    I can really agree with Cody on this one, I've been swimming for 10 years now (I'm 14), ive just gone to practice like a normal person up until 2 years ago. Then suddenly something hit me, i felt that jumping in the water was a relief, almost as if I liked it. Now that I look back, that was when I really started enjoying PRACTICE. Yes I realize I sound like an insane madman, but I really do just enjoy practice. For me when I started liking swimming that much, I started doing workouts on the mornings/nights there wasn't practice. I've dropped from a 30 to a 24.8 in the LCM 50 free within these 2 years. Not stopping now, full speed ahead.

    For 9 years of my own journey as a freestyle swimmer being 37 years old, I'm still learning and finding ways to get better just like Cody doing every day possible. 2023 coming up after this month will be a decade of my own journey. Cody knows what he's saying and giving advice to everyone. This year wasn't my year because of my struggle with self-doubt and depression because I feel like my life is not going nowhere fast. I wanna finally become stronger as a freestyle swimmer for everyone I love who gave me support. It's like the strong bond of support like one heart and two view points coming together and turn into the real support of strength.

    This video hits hard...I'm in the middle of my fourth year of competitive swimming and I've recently felt like I turned a big corner. I've always loved to swim, but I really WANT to swim now. I've been going to practice as often as I can and wishing I was in the pool when I'm not there. I've noticed my times improving because of this, and I just feel so much better (physically and mentally).

    Hi Cody, I train 6 times a week and 2 gym workouts. I'm 14, but I am a flyer. But my fly time have been stuck at 37 for more than one year. Your video really motivate me in times like this. Please keep it up. I love how you always say "embrace the pain". It is so true.

      A recommendation from a 20 year old that has had her fair share of plateaus. My struggle has been the 50 FR but works for all events. Change up your events focus on the 100/200 more, more room to improve and there's no 50s at the olympics. Also doing other strokes/IM is super helpful, sometimes you just need to change it up and seeing improvement in your less focused on is so fun and so helpful for motivation.

    Hey Cody, thanks a lot for the awesome swimming content that you’re giving us every week. I gotta a question for you, is it possible to have an European mode for the website so that we can pay in euros from our contries (France for me🇫🇷😉)? I guess it’s very complicated but I would love to be able to get your merch. Anyways thanks again for your videos.

    i'm 13 and i am training swimming for a year and a month now.I love butterfly and my time in 50m is sadly 38.8s. I'm obsessed with swimming.I train only 3 times a week, monday, wednsday and friday.I would love to have more trainings a week beacuse i really want to improve faster.But for just 13 months of training swimming i think that it's pretty average. :D PS: i swim 2/3km per training. ;}

    What do you recommend for a 10-year-old wanting to swim fast?

    • @hege4318
      @hege4318 Год назад +2

      Depends on the 10 year olds practice's and how well the techniques are.
      But from being an instructor for 9-13 year olds, I'd say probably a lot of technique focus to really learn to swim, and being streamlined. It can be good to have 2 practices a week, but more than 3 and lots of swimming can break the 10 year olds motivation.
      Doing lots of drills can help a lot.
      And remember to have some fun! Like the last 10 minutes he/she gets to have fun in the water.
      I think as a parent the most important advice would be to show a lot of interest, be excited when he/she talks about swimming and try to swim together and always be at the meets 😊
      Also remember that the body is still growing and muscles are still developing, so many gets faster automatically by just swimming once a week over time 😊
      I hope this helped a little 😊
