I loved watching your mock tests when I was learning to drive. My instructor was really chilled too but I loved watching how comfortable you make people feel. Thank you for helping me when I was learning because I never stopped watching your channel. Oh and I passed first time with 6 minors with the top examiner in my area. 🧡
I really think tests should be abolished. I think it should be down to instructors to ‘sign off’ on each section they are teaching. I know some amazing drivers that let nerves get the better of them on tests and then awful drivers that get lucky on test day and get a licence. Obvs just my opinion. You have such a fab teaching style, if only all instructors were like you!!! These videos are soooo helpful, thank you x
It's a pretty sound idea. Tests are rarely indicative of someones actual driving style or skill. The problem is there are too many instructors and the tests to be an instructor are too easy so there would be a lot of corruption. But there must be some middle ground where some instructors that take enhanced training and testing can sign pupils off themselves! It would certainly help with the backlog!
1:33 That is how you check your "brake lights" are working, not how you check your "brakes" are working. To check brakes you have to press the pedal and make sure it doesn't feel spongy or slack, then set off and do a slow moving test to ensure the car doesn't pull to one side or the other and that they actually slow the car down.
She sounded so legit I took it as she knew what she was talking about without hearing the actual answer! I was distracted by the sick fade in I could do on the pedal cam over the shot 🤷♂️😂🤦♂️
Good luck Sapphire 🤞💪 Try to relax on your test, I passed with my third time, I was much more relaxed than the other two times and because of that I was more aware and focused on my driving and made less mistakes which made it easy to pass. Also I had very chatty examiner, he definitely made me feel at ease, fingers crossed you get someone who makes you feel comfortable 🤞🤞🤞and if you don’t pass, don’t stress too much, just learn from mistakes and try to do better next time 💪💪💪

Big thanks to francis on all your mock test vids. I have been watching for a while and can finally say yesterday i passed with no minors and 1st time pass. Thanks again
I'm sure it's just the nerves, you could tell Sapphire was losing a bit of confidence throughout. Breathe, take things at your own pace. Personally I used to struggle with hesitation too but I started talking to myself (sorta giving a commentary whilst driving) and asking myself questions out loud about whether it was safe or not to go which made it easier. I'd say be assertive with your driving. Make a decision and stick with it. Is there a safe gap ? Prepare your car beforehand and filter in quickly, specially at situations such as the one at 11:30. As for overtaking cyclists, I know we might be tempted to overtake them but we should never do so at bends and it's even more dangerous when going uphill. She seems confident enough though, good luck for the test Sapphire!
2nd test is on 28th I wasn’t nervous just got to close on a car on left so he unfortunately had to fail me which is super annoying. Best mind set to have is to show the examiner how good you are at driving. You can do it

@@DrivingSchoolTV sorry for the late update. got a serious fault for control. failed due to the car rolling back on a hill. gutted but will hopefully get it the next time!
This girl is literally no where near taking a test being able to pass, not even remotely close. And she has a test in the next week after this video? She's the reason they're all so booked up, she's not even prepared in the slightest it actually feels disrespectful as someone whos nearing their test, practising every single day looking at what i can and cant do.
I think from seeing the in car vid, a lot of her ‘hesitation’ issue is because she is not looking around at the situation in front before she gets there….she kinda pulls up at the Give Way line, stops, then looks to see if she can go instead of keeping it flowing when possible. Anticipation is key.
It helps when you are over prepared and have addressed your know faults and gotten as harsh a feedback and appropriate validation as is fitting for what level of skill you are. Some examiners do not have nice personalities When you are doing a maneuver and driving straight at higher speeds your breathing rate, heart rate and reaction increases in pace if you are anxious. Perhaps seeing that only hazard recognition should and a need to deescalate the delineation by slowing down is Tim (since you have left sufficient gap) and that you have done your mirror checks snd still are dyre of the situation around you can help. You want to be the least triggering object on the road, slower speeds means you will steer softly Coming from someone who drove like it was a racing game and though I just needed to "blend in". My first test scared my examiner, second test, I had one major for slowing down for a pedestrian who was waiting to cross after a round about. Sad that I didn't make the mistake during my lessons. But driving is supposed to keep you relaxed and proactive, not supposed to be a test of your reflexes
1:33 That procedure checks the brake lights are working To brake test, creep forward and slam the anchors on so your front passsenger claps their face off your dash, which also checks your passenger has their belt on .. two birds ehh In my opinion, when undergoing a driving assessment, it helps to vocalise every manoeuvre and why you're doing it (or at least speak out loud the important actions taken) I'd do a mock, after having my license over 20 years, just to identify all of the bad habits I have acquired

