First time I saw this in a wrestling tournament I didn't know wtf happened blew my little freshman mind of course I wanted to try that best believe my coach yelled at me during practice lol.
My coach went there and he taught it to me different more where you do sit out then you tri pod into them grab there legg and roll them over you so did they teach that at the camp or did my coach modify it ?
2 questions: are you basically throwing your legs over you or is there pressure on the arm until it’s moved back? And is this allowed in HS wrestling? I thought anymoves that includes jumping and inverting the body in this way were prohibited?
I've been wrestling my whole life but I never knew about the no jumping rule. However I've done more Granbys, Peterson rolls, Abus rolls and Tripod Congs then I can count.
Coool. This is the truck position in BJJ but its a 19th planet thing becahse guys like aeddie Bravo used tk be wrestlers who went on ti learn bjj too. Its under used in bjj. Crazy stuff
We wrestle on approved wrestling mats. My partner is a world-class wrestler from the US National Team and we both know how to move and fall properly while wrestling.
@@KOLATCOM thank you for the response. How would you go about pulling these off in training without causing injury to others? Would you suggest only attempting these moves with partners you know are familiar with the movement?
@@constablekohler Yes, everyone should drill the move before using it in a live situation. Partners should be aware of the movement and how to react before they drill it.
@@KOLATCOM I meant to control the wrist which your opponent is using to hold his tight waist on you. But I *was* taught to try to trap that wrist between my thigh and hip bone while trying to catch the wrist. In the video, watch that grip Cary has with his right hand on opp's right wrist. Once he has that, he has a ton of options that opp can't counter.
For bjj, you better transition quick and not worry about holding that leg. Control the arm as coach is but turn towards the legs as you try to keep as much pressure on your opponent as possible. Mr. Kolat is basically putting himself in a crucifix position. Very nasty position.
What is this move called Jiri does against Alex? Watch the slow motion replay at the end. ruclips.net/video/UHGomATiHvU/видео.htmlsi=2lFodcwVlYL49LZS It's like a half reverse granby.
@@KOLATCOM I am talking about Jiri not Alex. Watch the slow motion replay. It's like a reverse walls of Jerico. Fight was stopped too early. I personally think he should have used a back door escape if the fight continued.
Someome answer my question please! I show this trick to my trainer and he said that i will lose point with this trick becoz i will roll myself so is my trainer right or wrong?
Mubariz Noori if you don’t get separation you could roll yourself.the big thing is creating a little separation and the roll must have a good bit of momentum so the don’t catch you while rolling
“So, slowly...“
*does it super fast*
It's a feel to learn move more than a learn with eyes one. Couldn't do the roll safely at lesser speed.
Caught over 50 guys in my wrestling career with this move alone.
Based
Dude I still catch guys in bjj with this, great way to sweep from bottom turtle to side control
Ruined a lot of evenings with this run.
Always took bottom because of this
I taught myself this but thank you for teaching me to better it kolat
Jon Cannon Kolat does EVERY wresting move perfectly somehow! We’re not worthy.
I'm a Jujitsu / Old school Judo guy and that was an awesome execution!
I might break my neck trying this, but it's such a cool moves..
Uh is your neck good
Beautifully demonstrated and explained. Your videos have helped me so much.
Happy to hear that!
Ended so many fools at my meets with a Peterson. PIAA champion 🏆

Sir you are the best
Coach Billy Martin taught me this at camp.. Loved Granby camp

@@kyler8414 bud there's tons of variations, you ever get a chance to attend the Granby School of wrestling camps I highly suggest it
Thank you
Show de rolamento! Very Nice! Obrigado pelo vídeo ! Thanks!
This was my bread and all 8 years I wrestled
Amazing. just amazing
Thank you. Your videos inspire me... I want to practice at home but have no partner. What are some ways I can train at home to become better?
Can you teach us a good move to use for big Guys
Steve Rodriguez this move and the standing hip Peterson roll are good for larger wrestlers
Sir you are great ❤️👍🎉🎉
Hey Cary, sorry for the stupid question...but does a wrestler give up exposure points with a grandby roll in freestyle wrestling?
The Granby roll is for folkstyle wrestling.

In HS wrestling you can't jump. However this isn't a jump this is a roll, you are just rolling thru and catching the leg.
Wilkus Wrestling ok the more I look at it I see this, thanks

It is good video
Dayum!
I only want to learn the basics first before advance 😁
That's the way to do it. You can use our beginner's curriculum at kolat.com.

You splendor
Is that a 4pt move before pin
Yes 4 or 5.
We call this one the broken rib special
How do you pull these moves off without hurting your partner's head or neck?

Essentially Jiri should have used a form of this against Alex when they fought last.
That would've been slick!
If you control the wrist with the tight waist, you're no longer trapped under him. He is trapped on top of you.

Same motion using a level 2 shrug to a Peterson. Takes too much to get out with the granby. Level 2 shrug to Peterson with just getting the hips out.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Thanks for watching!
But what if he just chop and bumps you I feel like then it won’t really work
The peterson I learned is when they chop and bump you, go on your head and move in a circle until you're positioned to roll
Es muy peligrosa y complicada esa técnica
That is scary!! Gymnastic level compound movement and neck exposure!!!
Wrestling mats are great protection snd wrestlers have strong necks.

It's like a half reverse granby.
Looks like a punch to the head. Not legal in wrestling.
