Megadeth never lost quality. That is what makes them unique and eternal.
Slayer Slayer and Slayer!!!
not even true, they started to get repetitive like 20 years ago after marty, not a hater i love them but...
Never lost quality?? Have you ever heard Risk, how about supercollider or 13?? All shit albums they never play any songs live. Lets be real its cool to like any band but dont kiss their ass just cuz ur a fanboii. Never lost quality my ass. I know i like megadeth and bought all their albums and yeah i regret buying a few cuz they completely suck. But they have some classics too

Many metal bands were once good and once discredited. BUT MEGADETH NEVER CHANGED. MEGADETH has always been and will remain a legend.
It is like you forgot that Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, Risk, and Supercollider exist.
@@asmodai2025 wtf is wrong with Countdown to Extinction?

The BEST comment 😂😂😂😂😂 love it
That bit played just as I read this
"We see each other through different eyes
Segregating ourselves by class and size
It's me against you and everything they do
This planet's become one big spinning disaster"
5 years later, this lyric has become more relevant than ever.
I know this isn't everybody's taste in music. But it needs to spread and be heard. The message in this song is true and very scary
Wait until you discover Meshuggah and their song 'Dancers to a Discordant System'.
The lyrics are literally everything that's wrong in this world.
ᴅᴇ ʟᴜꜱᴛᴇʟᴏᴏꜱ excellent comment. Just read the lyrics and you are on point.
Facts, my fellow Sooners fan.
People need to listen.
Why are they trying to kill Rock and Metal? Because they speak truth.
Yeah that’s what they did to conscious hip hop from the late 80’s-90’s. Like public enemy, rakim, wu-tang clan, krs-one etc...
now it's 2022 and the message is unfolding at an extremely fast rate..the collapse is coming soon
The acoustic part at 2:25 to 2:40 was magnificent, amazing job Kiko Loureiro.
I believe at this point Dave has earned the right to say "I told you so"
Yes, quite a few of us have
Time to rise or die a slave
Megadeth is the perfect archetype of commitment and sensibility. Respects from Algeria, North Africa.
Dystopia is a proof that Megadeth is time-traveling band :D
They released the album in 2016, but it sounds like it's from 1986.
Love it
Production is too crisp, but I could imagine these lyrics and riffs holding up back then
Id say 90s,Down-Tuned Tunings didnt exist until early 90’s the Guitars are down tuned as you hear on this album
@@pestenoir2213 yeah you guys are right, but I meant the tempo and riffs :)
Dystopia is the conclusion to Peace Sells...But Who's Buying.
@@pestenoir2213 Lol what? Down tunings definitely existed long before the 90's buddy. The Boys Are Back In Town came out in '76 and that was Eb.
Also Sabotage by Black Sabbath was in C# and that came out in 75...
You have no idea what you're talking about.
Dystopia is a masterpiece, each year looks better. A true metal album, one of the few in years in this segment !!!
dave is such a good guitarist
Said everyone everywhere ever
The best!
Have you seen Kiko? Dream team. But Dimebag was about to join Megadeth at one point, (CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?!?), but he then refused because Dave had just hired Menza and he would only join if Dave let his brother Vinnie Paul in the band as well to be the drummer.
@@Super.AmmarI0 As good as Dimebag is, I just don't think he'd fit very well in Megadeth
@@joshuagonzalez1177 I thought that as well, but Dime is a very versatile player, he doesn't only play southern style groove metal like in Pantera, he is a huge Kiss fan, you probably know he was buried in a Kiss casket, he created amazing melodies from almost any guitar genre, he would most certainly create unforgettable melodies for Megadeth's extra-terrestrial "Rust In Peace" Dystopian style. Not to mention he would probably have still been ALIVE! :(
I can’t explain it, but something about Megadeth’s music has always been special for me. Dave’s unique voice variations and his heartfelt lyrics. Great storytelling in a lot of songs, and great melodies. Just a FUN band to listen to.
I met Dave back in 2015 and he was really cool.
I got his autograph and a picture with him. Wish I could have gotten a guitar pick.
I'm jealous mustaine the beast metal singer ever no comparison to his dominating voice hellya
nice
If i could get a pick I would frame that shit
I've got pick from him after concert in belgium, and took photo as well
carpe diem That’s awesome
WOW! Dave stayed true to his roots and did not disappoint!
Original Megadeth, as in Dave-Junior-Chris-Gar, and radio rock ventures, as in Cryptic Writings and Risk...or as in the atrocious Super Collider? This song in particular is pretty mainstreamish, very similar to Symphony of Destruction, but the album itself is quite far from that. There are many songs with lots of solos, complex structuring and many of the songs are mainly instrumental, just like on their best records imo, Rust in Peace, PS...BWB and KIMB...ABIG.
What did you have against Super Collider? Granted it wasn't quite as good as Thirteen, but I still haven't fully warmed up to Dystopia either, so I find a lot of songs on Super Collider a lot more enjoyable than this album. Can't be their worst album ever, I think just about everyone agrees that award goes to Risk.
Did not really like thirteen or Super collider, however Dystopia is one of my favourite albums ever