no idea if you'll respond to this comment considering it's a year old video, but I've noticed that I also struggle with hesitation and acting appropriately mainly during rush hour on school roads. I've been watching videos on hazard perception, done a mock test- same issue. I've no clue what else I can do, any help? (I have been doing some practice driving with my mum in her car also).
You said the first question was correct, it was wrong. You asked, how would you check the breaks are working not the break lights. The answer was you should press the breaks and they shouldn't be slack or spongy, also you can move forwards slowly and test them before you start your journey 😉
@@DrivingSchoolTV Yoo!! I just passed with only 1 minor fault for correcting my reverse bay manoeuvre. The Examiner said I was already parked in the bay so there was no need to correct. I done it just to be safe, by pulling forwards slighty so I could get a better view of the lines either side of me. I've never taken a driving lesson in my life, all my knowledge came from you guys RUclips videos and being a little sh*t when I was a teenager teaching myself the basics 😅😇... 🙏🥳 THANKS TO YOU AND ALL THE INSTRUCTORS WHO HAVE POSTED CONTENT!! Remember that we're only seeing one part of her driving and nerves play a huge part in tests where you would ordinarily be very good at something. That's the best thing about doing mock tests in the run up to the practical test, to give you a chance to get used to the idea of a test, calm your nerves and deal with any issues 😁
@@DrivingSchoolTV i agree but would you let a driver take a test waste money when in ur mind u know they ain't ready i know nerves play a part but i would rather be honest with ppl than give them false hope remember sapphire had her test in 4 day's of that mock test i wasn't trying be nasty just honest not all driving instructors are good just cos ur qualified at something doesn't make u good at it i just thought sapphire had to little knowledge and ability i would definitely question her instructor SORRY just my opinion as a driver of 35 years experience
I was ridiculously confident, wasn't getting any faults on my mock tests. Managed to pass the actual test with 5 minors, I knew I'd messed up every time. The point is, the mock tests aren't a fool proof way of deciding someone's ability or the outcome on test day.
@@dizzydozdb i agree but in my opinion some instructors put ppl in for Tests when there not ready the test has got harder but i think the standard of Driving as a whole as got worse i Think the test is all wrong knowing where to put my oil ain't gonna improve there driving I'm not being nasty to any learner just realistic the thing that scared me for her safety was the bike overtake and the fact she said she didn't know what was and wasn't a roundabout we all make mistakes even as a qualified driver but there are good driver's and bad same goes for instructors we pay for there experience not there pity i would rather be told I'm not ready than let me lose when i ain't at the end mock instructor said they would go over her faults surely if her instructor did there job properly he wouldn't have to it just scared me the amount of fault's some serious i wish Sapphire NOTHING but good luck in the future on her driving i would rather hear the truth for my own safety
Driving School TV Totally agree, for some reason when I knew I could ask my instructor what to do, I was test ready. But the second he said “I can’t answer any questions”, I really struggled.
Definitely not ready not being harsh, it might of been nerves but she don’t have the experience. You asked how to check the brakes are working. She gave you the answer for the break lights. Correct answer is to push on brake peddle and it shouldn’t feel slack or spongy, and the car shouldn’t pull to one side when breaking.
You are correct. I was watching her feet and thinking about the sick edits I could do with a fade in pedal cam and only half listening. She sounded so confident 😂
I passed my test second time they made me do the reverses back two car length both tests they don’t do the harder monoverous anymore cuz they want everyone to pass cuz of covid
Francis you are way too nice, it’s not good for the students. There were at least 2 more major faults in that mock tests. 1. The amount of hesitations 2. Helping her to go at that junction And that’s just from watching causally

Good luck!! Let us know how you get on!
Thanks, will do✌
@@DrivingSchoolTV Yoo!! I love her :))
SORRY but Sapphire isn't ready for her test her instructor must be a poor teacher her Driving ability was worrying i Think
Wrong answer on tell me question!
This is good to know. I've been dreading reverse bay parking.
Congrats Hawkar!! But this is definitely not true. The pass rate on tests hasn’t changed before and after Covid. Be ready for any manoeuvre!!
@@DrivingSchoolTV Doh! 😂😭
Brakes, not break lights 😠 it was the question
Francis you are way too nice, it’s not good for the students. There were at least 2 more major faults in that mock tests.
1. The amount of hesitations
2. Helping her to go at that junction
And that’s just from watching causally
If you watched to the feedback I did say that that many hesitation faults would be enough to fail but I’ll take that on board thank you 😊
Hey Francis, did she pass
Unfortunately not. But she's booked again so hope to bring you a pass pic from Sapphire soon!
@@DrivingSchoolTV l have faith in her she will do it, we all learn from our mistakes
