This video is about Basic English Verb Structures. In English, as in many languages, the order of the different types of words in a sentence is important. This structure determines the meaning of the sentence. In this video, we will look at the three main structures for verbs: positive, negative, and questions.
These three easy structures are the same for any verb, in any tense. This is the framework that all communication in English is based on.
Remembering these three simple patterns will help you speak English with confidence!
This video is part of our series on verbs and grammar.
The English Language Club teaches English as a foreign language through free videos on RUclips as well as interactive exercises and teaching material on our website.

Hey, English Language Club, the new contraction words are now in life and they have 2 apostrophes. They're like we'ren't, and she'sn't. They have the subject auxiliary verb and not. It goes like this: Subject'Auxiliary'Not. Can you put these words to browser if their clause is in the negative structures please?

I would not advise any student to use contractions as they are confusing at the moment of writing them and pronouncing them. If a second language student does not have a good pronunciation nor a good understanding of all tenses, modal verb, auxiliary verb he/she will be absolutely confused. i.e. They´re .. their ... there (pronunciation will be much relevant here. Or We´d = we did, we would, we had. Many students hardly know the present perfect or past perfect tense, and in the worse scenario, they hardly know the use of the modals.
