Wow, Megan thank you so much! I'm honored you enjoyed the Mustang!! Really cool to hear your thoughts on all the pedals and how they vibe with you. Hope you're having a great winter, and I appreciate what you have done for the pedal community!
I thought the limelight was a shoe-in for top 5 and then the model fet came along and absolutely blew my socks off. Truly an amazing pedal 🧡 thanks for making such cool stuff! 😁
Awesome list! Model feT was a 2022 highlight for me as well. Mustang is currently en route and looking to be another favorite. Your demo was what made me grab that one!
Great wrap-up! I'm happy any time I see the Mustang getting some well-deserved love, and the illustration you have up at the end is freaking EPIC! Hope that ends up on an album cover some day, but even if not it certainly highlights your all-time favorite, always-on pedals. See you in 2023!
I'm all for the mustang gettin' more love. It's perfect! And thank you thank you thank you!! I wanted to draw something that'd be cool on a shirt hahaha. I call it "post-apedalypse" 😂
That’s a great list! Love the inclusion of soft focus, might try one down the line! My top 5 for this year are: EAE Halberd V2 - no need explanation for this one! Sunless Effect Cold Lands preamp - based on Matamp GT120 (usually for doom), but love it on its lower gain setting! A very dynamic preamp pedal that’s very sensitive to your pick attack. JPTR FX Kaleidoscope - a very ambient belton brick reverb, and also usable in its subtle setting. Keeley Eccos - probably the best echo delay pedal I’ve played, and really versatile! And can be used as a chorus pedal too! KMA Chief Disruptor - one of the most versatile muff on the market! Love this one on bass.
I really really loved this, the samples and also to hear your voice with your thoughts on each of your pedal favs. I will always love that I get to see Ghost echo in your vids, I am very sentimental for that reverb always. I’ve been really curious about soft focus because I had both loomer and the realizer that had the soft focus but really couldn’t bond with them.. the volume myself I’ve found I really need recently as well so maybe 2023 I’ll look into a way to find one on reverb. Really really loved this 2022 roundup Meg. I loved the expanse tremolo too
Thanks so much Jo!! I was doing some reading on the soft focus vs. the keeley versions and the consensus seems to be they're pretty different! Volume knob is so clutch I love it
This year, I really liked the Shoe pedals overdrive (I got because of your video). Very strange, but the yellow Ibanez flanger I like a lot too. and some others. I hope to see more of those visual pedal videos next year.
I really dig your channel art, font choice, presentation and SOUNDS. It's a whole vibe. Jus' dropping some anonymous love to a channel I just discovered
Solid solid list! Idk if/when I'll get around to a year-end roundup but Mustang and Limelight would absolutely be on mine too. Nowwww I need an Arigato and RE-202 in my life lol
Haha well I'm really really really hoping you do one because I'd love to know what you'd pick and also it'd probs leave me wanting those pedals too lol
Agreed, RE-202 was the only pick I could’ve foreseen. Was excited to see Megan’s choices this year, esp after last year’s list. Loved them all + the honorable mentions.
❤ awesome rundown! Will you do a current pedal board rundown to start the year? Would love to see what pedals you’ve reviewed that have become mainstays.
@@MeganL Can't wait! I love hearing your insight on how you choose pedals, your 2021 pedalboard rundown made me more thoughtful about my pedalboard choices.
Thanks so much for all of your demos! I found your channel for the first time this year and love your personality and _love_ your demo format! Your illustrations are so fun, the mix and settings diagrams are so helpful and useful, and your jams are super enjoyable and fun! Thank you for sharing your incredible talent, your gear expertise, and yourself with all of us! ✌️😌🎸
Great video. Super useful descriptions and I love the jams/sound examples. The re-202 is my favorite pedal of the year too. Now I'm curious about the soft focus as well.
I just found your channel and haven’t subscribed faster to any other! Love the breakdown of pedals, but especially the awesome mixes you create to demo each and the visual of the signal chain on each instrument. Just awesome. Keep it up!!’
Looking forward to more from you in 2023! Really refreshing format and playing, compared to the usual stale stuff out there. Can I ask you what you use for your drum tracks? Thanks!
@@MeganL yeah, i love putting it after a big ambient reverb, the chorus gives it a really unique, laggy modulation sound and the drive gives it a rough distorted edge without completely destroying the verb
Hey Megan L. I love your page and everything you do. With that being said. I just bought the Hydrasynth. I love the onboard effects, but I want some pedals because I feel down the rabbit hole. Can you recommend any budget-friendly delay pedals reverb pedal and chorus. I was looking at tc electronic. Any suggestions
Sure! Some of my favorite budget pedals in those categories are Chorus: TC 3rd dimension, EHX small clone, Ibanez mini chorus (haven’t tried this one but heard really great things) Delay: MXR carbon copy, Boss DM-2w, or Boss DD-7/DD-8 Reverb: Boss RV-6, or EHX holy grail

🧡🧡🧡 aw that's so sweet thank you James!! And thank you for making the mustang as cool as it is :D
The list I look forward to the most!
Hey Megan, in world of RUclips guitar/gear clones, you are a true original. Thanks for all the great vids in 2022!

Brilliant selections. Cheers. All the best for 2023
Great list! Gonna get the mustang for my son’s bass rig. Thank you!
Nice list! I think my favorite of the year has to be the Vongon Ultrasheer
Nice! It's on my roster for 2023! Really excited to get into it 😁

This is a wonderful, annual tradition. Thank you for another great year-end round up!
That jam for the re202 sounded like Radiohead.
Nice picks this year.
Thank you! That's awesome to hear I was definitely going for that vibe haha!
I'm a pedal geek too. Nice vid! Subscribed.

my favourite pedal I got this year was easily sirens by Pinebox Customs. just so many fantastic sounds in there
ah the sirens is awesome! Had one last year. The drive on it is absolutely gnarly right?! Love it!
