Definitely. Her vocals in this song have catapulted her amongst some of the best singers, with one of the best voices, in the world. Well done Lauren. Hope your singing career goes from strength to strength.
I do NOT understand how they could take one of the spookiest songs ever and make this version that somehow sounds hopeful, while retaining it's original darkness and spookiness. I was literally moved to tears when I heard it in the movie. BRAVO!
I’ve heard many covers of Cry Little Sister but none of them hold a candle to this one. This feels rather understated which I think is part of its magic. Thank you for this breathtakingly haunting and beautiful version.
@@SneharthoDey I’m familiar with that one too and it is also fantastic. The is something about the stripped down nature of this one building from nearly nothing that really resonates with me.
Scala and Kolacny Brothers (famous for creepy trailer music) just released a cover last month and I've gotta say, it doesn't beat this one, but it's close! They're the girls' choir who covered "Creep" for The Social Network trailer, "Engel" for The Possession trailer, and others. Definitely worth checking it out!
This was a huge, bold move covering such a distinct song with such a huge cult following. And woah. It is amazingly done. Can’t wait to see where this ends up in the show.
Especially brave as it wasn't just "any" movie but one that explicitly references a) the original song, b) The Lost Boys, c) an audience likely familiar with both. While the original is still incredible and an icon of cinema (horror or otherwise), I really loved this cover version too. For some reason, it gives me real Stranger Things vibes too (even though it could never be in that show due to the timeline).
@@Kevmaster2000 1 this cover sucks and is no where near as good as the original. 2 Marilyn Mansons cover was Terrible and He sounded like he was Drunk or High when he sang it and he Forgot How to Sing or something. 3 the Only Cover I've seen of this song that's Actually Good is the one Corey Feldman did on his Live Tour. I've seen Many Videos of Corey singing this on Different Live Shows and he Nailed it Every Time and sounded Exactly like the original Singer.
The scariest thing about the movie and this song is their potential to introducing children to a resilient depression. And also to gothic song. Loved it
Heard all the versions, the metal versions were great, but this one is on like a spiritual level. This gives an entirely different vibe than all the rest. Lovely work on this cover!!
i dont know anything about chvrches but think i know the lost boys(vampires waterguns and piles of oldschool coolness?) can i ask, are they related in some way?
It shocked me! Especially being raised on The Lost Boys OST (I'm 44). This is by far the best cover I've heard. I'm not a fan of female singers but this woman's voice is 😍😍
This version made me feel, feel again. I saw myself walking down a dark road, thinking about you, wondering if you found your happiness as I left this world... Find your happiness
Is there any style of music this band can't create/produce/replicate? I think not. Another masterpiece of haunting beauty and wonder. Thank you Chvrches for continuing to enrich and enhance our lives. x
WOW. Just stumbled upon this today. My initial impression "this can't be the same 80's song from The Lost Boys!" ...and it is. They killed this. Amazing cover. I'm shocked.
I didn't even know this was a cover but looked up the original and Marilyn Manson ones now. This is the best as the choir backing is more subtle here and it's just even more haunting.
Chvrches REALLY needs to release albums with their covers and collaborations. It kills me that so many of their excellent music isn't available on vinyl.
The growth of Chvches has been wonderful and surprising. Screen Violence was a pretty big departure from their signature synth-pop while still maintaining their identity.....now THIS?? I'm really loving this and looking forward to the future. ♥
The Masters of making covers that make you forget how the original sounded strike again. Another masterpiece done by Chvrches. I hope they will do music for a long time.
This is my favorite cover of this song. Too many bands have done this song. It usually aggravates me to see another cover of it. But Chvrches made it beautiful. Love it.
I had "The Lost Boys" soundtrack album as a kid and this track was always one of my fav's. A love it and didn't think I would ever hear anyone play it again. Trust "Chvches" to dig it out and bring it back to modern ears. Absolute classic ---- love you guys...
This song woke something up inside me that I never knew was even in there. Through the pandemic, back to a place where I had so many dreams and fantasies of what I would be in the future, back to a time where I had a wild imagination and thirsty for life. The original was so beautiful but this version is just as beautiful! When I heard it I started crying because I miss that part of me, so innocent and blind to the torment and abuse that layed ahead of me, the movie "lost boys" and the 2 additions to the first one where really cool. I have all 3 sitting on my DVD rack lol! I'm a huge vampire movie freak, there is not one that I have seen that I don't own, t.v. shows included as well!
When I was younger I always loved watching or reading about vampires, werewolves and zombies i remember a film cant remember the name when a young vampire boy was knocking on the window of human boy's window after that I wore a cape (black bin liner) and use to jump of the garden wall thinking I was a vampire!😂
This song takes me back when I was very young watching The Lost Boys. Super nostalgic.
Yeah that film is one of my favourite films as a teenager! The music was awesome like the Karate Kid aswell!
Great film, excellent music
That sweet and beautiful fairy like soprano gets me every time.
the association of a delicately high pitched voice with deep basses and slow tempo is so soothing, catharatic.
A stunning display of Lauren's vocal skills
Blast a fart, stinky tooties boiiis
Definitely. Her vocals in this song have catapulted her amongst some of the best singers, with one of the best voices, in the world. Well done Lauren. Hope your singing career goes from strength to strength.
great voice and a time ride :-)
I do NOT understand how they could take one of the spookiest songs ever and make this version that somehow sounds hopeful, while retaining it's original darkness and spookiness. I was literally moved to tears when I heard it in the movie. BRAVO!
At the end I hope there is a sequel!
its because we are doing genderswaps and being woke....
it's absolutely immaculate, Lauren's vocals are going from strength to strength atm
This version hit me with a refreshed nostalgia equal to the first time I heard this song in 1987...
Agreed , I personally think this is the best cover I've heard, gives me the same vibe as the original
I cannot describe how much I adore this women’s vocals
I’ve heard many covers of Cry Little Sister but none of them hold a candle to this one. This feels rather understated which I think is part of its magic. Thank you for this breathtakingly haunting and beautiful version.

There’s been many covers already. One by Marilyn Manson. It’s not that bold. Though this is my favorite cover.

This is one of the best tracks from the 80's from one of the best movies - and Chvches absolutely nailed it! 👌

Her voice is similar to the young sinead o connor but even clearer. How Not To Drown is my current favourite.
Quite a good cover! Props to Chvrches taking the song and making it their own.
This version made me feel, feel again.

never heard Lauren sing like this, pretty incredible
I know right
Shades of her range like this were also present in "Bela Lugosi's dead"
Not her own song. It has more range then what they usually write and she nailed it the best i've heard from this songs covers.

you're good with words
Agreed!
I doubt they'd be able to make a grindcore song but ok
As a fan of the lost boys, I LOVE THIS VERSION
We got to meet Jason and Alex at HorrorHound Weekend
Saw an interview where she said she was watching Lost Boys and wondered if they would cover this since it is right up their alley.
I didn't think it was possible to move me more than the original did...but wow, this one has succeeded. Wonderful music!

Lauren's voice is so very lovely here, as always. I'll never fail to be jealous of her haha. I love the haunting feel of the track. Very nice.
CHVRCHES never disappoint, absolutely loving this!
loved their work from death stranding
I love this version of the lost boys cry little sister and the original version of this song. Lauren has amazing vocals.
That lassie has some voice! Loving this take on SUCH a classic. Amazing.
I wish the movie had put this song as the end credits. Song barely had a moment in the movie.
