  • In this short tutorial, we explain how to use one of Forest Pack's built-in effects to scatter items onto geometry that is being displaced at render time.

    Very convoluted. I wish Itoo would focus on user friendliness with all the functionality.

    Awesome, super glad this a problem you've thought of =).

    it doesn't seem to work with composite maps.

    Thanks, macros are very useful tools! But what about corona render? Hope it's the same way with corona displacement

      Hi, Thanks for the question. This should work with Corona Displacement too. In theory anything that gives you a real-world displacement amount should work.

      @@itoosoft ACtually it does not. I think the reason is, that Shift and Amount work differently than Max and MIN values in Corona displacement. Even, when copying the same values, we get different levels between ground and scattered objects :( That happens when using the VALUE method. When using the CONTROLLER method, my software instantly crashes. I would love that to work tho...

      @@godzil666 Thanks for reporting this. We'll take a look to double check and see if a version can be created that works better with the Corona version of displacement.

      @@itoosoft That's hell of a news! Thanks for taking care of that

    How do you displace if the displacement modifier is set to use the materials instead of a single map node? There are multiple materials mixed with a blend material. Can you add support for that?

    • @itoosoft
      @itoosoft  2 года назад +1

      That's a challenging case. In that instance you would have to blend all the displacement maps together and add them to the Forest Effect. I'm afraid there's not a way at present that we can automatically select the displacement from the material assigned to the surface.

      @@itoosoft thanks, that's understandable. Might work with a composite map node.

    A bit of a clumsy way of picking the controller, especially when you have a massive tree of objects, they are not even sorted alphabetically. Thanks anyway
