  • 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class crossover gets new tech, new engine
Believe it or not, the styling changed, too
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class crossover is getting a light refresh. Yes, we know, we weren't quite sure what changed at first glance either, but there are changes! On the outside, the headlights have been reshaped to be more aggressive like those on the A-Class and CLS-Class. The metal trim in the front and rear lower fascias has also been made larger. The taillights changed, too.
The interior is almost entirely carryover with the exception of the infotainment system. Now the GLC-Class will have the MBUX infotainment rolling out in every other Merc model. It will include all the different control options such as voice, center console touch pad, touch screen, and steering wheel touch pads. The center display has been updated to a 10.25-inch widescreen, too. An optional upgrade is swapping the physical gauges for a 12.3-inch screen.
The 2020 GLC-Class also gets a new four-cylinder engine. It's turbocharged and has the same displacement as the old version, but it makes 14 extra horsepower for a total of 255. Torque is the same at 273 pound-feet. The engine will continue to be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes didn't mention anything about a replacement hybrid model.
The GLC-Class will be hitting dealers late in 2019. Pricing has not been announced yet, but will likely be available later this year. We expect it to be similar to the GLC 300's current base price of $41,695.

Glad I waited. Was going to go in and get the 2019 after I saw it at the auto show. Someone mentioned to me that it would be coming by summer and previewed in march. Very nice. Hopefully still the same price points.

im glad LED is standard now. the 350 is enough to putt around town, but youll need 4matic not to feel under powered, on the other hand the 450 is almost too much for most daily when you consider the 18/22 mpg. the worse thing is, its still not as solid as the smaller GLA, now some might say its because the GLA is built in Germany and the GLC is built in indiana. but there is notably fit-n-finnish and QC difference between the two. the GLA and GLC similarly equipped are only about $60usdm a month difference. you get a extra 9 cubic feet, and 1.25 inches in the back seat in the GLC. i think the GLC starts to shine when you start getting in to the AMG line, where the GLA becomes toy-ish. on the lower tier thought a 4matic GLA is faster then the same GLC surely do to weight. however you will want to look at the new GLE is the best of both and is undoubtedly going to be a star in the MBusa line up for 2020 w/a premium price tag as well.

When does the test start? I didn't see one, just roads and trails that my 1982 Mercedes can do. Next time actually test the car and don't just use B-roll from Mercedes themselves.

It has the new one. just not the dual screen setup. (it has digital speedometer tho), so it works the same way as the dual screen system. There are videos demonstrating it.

I won't want to be the one receiving the repairing bill for this vehicle after that initial rough ride on the rocky shallow river bed. This is not a range rover or 4Runner, why pretends it to be. It is a semi-luxury on road vehicle.

Mercedes WHY is your Interior space so tiny unbelievable?? If a typical Honda or Toyota can do it!! Why can't Mercedes!! I can never fit two much luggage or bikes in your back. It's a shame
