Wow, what an amazing thing to find - so organized and just begging to be brought to life just as you are doing. He's going to be emotional when he looks through what you've done for him!
Jack and your family is so lucky! Many of my mother's family's photos were thrown out by her sister when they were cleaning out their parents' house and are lost forever...cherish your photos!
I love this. I see that you are flipping the negatives. How do you know which side to scan? Thanks for sharing this. I too have many photos, slides and negatives to scan.
ciaoprof you can tell usually which is the right and wrong side when looking in the light. I look for the right side then flip down. I have messed up before and just mirrored the image when editing. But less in post processing the better lol.
Great video! I am 28 and am in the process of going through mine and my parents pictures and also my grandparents. My grandparents had a lot of pictures and also a lot of negatives. I bought a smaller film scanner that will scan slides and negatives but it doesn't do the larger negatives. There are many negatives similar to the ones you have in this video and I am anxious to go through them because I noticed that there are a lot that we don't have prints of (which is strange). Hoping to print them eventually. Would love to have the white borders on them so they will match the older photos that we have. Not sure where to get them printed (Walgreens, CVS, Walmart). Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
this is such a wonderful project. i'm working on getting old family photos into albums so this speaks to me - I want my children to have these memories of my family. I do have some negatives and very old photos (some dating back to the early 1920's). I'm worried about those delicate ones so I was considering getting them scanned. Would you mind sharing info on the scanner? Thanks for sharing all of this - i'd love to see more
Thank you so much Tracy! It is the Epson Perfection V600 Photo and Negative Scanner. I am so grateful to have it and it is very easy to use! You can even edit the photos with the software that comes with it if you wanted. I looked up a few YT videos on how to use it and it was super easy! Here is a link (affiliate). Thank you for the encouragement! - amzn.to/2ofqCAQ

thanks so much Jen!
What did you print them photos on? Was it matte or glossy or photo paper?
What type of photo paper was used
Hi there! I saved these photos to my computer and then sent to Costco to print.
Jennifer Thank you.
