From 20th to 3rd and whipping 450s all along the way? That is Eli Tomac speed ... Flash forward to todays' racing and anyone who questions Eli speed is very young or is not aware of his history ... So many experts today are totally unaware of what this guy has done against the worlds' best. My hat is off to him.
Great FULL race coverage and nice to hear Broc Glover's commentary with the British commentator who always does a great job. I'd like know who he is / was as Glover mentioned that he was a Des Nations racer himself. Tomac's get-off was a classic; the stuff highlight videos are made of. The view from the rear as he was dicing with Roczen shows his rear wheel hitting a rut and kicking out in the opposite direction of where he wanted the bike to go. It's a wonder he was able to remount and get back in the race and pick up a couple of lost places. Would have loved to hear the post-race interview, but it got canceled. Dungy rode a solid race after a poor start, but was obviously not his best performance. In sum, so far, so good for Team America even tho they were not among the top 5 after the first moto. We'll see what happens in the last 2 motos.
Cairoli from 12th to 1st, beast... Overall his best MXoN, no crashes, no bad luck, finally put togheter two motos, just complete domination... 2012 was good too, but Herlings fanboys had too many excuses about the third race...
I wish we could have had a post race interview with Tomac, to get his take on the unfortunate crash. Eli is usually all out and wins or makes a mistake... he doesn't seem to ever take it "safe." I'm a fan.
Perfect way to rewatch those 2013 MXGP races during 2020 covid19.
