In regards to your word die and DIY shadow: I have a hard time fussy cutting so here is my tip, especially if you want to make multiples. I cut the word die out of black cardstock then scan the cut image and bring that in to my Cricket Design Space. I can make the image to whatever size I want and make a matching shadow. Now I can cut multiples in a variety of pattern papers. If you run low on a favorite pattern paper scan that in as well and save it as a pattern rather than a cut image. Now you can fill in that pattern to other images as a print and cut.
I make extra cards to keep on hand and don't put any sentiments on them that indicate a specific theme. They have come in handy many times. I tend to be a slow card maker so this helps me save some time. I love the card you made. Great tip on the shadow and embossing acetate.
I love everything about this card! I have never heard of the suggestion to trace the flip side of a die to make a shadow. Thanks for a fun and informative video!
Beautiful card. When I leave my cards without a sentiment I put some of the paper I used in the card. That way I don’t have to search for matching paper later.
Absolutely love this video! Thank you for explaining stuff so well! I take a deep breath putting the backing piece on to! Thanks RUclips for showing me this video!
There's a reason for BLANK Cards and holding back the sub sentiment. You are right there. Now you've got options wide open for why it's the perfect card for who or whom ever enjoys it. Love this card. I have a load of embossing dies and Altnew is one of my all time favorites for their detail and over sized folders. I've got numerous ones. Now I know how to put a few of my favorites into an other use...shaker bits. I love pine cones and have their pine cone folders and oh my I can think of how elegant a clear pinecone and pine needles embossing would work as a shaker. Wee tree bits and pieces or winter snow flakes. Lovely idea and thank you for sharing.
I love your idea for the pinecone folder. I have had my eye on a few of those from various companies. I hope you make what you described! It sounds like it will be beautiful. Thanks for watching!
Oohhh, those stellar embossing folders!! I have collected waaay too many the past couple years! 🤣🤣🙄😀 And now I have a whole new way to play with them! I love how the acetate doesn’t get cloudy like vellum does when embossed… altho that is a great look when I want that. Thanks much for the creating the shadow layer tip, very useful!! I find more and more I leave my cards without sentiments. I can add, like you said, when the person and occasion become clear. Have also started giving blank card sets as gifts, and including a few precut sentiments the recipients can attach if desire. Have gotten great feedback on that. Thanks for another inspiring video!! 🧑🏼🎨💗😀
I love giving blank cards as gift as well. I've also added sentiments that they can add, and they've loved it. They really make a great gift. I hope you give this technique a try. It's really fun. Thank you so much for watching!
Nobody needs to be losing their bits.... lol. Pro tip on that tracing the die for the shadow layer. I always learn something from you. Thanks for sharing your talent. The card turned out great. AND, you must bring me to this store when I visit where you got that container!
This card is just stunning! So creative and magical. It would make a great PRIDE card. Or a bestie across the miles card... Stupidly brilliant to flip the die for the shadow. You are a rock star!
Wow, great technique, embossing on acetate! Very cool! Your card is awesome! Thank you for sharing all your tips and techniques. Im def going to try this! ❤
WOW! That's a really good idea! I've always tried to just fuzzy cut an edge around the die cut! Ur way seems WAY easier!! Soo thanks for sharing this video!!
I scrolled down and saw that Karen Young answered the question about the dot under the exclamation point. As a retired secretary I had to research it and found the same info. Surprised me! I always referred to it as the "bottom tittle". LOL Love how the card turned out and really appreciated all the tips. I'm definitely going to try embossing on the acetate and used your link to Clear Bags to put some in my cart. I also tried to shop at Daiso but realized it's not an online store and the closest one to me is 3 1/2 hours away in Las Vegas, Nevada! I think I need a trip to Vegas!
That sounds like a better train to go to Vegas than gambling, for sure! I'm glad you grabbed some of the acetate. It's a great quality. Thanks for the info about the "bottom tittle!" I actually like that name better than the correct one. Lol.
As soon as you showed the white cardstock embossed, I ran to your link and purchased the embossing folder - it is beautiful on both mediums! Awesome tip for the shadow, too! New subscriber here! ❤
Thank you so much for being here! I really appreciate it. I also appreciate you using my link. I hope to "see" you here again soon. Have fun with your new folder!
What a gorgeous card. I love the colors that you used and the embossed acetate, wow, makes it look more gorgeous. I’ve had the most difficult time making shaker cards but I think I can do it now after watching your video. Thank you so much for your video. Susan from Clarkston, Michigan 🥰😊
Hi Susan! Thanks so much for being here, and for your kind words. I hope that this video helps you to make shakers. I have an entire playlist on making them, and I'll have another video with a shaker tomorrow. Have fun playing!
Loved the look of the acetate shaker. I have embossed acetate before and you are right it does look really cool. I haven't made a shaker card, I'll have to give that a go.
Gorgeous shaker card Alison 🥰 I love your embossed acetate, your background and your shaker card design. I would wait, like you ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx Have a fabulous weekend
Oh my goodness! Where have you been?!? You were in my recommended today and you/your card are amazing! New subscriber and now I will be binge watching all your videos today! ❤
😮😮😮 I love everything about this card!! I will leave cards blank sometimes because I don’t know what I’m going to use them for and then add a sentiment strip or word die later. So enjoyed watching this project come together.!!💙💜🩷
@@AlisonHeikkilaI have yet to hear of any other name for the dot (aside from the ellipses and tittle), even when used in the semicolon and colon, but I'm open to learning as well

@@stephwathan2061 that's awesome! I'd love to see it.
You can use a small tiny watercolor paint brush to apply powder directly to the edges of the foam tape.
I love that idea! Thanks!
That embossed acetate is WOW....and that is a great shadow tip!

Beautiful shaker card? The embossing folder is so cute. Where did you get the acetate? It's not listed.
Hi! Thanks for watching! It's listed. It's from Clear Bags.
This is so awesome! Were you able to find a source link for the acetate?
Hi! Thanks for watching! The link is in the description. The company that sells them is Clear Bags.
Wait to add the sub sentiment
Love this card and your video! I don’t see a link for the acetate, can you tell us what you would recommend if it’s not readily available?
Hi! The link is there. The company that carries them is Clear Bags. Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Love your natural nails !
Thank you. I just don't have the time or the patience to do them very often.
Run it through the scan and cut machine!
I don't have an electronic die cutting machine. 😊
I think sea turtles are stamped on the back side.,would have been gorgeous!

I love that you leave them blank for later. It makes so much sense. Thank you so much for being here.
The point on the exclamation is called an interpunct! Lol
Is that what it's called? Thanks!
Don’t see the information on the products used.

All “.” are tittles unless when used as “periods” because periods are for “full stops” 🤷🏽♂️
