This makes me miss NYC. I was born and raised in northern New Jersey in a suburb about 15 minutes from Manhattan. I live in Florida now where it's basically summer time all year round. The holidays are when I really start to miss the change in seasons. Sometimes down here you forget what time of the year it is. I mean, 70 degrees in November, I can't complain. But I still do miss the 4 seasons of the northeast. Halloween and Thanksgiving don't feel right when the tree's aren't red and orange and leaves falling. And Christmas doesn't feel right when it's not snowing.
The s what I tell people. Sure, it’s gets cold in Indiana but we get all 4 proper seasons and each one has its own quality and value and I wouldn’t want to trade any of them in.
One of the reasons I want to leave Florida. I had the pleasure of visiting NYC for the first time and saw the trees turning a color other than green. I was ASTOUNDED. I have been chasing those seasons ever since
Something similar I've experienced before. Crashed my motorcycle and as unfortunate as it was, we were happy that at least the GoPro captured it just to find out, the camera died literally one second before the crash.
