scary batman. For omce i wanna see the softer side of him that inspires hope
Remember james gunned said his dcu was gonna be like star wars where there’s multiple different stories but they all arent really connected to one another
Look I’m a Batman buff so as long as it’s well written I don’t care if we’re getting a bunch of Batman content from both matt reeves and James Gunn.
Most Batman movie only fans want Batman to remain a solo brooding and vengeful dude for the rest of his life, like the edgelords they are.
And the craziest part is, we haven’t had a single casting announcement for batman yet
Its a bad sign that Damian Wayne is being chosen because he's "Jame's Gunn's favorite Robin." We all had a kid like that on the school bus.
i love the matt reeves universe, but i’m excited to see a batman that’s a little more fantastical. also a batman who’s at the peak of his game in terms of combat/gadgets/detective skills along w bat family
James gun is making the best comic Batman adaptation we’ll ever see
Imagine if they were shooting the films at the same time, and had the chance to have Robert Pattinson's Batman and TBA DCU's Batman standing next to each other in full costume.
An older Batman and a young Superman would be an interesting dynamic.
I'm just glad it's not a joker movie
That scene of Clayface asking James Gunn to sit on his face was basically DC when he got "fired" from Marvel and their DCEU fell apart
And it's Mike Flanagan!
Plus, James Gunn was notorious for horror films before GotG.
The DCU is everything I'm expecting from Gunn's take.
I just hope he has the white eyes like Deadpool and Spider-Man. I also hope Ace the batdog is in it, as we've got Krypto in Superman.
I appreciate you actually giving credit to Lauren LeFranc for the penguin.
I just think it’s really a mistake to have multiple Batman’s. The general audience wont get it and it could really hurt DC in the long run.
**It is not about COOKIIIIIING....!!! It is about SENDING A MESSAAAAAaaaaaaage!!**

I mean would it be to crazy to age up Damian and go the test tube route. Or would that be to outta pocket?
The only way I’ll get excited about Batman again is if it doesn’t detract from Superman again and offers something we haven’t already seen countless times. I’d be cool with an elderly Batman in the new DC universe. That would be something we haven’t seen yet.
Matt Reeves is the one doing all the cooking around here. Batman is the goat of comic book heroes. Bro is always carrying this goddamn genre.
Grow up man child
Damian sucks as a beginner robin 😭😭😭they should've stared with Jason.
He's a phenomenal starting Robin. If the writers are competent, they'll give him a great character arc.
Name a notable with Jason todd as robin story that isn't him dying
Nah he's good especially now in the comics
Bro could have said Tim but chose Jason....
They should not have stayed with Jason
All I know is somebody give me some Court of Owls.
In which universe? DCU or Reeves?
@@RyanG0899Reeves
Separate universes is illogical since the whole point is to compete with the MCU. Fans would rather see Pattison rather than a separate Batman. Warner bros. dripped the ball from the beginning on this. They could have started their own expanded universe thru the Dark Knight series instead of the grounded position. Batman's films are naturally grounded as he 8s not a meta being. That doesnt mean that his arc coukd not be apart of the greater DC yniverse where meta and cosmic beings exist. Marvel has done it for almost 20 years now
Claudia Doumit as Talia Al Ghul fits for me, and Robert Pattinson as DCU Batman (Recasted)
To be fair. They were already making batman before james gunn was hired.
Pattinson batman could've impregnated talia when he was 18.
If they merge Pattinson batman into the dcu it can work with damian still being 14
That’s forcing it
A Mike Flanagan Clayface story could be fire. The man made Midnight Mass. Respect for calling out those complaining about not following the MCU release order
Penguin was CLEARLY a villain, regardless of what the showrunner says.
I would rather the universes were kept seperate and that's what I think will happen. I wouldn't be angry if they merged but I think two Batmen with different tones and surroundings could be really cool 🔥
Until Matt Reeves' Batman fails at the box office, Gunn isn't going to cancel it.
The court of owls and Bane could be good antagonists for Pattinson’s Batman
I am now incentivized more than ever now to bring a child into this world to experience batman the same ways that I did. I want them to experience that authentic matt reives/james gunn cuisine
Maybe they could make a show that talks about the life of each robin before they grow up and take on a new name. Every robin gets their own standalone story with Batman told in their own season. Of an animated or live action show.
DCU was clearly stated for the brave and the bold to come out in 2025. Batman is a detective no matter what.. James Gunn stated that Bruce would have a fully fleshed out family. So if Damian is in it, then we get Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, Red Robin, and Damian Robin.
when was it stated that Brave and the Bold would come out in 2025?
Wish they’d just make a Batman series. Movies aren’t long enough to do the whole bat family justice
He's making the fans who begged him to put red diapers on Superman eat their own 💩 that's what he's doing. 😂
bro i fw you and your vids so much but consider switching up the bg music.
I would have clayface hiding out bludhaven on the run from Batman and have Nightwing make a cameo..
I could see it playing out like this:
Start the movie with Batman and Tim Drake's Robin being a perfect duo to later contrast Bruce and Damian's relationship as a team.
LET ME COOK MY NINJA LOL 😂
Well since I’m early, I’m gonna mention what I always felt. DC women are hotter than Marvel women, there I said it.
Can't wait for the dcu batman..should be the most comic book plot armor version ever.
Matt Reeves Batman Universe should be grounded and realistic while James Gunn Univserse should be supernatural and have Batman fighting guys like Killer Croc, Clay face, Mr Freeze and ManBat and all them guys even superman
The last live action batman movie was so forgettable.
Superman can carry the fantasy side of DC while Batman’s side of the story can carry grounded characters imo.
Its honestly so fucking frustrating to see mfs on twitter wanting robert Pattinson to be on the dcu. It would be a fucking dumpster fire
Good thing we gave 80 years of Batman and there’s enough to go around 😭💀😭
