The black widow is like a chameleon. She changes her personality depending on who she is with I get the feeling she doesn't know who she is underneath it all.
Blame the Red Room for that they taught her & other girls how to themselves when they go out on missions to get close to their targets. Can Natasha settle down & be happy with a family the answer's no. She isn't happy unless she's on a mission Steve wants to settle down & have a family one day Natasha can't give him that IMO they are wrong for each other. Despite what's in the comics or cartoon Steve & Natasha don't mix. Steve & Darcy or Steve & Wanda (Yes) I know Wanda is with Vision in the comics but I'm using my imagination.
Exactly what the Red Room taught her. Her personality is very fluid. It makes her an interesting character because she never acts the same around different people.
darthen856 I don't think there's anything real about her the real Natasha died when her parents did. When she got put in the Red Room the Black Widow was born.
In this scene, Tasha seemed surprised that Mr Boy Scout stole a car; when he tells her they're only 'borrowing' it her face says 'whoa, you really are the goody-goody I took you for', like she was waiting to find out that he was too good to be true and he genuinely surprised her. Since she changes her behaviour to suit the person she's with and she's all about lies while Cap is as honest as they come (except about who he's kissed), she seems a bit perplexed by him and who she should be around him. His staunch moral code is so not her style, she can't reciprocate it - though she did end up being pretty forthright with him about her spy's approach to everything.
FallenAngel McFeely said they both contributed to the script. Mentioned this scene specifically. Quoting him, "And then he and Scarlett were involved in that scene in the car when they're driving to Camp Lehigh and they're talking about kissing and all that."
While I, like many others, feel that Marvel's decision to not capitalize on the chemistry between Steve and Natasha, it kind of makes sense why they paired her up with Banner. Natasha was choosing between a noble gorgeous superhuman stud or a nice nerdy guy whose alter ego has a big green cock.
0.13 Steve tells Natasha to take her feet off the dash Steve was being assertive but just showing his personality. Natasha is there admiring and quietly saying to herself, Wow... did this guys just put me in place? I am a killer spy and this guy has balls and just put me in check. During a film where the organization he's working for is unveiled to be filled with Hydra agents, you can't blame Steve for wanting just one person to trust in.
Everyone wants what they can't have. It's a story as old as Adam and Eve and the Forbidden fruit. My late friend, back in his youth, would see all his buddies falling over themselves to impress these gorgeous girls, while he would do the exact opposite. He was confident and friendly, but not flirty, and that made these girls more intrigued by him, because unlike his buddies, he wasn't lusting after them. And because he wasn't lusting after them, it made him look more self-assured, like he had it together.
Their relationship was written so much better than the Banner/Natasha one. It feels so jarring to see a scene like this, then watch Disney's Marvel's The Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron, and see that she's instead into Banner, when they have no natural chemistry.
This was actually supposed to be Sharon Carter. Publicity agent politics and actress availability got Sharon sidelined and Black Widow into the role, which is why they wrote it so close to romantic, it was meant to be a cannon character that is romantically involved with Steve, not Black Widow. It ended up being out of character for both of them. It was supposed to be a setup of Steve's cinematic relationship with Sharon that is more like how they were in the comics. And while I like the movie and Cap's interaction with BW, both did a great job, as a fan of Sharon in the comics, I'm bummed that they did this.

Love that defiant little smile of hers after Steve's "feet off the dash" command. She's jokingly pushing his buttons, but also testing his boundaries to see just what he wants from her. For example, if Steve only had some lustful or romantic interest in her, a skilled secret agent like Natasha could probably figure out how to string him along until any emotional attachment (or physical one) becomes a liability. However, what Nat doesn't realize until later is that STEVE REALLY IS JUST THAT HONEST. He's forgiving, friendly, and really does care about her well-being as they go through this crazy journey together to stop HYDRA. Steve's goodness and openness starts rubbing off on her too. She's much more forward about her attraction to Banner in "Age of Ultron," for instance.

