LeBron on the cover of Sports Illustrated labeled the Chosen One before he even did a single workout for an NBA team. I don't remember anybody complaining about all the hype & how LeBron was shoved down our throats. By the way, +ESPN doesn't operate in the sports business any longer. The days of highlights are over. No one watches Sportscenter, anymore. +ESPN is in the hype business. That's what they do. First Take, Get Up, PTI, Around the Horn, etc. Nothing but hype machines.
NCAA isnt close to the NBA either, and he's under contract playing the season right now ofcourse he's not working out with teams. And you dont need to see him in the US to see talent. Plus he's played against many nba players and looked great

So "Euroleague is not close to the NBA"?..but the NCAA and US High Schools these american picks are playing somehow is? The competition Ayton and these other prospects are playing against would never make a starting 5 in Euroleague to save their lives let alone do what Luka did last season. "No1 pick" Anthony Bennet could not average 1 minute per game when he tried Euroleague last season.
So what are you talking about? Why would Doncic have to go to the workouts and dribble around cones and shoot some threes for people to see that he is clearly , basketball skill wise, head and shoulders above the rest in that draft?
He has proved it against NBA competition too in Eurobasket.
Joshua Frick people say euro players don't pan out because a vast majority of them underperforming lol. Naming 2 or 3 guys who did doesn't change the fact a lot of them bust.
Euro ball in picking up finally and the country is getting more into it so future euro prospects are going to be much better but before that status was mostly valid.

Give him two years of NBA training and you will see a mix of Harden and Ginobilli but taller and with better defense.
vskillz96 his defense is pretty bad too lol and harden and Ginobli are reaches. Harden was an elite 1v1 player with great athleticism at the time, he absorbed contact better and didn't have problems creating vs superior athletes. Both had tighter handles, better lateral movement, better at attacking the hoop especially downhill vs bigs in pick and roll where doncic doesn't do as well as I'd like. Both were craftier players and could attack some really off angles.
Doncic is a great player especially at his age but I don't see those comparisons.

Both exceled at 1v1 and shot creations in half court and full court and didn't have problems vs superior athletes. Donic plays a different game but it's obviously working for him

My guy, go educate yourself on Manu , he was playing pro ball at 19 in Argentina and then Italy, not against high school players.
Doncic has great potential and honestly it would be amazing if he managed to reach Manu's level and even surpass it, but its not something that is easily done.
Wonderlandian Do you actually compare argentian league with the two best European leagues? (Euroleague - Spanish) Manu is awesome but he didn't play in europe until he was 21 and he didn't even play at an elite team like Real Madrid, Doncic is doing it since he was 16, and after 3 years at 19 he became the MVP, that's why everyone here in Europe calls him a wonderboy, no one had so much potential in Europe, he may never be the player we are expecting but for sure he will be a very good player in the NBA.
