Have you ever been to a grading company? What do they use? How do they look at the coins? Do they use a magnifying glass like Sherlock Holmes or do they use a high powered microscope? Make a video on how or what they use to determine a grade. Inquiring minds want to know.
Definitely can find some nice coins in the older PCI holders. The new ones are horrible, the majority are doctored up with awful looking artificial toning.
With the 1890 in mind (and understanding that this is not a radio station and that you are not a DJ), if you have time someday, could you show us the difference between "roller marks" and what we saw on that coin? As always, thank you for entertaining and educating!
Ben, I think you need to study some CAC PL and DMPL coins. Those "failed coins" in your video have very nice fields but if they don't reflect text clearly out at a few inches, they are not PL. PCGS is pretty good with their PL/DMPL standards, and NGC is not reliable.
Do you prefer to do a crackout vs a crossover? Does NGC or PCGS take into accounts previous grades in your opinion or are they blindly graded in a crossover?
What is wrong with those graders? I would have definitely given that 1896 Morgan an MS65 PL instead of the MS64 PL that the grader gave it. I think that coin is near perfect. BTW, I talk to my coins too.
LOL! I think it's okay to talk to your coins. It's when they start to verbally talk back, you need to worry. :)
I don’t talk to my coins, even when they talk to me
Beastie boys reference much appreciated
You know you can’t, you won’t and you don’t stop 🛑
Faithful to your videos.
That trade dollar and Buffalo nickel went quick.
That Buffalo nickel (DDS) is a natural for a dentist to own...LOL
😂
“Now I can send it off to CAC and not get it stickered” 😂
I’m glad you’re paying attention
Thanks for the effort Ben, nice coins.
Nice coins Mr Geek

There's a few videos from all TPG s on RUclips. Coinweek has posted in the graders room as well.
That 1890 also had a pretty good rim ding on the reverse. Because of that and the scrape you pointed out, I believe it’s properly graded.

Thanks for listening 😉
Mixed results, as usual. A couple of those crackouts crossed nicely. Pretty coins. Thank you for taking the plunge so that we don't have too.
You bet
You ride the short bus 😂
So mostly favorable results? "ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chances". Thanks.
*Does the wave*

love old off holders

The grading services are too tough on toned copper, way too many come back not straight graded.
Altered color on that Lincoln cent is a shame. Maybe you should've submitted it as a guy from the mountains....

Thanks- will do

Were you quoting ZZ Top when you did the "I've been up, I've been down" line?

Sometimes in a whisper
The 1896 in MS63 looks undergraded