Tasha's issue is the Red Room raised her to be perfectly adaptable. She can shift into whatever role is required for her mission. They went out of their way to delete any and all independent emotional and personality identity. In a normal life she still does that because it's what is comfortable for her. However she does have a consistent character. That of redemption. She's desperate to make up for all the shit the Red Room made her do. It's her single functional life goal. To "wipe the red from her ledger". Think about her like Famke Janssen's character in the TNG Episode "The Perfect Mate" she literally telepathically adapted to every single male she came across as their ideal woman. She finalized on Picard in part because she liked who she was when she was adapted to him. I think that the reason she's so excellent in this film is that the person she's adapted to is Captain Freaking America. For a woman who is dedicated to doing good to make up for her past, altering her behavior to work well with Steve Rogers is perfect. She doesn't have to think about it, if she's following Cap's moral compass, then there's no way she can go wrong. And having someone who she can actually trust completely is extremely important to her since she's from a world, a business, where that is never the case. Also note how Tasha behaved when Cap said he trusted her, her the old Soviet Spy. Suddenly the guy who is the most heroic, the one good man, says she's trustworthy. Probably the highest validation of her personal character she had received since Clint took her in. The question I think some are asking is who is she when she's alone and there's no one to play off of and no mission to focus on. I think the answer is someone who is quiet and depressed. She just thinks about all the things she's guilty of.

Her face at 1:20, though--this woman is all manner of alluring. She could have chemistry with a brick wall...
+InvisibleBlues But not Mark Ruffalo. Weird
“Now take your feet off the dash” he’s such a mom
I can't believe this scene is only a minute and thirty, it's so...rich.
"Take your feet off the dash" lol Natasha looks at him like "bitch, tf you just say to me" *reluctantly complies*
+Michaela Terrazas
I never saw it like that.
She does a little smirk/smile, it seems she likes/ finds it funny that Steve is chiding her on good manners
+Bridie O'Donnell yep she does enjoy it, after being slightly irritated that he said that to her
+Michaela Terrazas She's thinking, can't believe I have the hots for this grandpa
@@NotSpillingTheTea and it also shows Steve carries for her because if there was be car crash she would probably 💀
This scene is one of my favourite in the entire movie. It's gorgeously written dialogue that says so much about its characters and who they are.
I like them as friends. If they take the romantic route or continue with the platonic, that's okay with me. But I can't help but smile watching this!
Whoever thought it was a good idea to give Black Widow a role in this film, deserves a raise. Black Widow is such a great character played by such a great actress, thankfully she's getting her own film.
Well this didn't age well.......
@@harvinator1981lmaoooooo
“It’s kinda hard to find someone with shared life experience” - feel like that line came straight from Chris Evans himself
who knows maybe it did.
Still the greatest superhero movie of all-time
Steve and Natasha had build their relationship throughout MCU films, from teammates to friends, and their chemistry is too great and genuine to be ignored as potential romance, canon or not I will ship them to end of MCU
He saw her soul?
yeah but hes not interested it it will never ever ever ever ever happen so dont get your dreams up buddy because u fantasizing about something that will never come
@@jaylemiere7283 he saw her soul and became her soul mate?
ramz what evidence do you have to prove that that thwy were in any boyfriend girlfriend relationship
@@jaylemiere7283 lol I don't believe there were... just making a pun
Bruce: "What do you mean, 'up close'??"
FRIENDZONED my ship is sinking!
these two should hook up
No... clintasha for life😠😠
who said they haven’t
Emmy Hutts he has a family stupid
Daniel Forth no hes not interested
Jesley de la Cruz me and marvel
Whoever decided to cast Chris Evans as Captain America did an amazing job. Who knew the egomaniac from Fantastic 4 would be able to pull off such a cool role. Can't imagine any other actor in the role now.
The writing, directing, and acting in this scene is beautiful. In just a minute and a half, u get such a clear sense of both their different goals and approaches to life
Steve: Take your feet off the dash.
Natasha: Okay, daddy!
you wish u stupid fucker
'It's hard to find someone with shared life experience' - Steve, both your scenes with Sam so far have been you bonding over shared experiences.
yah but he's not gay. He's got plenty of friends.
This is by far my favourite Marvel Film. It’s perfect for me in almost every respect. Every character in it has their best portrayal in my opinion.
This is one of my favorite movies, and this is my favorite scene in the movie.
If cap is in a film in 2020 there should be a party scene in that film celebrating his 100th birthday.
He'd be 100 in 2018, not 2020.
Yep, Zola confirmed that when they entered his computerized brain room. he also said "Natalia Romanova, born 1984"...meaning Nat is 34 by the events of "Infinity War".
almos same age she is in real life
he would be 99 in 2018, this movie is from 2014
Im totally Buffering hol up.
