Look that drum kit (LOL), however sounds really good, and that guitar Holy Shit!, very good cover of my favourite song of Metallica. Greetings from Lima - Perú
yah i was a poor kid and all my drum teachers recognized my talent so they all gave me drums. Hence the 20" tom on the right that makes no sense, and the two cracked cymbals on my kid.
Probably the best "metallica school talent show " performance ive ever seen, everything sounds legit!!!! Everyone is just running around . I feel the crowd did not give them enough respect. As a guitar player, Amen my brothers!!!!
The band in the background are like OH SHIIIIIIIT wtf who covering today WARRENT NOOOOOOOOOOO! WE'RE DONE BRING IN THE CHAIR AND GET IT OVER WITH WE SUCK CANT YOU SEE BURNING IN MY BRIAN I CAN FEEL THE PAIN !!
yup. I had to use weights from the weight room to hold my kit in place, off to the right of the vid. We didn't win, a diff band that covered "Thunderstruck" from ACDC won. They weren't as good, but we were black sheep at our high school. Most people didn't even know how to react, let alone what we were playing. If you notice it's dead silent as he nails that solo. That guitar player and I covered Rush songs for fun at 16. The rest of the band only knew Metallica. I was playing single kick with all mismatched drums and cracked cymbals. ;) Thanks for reminding me that I'm 40. I still play and am better than I've ever been. - #theDrummerInThisVid
@@animalssj Respect man. I'm a 26 y.o. Indian admiring a legendary song covered legendarily when i was just 2 y.o. from around the world. If i was there I'd have been at your faces headbanging. One of the best covers. Give my respect to the other members of the band (especially the lead) if you guys are still in touch.
Excellent job! Reminds me of the days when I played at my high school talent show way back in the day. We auditioned with something like Breaking the Law, and we came out playing Merciful Fate's "Desecration Of Souls". Good times!
Great band, I love how all the girls are leaving in droves, my friend Steve Lawrence was the bands Water Boy, who said he got his tackling fuel from drinking bud light & watching the Chicago Bears at Tinhorn Flats(r.i.p,) in Burbank.
jesus christ, this is undoubtivly the best cover of ride the lightning, and the audience doesn't even clap durring it. i mean, serously. that was fuckin crazy
Finally a school cover where we can actually hear everything
Respect !! the solo.. RESPECT !!!!
Back when 16 year olds looked 20
Negative it sucks now everyone looks like their 5
@@joescopo4655 im 16 and ive been mistaken for being in my 20s by multiple people
Metallica and Megadeth, the staple of music at every high school in the late 80's and early 90's.

His voice is perfect for thrash metal
I'd love to know what the lead guitarist/vocalist is upto these days. If he could play like that back in '95 damn I wanna see him play the solo now.

Is it just me or does he sound like a young Tom araya?
If Slayer had become Metallica, Metallica would still be. ... /METALLICA instead of whatever it is now.
Nailed that solo

Singer sounds a little... Slayer-ish
Yeah like Metallica used to sound before they sold out
mark merk okay Metallica never actually sold out, and James never had the voice of Tom Araya.
@@evanlewis9313 yeah....they kinda did...and Justice for all is the last album with the qualities that made them great..
mark merk true but just because they went for a more mainstream sound doesn’t necessarily mean they sold out.

Love that vocalist. Sounds like James
That teacher down in the left hand corner, is like; what in the, hell, just happened.....
Other bands looking on... Saying "Oh shit...".
5:58 "megadeth"
what a hero
Maybe he was requesting?
Wow those dudes nailed it.
After years of searching for a better high school cover of a Metallica song, I proclaim this one still the best ever.
I wish I was in that high-school and witnessed it, but I was 6 months old. 😢
I wasn't even born yet in 1995
Holy fuck the vocal sounds just like Hetfield, awesome cover
Sounds exactly like what they played back in 86 when Metallica was opening up for Ozzy.
Look that drum kit (LOL), however sounds really good, and that guitar Holy Shit!, very good cover of my favourite song of Metallica. Greetings from Lima - Perú

The first and third part of the solo was really good!
This is the most impressive cover I have heard on RUclips...probably ever. Amazing. Those kids don't know how lucky they were to hear this...

Impressive for sure! Should've slowed it down a tempo or two though. Sounded like they were rushing to get thru it! Nailed the solo!!!
I think this advice might be to late to help them 😔
Maybe they had to play faster to keep it under a certain time limit.
They probably played faster because of the other acts needing to go after them.
Awesome cover, vocals really rocked!! 5/5!!