Kiko is seriously one of the most talented guitarists in a LONG time! His style is actually quite similar to Maty's
Marty fits more like a neo classical guitarist than in thrash
Kasia i completely agree with you. Kiko has a singular style.
There is no one like Marty Freidman. His guitar solos were implanted into his brain by aliens from another galaxy. There are thousands of guitarists that sound like Kiko however...
Kasia, agreed. He's style has that Brazilian jazzy flavour that makes solos sound really rich.
Any guitar player can do this. Settle down
'crushing all the dissenters who still think for themselves'
Turn off the scare porn TV, the tide is beginning to turn, still gonna be rough, but we will be better for this
I have been a Megadeth fan since oh hell the mid 80's. Saw them in a bar when Dave first started touring. Loved them since then. Dave's music just gets better all the time. I will be a fan until I leave this earth. No better metal band out there.

He definitely knows what has been going on for a very long time! Honestly I think he has been trying to get us to pay attention and get into politics.
The corruption goes deeper than you would ever think possible, also has been going on for a very very long time. Several past presidents have tried to warn us. JFK was the one who really wanted us to know! He paid the ultimate price, just listen to the last speech he did before he was murdered.

Man, sure seems we're on the verge of "whats coming next."
the wit and wisdom of people who spend all their life reading studying and philosophizing though history, still finds time to stay on top of the game of the top tier in metal music, or music in general really as an art and reflection of society.

Between this, The Threat is Real, and Dystopia, we are living in a damn Medadeth song in 2021.
Amazing how they can so accurately portray the future with this album
Is it really predicting the future when he's just singing about a common political sentiment of the time? Nothing said in this song is revolutionary or new. It's just what the American politics have been for the past 20+ years. One side wins and the losers cry oppression and end of America until the next elections and then the cycle continues.
Broderick was awesome , but Kiko just fits in Megadeth perfectly , much like Marty did back in the day !!
Broderick was an awesome plank of wood, just like many of the other guitar teachers on RUclips. Kiko on the other hand is a music composer and guitar virtuoso that had 6 months to understand And learn Megadeth music. As a result great tracks like this came into fruition that just makes Megadeth sound fresh and modern.

It's nice that they gave credit to Chris Ad.
Without him Distopya (album) wouldn't be so great.
Another honourable act of Megadeth.
The album was mostly written without him.. But he certainly brought the drumming energy needed for Megadeth as well as the groove.. Its some of the best drum work on a Megadeth album since The System Has Failed.
Exactly.
Most of the song are written by Mustaine/Ellefeson.
The addition of Kiko and Adler resulted on a really good album.
Fortunately they hired a drummer as good as Adler.
I sincerely think Kiko is going to stay for pretty good time on the band.

Did you actually buy the CD and read the booklet? All songs were written by Big Dave with the exception of a couple and they were co written by Dave and Kiko. Not Chris Adler.
I was referring to verbal / informal acknowledgement about their abilities as in interviews and stuff; it was primordial to the quality of the songs.

Lyrics tell a story and even though it doesn't have to, a great song should tell a great story. Telling great stories.. or writing great songs is one thing but great songs with meaningful stories about true life current events is not easy. Writing great songs about true life current events for 30+ years is rare. But writing great songs about true life current events that tell great stories for 30+ yrs. AND they are just as true and meaningful today as the day they were written down... THAT my friends is something that goes beyond everything else. It's layers deep and it is something to be admired and respected as excellence and dedication to passion and love for their fans.
Black Sabbath and Megadeth have this almost prophetic ability to write songs with value & substance that lasts decades.
I am most grateful to them and I am thankful I was able to hear the stories that are twisted and intertwined among the music that fueled my youth and still..
(at 49yrs old today fuckers!) .. pisses off my neighbors.
🤘 🤣 🖕
3:14 Kiko imitates beautifully Hangar-18 solo !!! the arpeggios and the bends !!
This song is a masterpiece! This is true heavy metal that deals with real-world issues; tangible and persisting ones. And this is what I loveeeeeeee about Megadeth.
O super guitarrista Kiko Loureiro arrebentando no Megadeth
I hope America doesn't lose it soul. They have hit the nail on the head with this song. That is why i listen to them as there among the few that make sense with all the chaos that is going on.
@lawlesslee1405 I know deep down Americans know they are like the great Phoenix which will rise from its asses and take its place once against as the almighty power house. All that is need is for the cancerous woke rot that has taken hold of the nations minds to be ejected and sent back to where it once came.
