Excellent piece of work showing the glorious fens at their best. Amazing to see the extent of what was once there and to remember with sadness the carnage that was inflicted on the railway network.

Thank very much, And thank you for watching. But like you say very sad to see what has been taken away as when I was about 8 years old living in the town most of this was still in place.

@@barryjohn3549 Know how you feel.I am from Glasgow and as as a small child there seemed to be railways, docks with ships and factories with rail links everywhere. By the time I was in my late twenties much of it was gone, including two major and many smaller stations (one as big as St Pancras and desighned by the same architect complete with hotel used by The Royal Navy in two world wars). This was as long ago as the late seventies, since then the wholesale slaughter has continued and 'development oppotunities' abound. Even the railway headquarters buildings have become 'development opportunities' There is a lot left but between developers and the S N P mismanagement the future looks bleak. Developers are still building on railway key sites that have existed for over one hundred and fifty years.

Barry that was just great. I have travelled on the Spalding March line, and have great memories of this line. I remember eating a cheese sandwich in the cafeteria at March station, on a cold winters evening 1963, awaiting the arrival of my train to Longstanton. If only! Keep up the good work with your videos.
