Thank you for your insights into the similarities and differences between the two. I was diagnosed with Sjogren's in 2020. Since then, I've learned firsthand the serious systemic effects of Sjogren's. I've developed extreme fatigue, brain fog, inflammatory arthritis, polyneuropathy, carpal tunnel in both hands, muscle pain and weakness, and in 2022 I was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with Sjogren's. Too few physicians understand the serious nature of Sjogren's. It is so much more than a nuisance disease that only caused dry eye and dry mouth.

Likely you have developed Secondary Autonomic Disorder. Does your BP make crazy swings up and down, feel dizzy at times upon standing after being seated?
@@cathytenpenny2890 no blood pressure swings although I do have many symptoms associated with autonomic nervous system dysfunction.
Your videos are absolutely the very best! I have RA, Sjogren's, and Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia. My symptoms started at age 40, but were not diagnosed until age 68, although I saw four rheumatologists during those years. Now I am 71, my joints are disfigured, and their function is greatly diminished. Unfortunately, I am chronically fatigued and accomplish very little in a day. You and your team are such a blessing to anyone traveling this journey! Thank you!

I was diagnosed with both 2 years ago affecting my right hand and dry eyes I just started Humira 4 months ago.
I've got both RA and SS and vasculitis it took 36 yrs of gaslighting..so long it's affected my heart and lungs and kidneys...beware

What's the difference between ssa and ssb blood test?
They target different parts in the cell. Different types of antibodies! SSA is more frequent than SSB. I hope it helps!

I have petechiae on my chest, abdomen, and arms (I have RA and sjögren's). Is this something to check out, or is it no big deal because it has been there for a while?

I have all the symptoms of RA and all my test come back negative, im at a lose as to what to do next but am in pain all the time, any suggestions?
Seronegative RA is a diagnosis that is corroborated by ultrasound of the joints.
Do either of these diseases affect the SI joints? I ve had on and off pain and sensation into my feet for 2 years. Seen orthopaedic and neurologist and they couldn’t find a definitive diagnosis. I have disc degeneration but no neural compression. I wake up with upper back pain and stiffness now. I have dry eyes and now dry skin. My toes are painful. The back of my thighs tremble and I have bubbling sensation into my soles. Both sides comes and goes.It comes and goes.
It's important to consult with your healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
currently waiting to see a rheum but i have unilateral joint pain and inflammation: from my hand to elbow shoulder, hip knee ankle foot. all left sided any thoughts?

Thanks for the interesting informative video. Im from the UK and have Osteoarthritis in my coccyx spine and hands. I've got Hypothyroidism & Hashimotos Disease is in the family. Like Hashimoto's can you get a false negative blood result for Sjögrens too? I am experiencing Hashimoto's symptoms aswell as Sjögrens symptoms.. I have been tested negative for Hashimoto's despite being gluten and dairy sensitive.. Any advice would be great I've been suffering since 2017 with heart racing hair loss dry eyes and throat intermittent swelling . I've been having normal blood results & specialist won't see me on the NHS. I'm losing weight & currently 43 kgs & 5ft2ins .. Please help..

Dr. Girnita: is Sjögren’s syndrome in any way related to spinal or other deformities? I had knock-knees as a child (treated with special orthopedic shoes) and scoliosis (treated with surgery and harrington rods). Was diagnosed with Sjogrens at age 35. I have not had good luck with rheumatologists since.
I have had 3 and my forth one seems to be a little more knowledgeable and is younger. It’s pretty sad when you know more about your disease and current research/treatments than your doctor does.

It can be frustrating when lab work doesn't confirm what you're feeling. Have you discussed your symptoms with your doctor?

Very often!!!
I also have neuropathy peripheral neuropathy including in the brain.. So it seems all my symptoms fit multiple autoimmune conditions.. Thanks in advance if you answer my question in the first post I've written since this morning. This is a genuine question.. 🙏🏽🤞🏼✌🏽
