  • In this screencast tutorial I start a series taking a look at some of the updates to macOS Mojave. In this particular screencast I take a look at some of the upgrades made to the Finder and to the desktop which help to make the process of working on your Mac a lot smoother. I cover the view changes, in finder editing options, the new dark mode, stacks on the desktop, and the new add from iPhone or iPad feature.
As always thanks for watching. If you have any questions leave them below and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Also please subscribe and like, favorite and share this screencast so others can find it on the net.

I'd love to hear your take on the file sharing options now they've removed them from Server app. In testing last week it appears you can't give sharing permissions to Open Directory users, only local users. Well you can assign them, but they don't work.

I’ll have to look into that to see if it’s an issue. I hadn’t noticed any issues so far but I also had server installed previously so I’ll do it with the new set up and see if I can reproduce it and hopefully find a fix.

I’ve only used my 2012 Mac mini as a media sever (all apple household). But I want to increase the usability to storing archives (video and audio recordings). Eventually purchasing a DAS raid to run with the Mac mini.
Is switching to server OS worth it for extra features? Or is it totally unnecessary as I don’t really need to access files outside my home (though that could be really nice to have the ability to share designated files remotely from my “server”).
    Any thoughts?

Thanks for the comment. Server is probably not necessary for you as the file sharing service is now built into system preferences. I will be doing some videos on it in the future.

Teeny tiny display makes this more difficult to follow for us who don't have eagle eyes.
