There's a 3rd varisnt of this scene if you make the treck back to the start of ruins and speak with Asriel and Clover where Chara expresses a hint of jealousy that they're stuck as a ghost and questions if they deserve to be happy as well, with Frisk reassuring them that they're happy that Chara's there.
Better to have a ghost friend to strike up a conversation with whenever you’re bored than an omnipotent god from another universe controlling your every move and maybe killing your classmates along the way
Since in the original game, I usually choose "I have a place to go" for Frisk.. I feel like after the long journey, Frisk has grown up now to live on their own. Despite being a kid, the SOUL isn't.
It's nice that Chara has some company at the end. I felt sad seeing Chara by themselves in the ending where you leave with Toriel. Funny fact - I decided to install the mod, but uh...last time I played Undertale, it was in Japanese. The mod doesn't have a way to change the language settings from what I could tell, so I'm currently going through a bilingual experience unless I change the language first and then reapply the mod. X'D
I find it sad that Chara can't be revived, I mean, imagine you neither dying nor living, but being stuck with a child and seeing her living everything that you could be too. There has to be a way for Chara to revive, or I won't be able to sleep tonight :[
@Dan250 Yes! In the genocide route, what brought Chara back was Frisk's genocide, maybe in the pacifist route Frisk's determination could bring her back too..? I don't know, Frisk saved the souls of her friends against Asriel, why not..? (I'm really sorry for not using the correct pronoun, English is not my native language, so I don't know how to conjugate the verbs. 😞)
@@Dan250Clover was a closer contemporary to Frisk. Chara’s body is probably unrecognizable after millennia. And perhaps Asriel simply didn’t know Chara was there to revive. Or what was left of Chara was not enough.
@@Dan250It’s because Chara's soul was already gone a long time ago, being absorbed by Asriel, but Clover's soul was still kept by Asgore. But yeah, it would be better if they both revived anyway