Holy shit Captain America/Steve is 100 this year, which is when Avengers Endgame comes out. Which he may die during Endgame. Well then. How about that for a turn of events.
My goodness, talk about on screen chemistry.
Widow just got FRIENDZONED😱
00:07 "take your feet off the dash"....probly my fav line in the movie lol...Quintessential Captain America!!
And that kids is how you friend zone one of the sexiest/most wanted actress from holywood. Cap, my respects.
In 5 years she will be 40 anyway...
Bob Bobson dude 5 years is a long time
Bob Bobson 5 years, 10 years, shiiiiit... 20 years later and I’m still smashing 😂
iCanAfford but she wouldn't smash u because she is smashing proffessor hulk
@@bobbobson110 and so what?
she wouldn't be less beauty and pretty actually
and everybody on this planet is getting older and older with every MINUTE so..
I LOVE these 2 together. ^_^
I love this scene !!! Mostly what Natasha say It's exactly how I see her personnality and the acting of Scarlett Johansson is perfect
And he stole another car in the civil war movie
“The truth is a matter of circumstances, it’s not all things to all people all the time… neither am I.” I feel like I say that all the time
He isn't looking at the road for most of this conversation how
He has super soldier serum
God I love this type of dialogue.
0:58 when she said that why did it hurt me🥺🥺
I've watched this scene a million times.... I don't ship them romantically but I LOVE their relationship. It's beautiful
agreed
I wanted James Rogers to happen🤣
Everyone here saying he friendzoned Nat was completely opposite for me. Here in my place when a guy ask you to be 'friends' that means he is interested and just checking the water if the girl is available and is also interested in him 😂
Cap is 95 years old here, the same age of Stan Lee when he pass away.
R. I. P Stan Lee
R.I.P ✝️.
Captain America is incorruptible... except when it comes to stealing cars.
Batman is truly incorruptible. I know he's from DC
Firedude 1 Except when it’s comes to killing midgets
I ❤️Captain America
I hate how they shelved this for that out of no where Bruce and Natasha love shit
hands down the best acting in the MCU was Scarlett and Robert. This scene is a big example of Scarlett's acting.
For Robert, it was in Civil war when he found out bucky killed his parents
I love their friendship. Like seriously id prefer nat and steve over freaking sharon carter jeez. But like peggy is always the best
0:28 is still my favourite moment out of this scene.
2004: the perfect score- that bad huh?
2014: ca: winter soldier- that bad huh?
My favorite dialogue in the whole MCU. Two people who see the world differently, but still trust and respect each other.
The ships...oh, the SHIPS...
"Was that your first kiss since 1945?"
"That bad, huh?"
"I'm 95. I'm not dead"
So Cap is a 95-year-old virgin hahaha! Lol
She looks so good with straight hair
It's the quiet moments...
Did anyone else love the journey these two went on during this film? Trying to udriddle the questions behind Shield.
yeah a little even though they were just friends this show how people who have great chemistry dont need to date but be supportive friends
Well there's a chance you might be in the wrong business, Rogers.
"Believe it or not, it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experiences"
Me: WHAT ABOUT BUCKY???
That's why the Russo's are such good directors and why Steve will stop at nothing to protect Bucky later on in Civil War.
he didnt know about bucky at that point
It's weird. I know what happened in this movie and all the other avenger movies, somehow when I watch this again, it still gives me chills and makes me anxious for what's gonna happen next
One of the best scenes in the MCU.
Caps answer to everything now: “NaZi GeRmAnY sOn!”
"The year was 1944"
Natasha- "What do you want me to be?"
Steve- "Friends...
with benefits..."
They had Natashas character spot on in this film. They destroyed it in AoU and just made her the boring damsel in distress, which she is not. We only saw the real Natasha in TWS and Civil War. Let’s hope we get to see her again in Endgame.
well the only thing that was great in Aou was brutasha but this is my opinion
This aged well
@@jaylemiere7283 yes it is and thankfully so because age of ultron was very good with or without brutasha.
Am I the only one content with their beautiful friendship?
No, because their beautiful friendship get ruined if they are with someone else. People don't seem to get that your significant other should a its foundation your best friendship.
U can't tell me u watched this scene and not feel bad for Nat like the red room she has no actually personality and it makes me so sad
"Hi we're Marvel and we're willing to remind everyone of our biggest failures ever we don't bury the past and this is how little we care about our many failures go ahead and search them up aren't we delightful."
Johansson's best MCU performance in my opinion.
