Awesome video. Cheers for the tip about the battery test. I used iMazing and my battery health on my iPad Pro 10.5 is also showing 93% with 50 charging cycles. I purchased mine from Apple refurbished last year at a cost of £450. Although I did notice on your iPad that it seems to have the dreaded white spots on the screen. I’m not sure if you have noticed but on a white screen there is a bright spot about an inch above the home button. This seems to be a problem on some of the 10.5 inch pro’s. Great video. Keep up the good work 👍 looking forward to another iPad Pro 10.5 video.
Glad you liked the video. 93% seems low, at least compared to many others. I'll need to check my iPad. I had genuinely not noticed the bright spot before, despite using it for months.
Alright Kevin. Excellent choice mate. Although I’ve moved more to Android my favourite pads are iOS. iPads are simply better and very slick compared to any Android tablet around similar prices. I use my iPad for music stuff and it’s only an Air 2, it’s great and that’s not as powerful as what you’ve just got. I’ll have to do a video showing my iPad setup for music. I have an Apple lightning to USB 3 adaptor connected to a powered USB 3 hub that’s got a wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, USB/MIDI music keyboard, some storage and a Behringer UMC202HD USB audio interface. The whole thing is fantastic and I can record very high quality audio with various mics etc. Maybe try using the official Apple Lightning/USB 3 adaptor yourself and just put a powered hub into it, you can get away with doing a fair amount that you’d usually do on a laptop etc. I know that all sounds bulky but you just unplug one cable and you’re off with the iPad in your bag or whatever, it really is very versatile. I look forward to the videos you’ve got coming up. Cheers, Dave.
Thanks for the tip David. I need to look into that as it would be good to use this for live streams and video chats from time to time. So hooking up a good audio interface would be great. I might look into the smart keyboard too (if I can pick up a bargain).
A great strength of Apple is the ability to keep old devices up to date. I recently ventured into iOS with the purchase of an iPhone 7 Plus and it updated to the latest version of the OS. An excellent piece of software to transfer media from a PC to an iPhone is WinX MediaTrans. The transfer of my music was a doddle. With regard to the iPad Pro 10.5, I am looking forward to delivery of my purchase of one off of ebay. It cost me £599 for the cellular version. It is stated to be unused, so it will be interesting to see if it was ever registered with Apple. Along with the iPad are the following unused accessories: 1. Sealed keyboard case with detachable, backlit, Bluetooth keyboard. 2. Glass screen protector. 3. Padded tablet sleeve. 4. USB 3 port fast charger. 5. The 2020 version of the TWS i12 earpods.
Nice. I have the 256GB version too. Sounds like you're getting a lot of accessories with it. You're right that Apple does update devices better than Android companies. There are a few companies that keep their android devices updated for years, but they're few and far between. I'm sure you'll love the iPad. It's a great tablet.
Not bad. Mint condition and some goodies thrown in. About the battery, 7% lost from only 30 charges seems a lot. Not sure how accurate that coconut battery is.
I'm not sure either, but I suspect the age of the battery plays a factor too, not just the number of charges. I did see some people say that the battery in these iPads went down quickly. Not sure if that's the case or not, but it seems good. Last night I watched videos for an hour or two and spent an hour installing apps and messing around with it and the battery only dropped to 69%.
Hi!! great video! But can you check gigbench score on recent ios update. Also can you check performance on heavier apps like photoshop, affinity etc. I am confused between pro and air 3. Pro price is less than new air 3. Apart from air 3 has better chipset but 3gb ram... Where pro has 4gb... I dont care about promotion. All i care about better performance in graphics work. Whats your suggestion?
Might actually get one. They are on Apple's website as their own refurbished so really close to new. WiFi model, 64gb for €429, 256gb for €569 and 512gb for €759. 256gb is too much. Not sure if I should get 64gb or 256gb. Wish they had a 128gb available.
Hi Kevin. The first question I had in mind when u unboxed this IPAD was how it will fit in your android/windows world. Are you strictly using it on its own or are you having to share files between it and your androids/windows devices? As an outsider, I see the iPad as a more fluid experience compared to the Tab Eses, but the Apple $$$ rabbit hole is one I don't want to find myself in.
I'm using it more as a consumption device so I'm not sharing files. At the moment, I'm mostly using it for browsing the web, reading articles, watching RUclips etc. You're right about the Apple $$$ rabbit hole. A part of me was tempted to pick up an official keyboard out or curiosity, even if I don't need the keyboard, but if I start spending a lot of money on accessories, it kind of defeats the point of buying second hand haha. I am really liking it. There are a few minor annoyances, such as split screen limitations etc, but for the most part I'm pleased.
@@KevinMuldoon Yep. I knew that was going to happen. Was watching a video on note-taking on the Ipad, the presenter banged on about getting an older cheaper Ipad to keep costs down, then in the middle of the video said, see I have my notes synced on my ($$$) iPhone as well. I burst out laughing... That Ecosystem :)
Can you do another videos with the IPAD PRO 2017 with the following: 1. How do you use a mouse on it? 2. Can the Anker Hub 100W with USB-C work? What compatible cables are needed?
Hi Forte. I am planning on doing a few more videos about the iPad in a few weeks ,but those aren't topics I would cover. Sorry. I will say, however: * Connecting a mouse is just as simple as connecting it via Bluetooth (I recommend Bluetooth over a cable so you don't have to use a USB adapter) * The iPad Pro 2017 doesn't use a type c connection, so you will need a type c to lightning cable
Spooky, today I just bought 64gb version, apple pencil, apple keyboard for £570 so you definitely got a good deal. I had the 2020 version in my shopping basket but I couldn't justify the price.(£1k+)The stereo speakers, pro-motion 120hz screen was the biggest appeal for me. Will definitely use the pencil but not fussed that it isn't USB c or awkward pencil charging. Look forward to seeing your follow up videos, maybe on any iPad os issues? Cheers and stay safe mate.
Nice one Marvin. Did you buy it refurbished with a warranty etc? The Apple Pencil is still really expensive. Apple accessories don't seem to drop in price the same as Android products too.
No I'm taking a calculated risk, I bought of a local seller on eBay. Sadly no warranty but everything is mint and still has original packaging. I missed out on some good deals on CEX (with warranty) a couple of months ago as I thought the prices would drop further with 2020 models being out. But like you said, it's a reminder that apple really holds their value. I won't lose too much in value if decide to sell in a few years time.
Yeah the battery is still good. I use it a lot for RUclips, Netflix and browsing and my wife uses it for conference calls. Battery life is holding up well.
It all depends on usage. You'd never get 24 hours of Netflix from it, but sporadic internet browsing over a day or so is likely. I don't monitor battery life that closely and tend to keep it charged when doing conference calls.
