I can't put a finger on exactly why, but for some reason the camera work, personalities and editing all recreate the actual tone and feeling of being out in the bush compared to some of the newer content around these days. Great video. Cheers mate.
I've been looking for this one for ages. Up there on my favourites list, along with the 4wd Monthly Tassie Trip and the 4wd Action Old Lockhart River Mission trip.
Say Roothy, they recon the human brain can only hold so many memories. I was thinking yours must be over loaded and maybe heading into freeze mode. Maybe I can come along and act as an external hard drive and soak some memories up for you so when your kicking back in your leaf sprung rocking recliner I can recall all those beautiful places you have taken your fans along on ay? Regards, Mario.
Roothy save me some of that mash , meat and mushers . On a cold wet night you need good heavy comfort foods to help you have good nights sleep .A perfect tucker after a hard day on the tracks....
@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY Hello Roothy your a good little cook and a wizard at 4 wheel driving. Yourself and Allen Grey are Royalty in 4 wheel driving circles..I used to listen to and your mate on my way home from work. You where on 4 B C with Ed Phillips talking all things 4 wheel driving and a historic story thrown in for good measure. You used rib Ed about his motor scooter .Actually a women on A B C radio said she and a girl friend 50 odd years ago rode motor scooters across an unsealed Nullabor to Perth. Thats one hell of trip on motor scooters . Love the videos ,they're very well done and a pleasure to watch...
people like Paul makes me proud to be an Assuie , but they are few and far between now... good on ya,,, got to love tassie and the awesome people who live there ......
when i go to pieman heads i always drop in to see PAUL LEES, the guy is a living treasure. and has one of the best fan belt collections ( fan belt reference is so you know ive been there)
These series' use to be about the trip and the adventure. Today its a bastardization only aimed at selling more equipment. It really is a pitty. Good on you ol Roothy, you are still the original adventurer
I heard Shauno said they are getting rid of the GU Camera car. It's a Nissan but she'll get you through those tough tracks mate if you're struggling........
Ahh the nostalgia of old 4wd action and cooking with roothy
These were the best 👌🏽
Thanks for posting this John, Mick was my dad, died at 97. Bought back many fond memories, I had been going there with him since 1970.
Your dad was a Legend!
On ya Richard - thanks for letting me know. Mick was a legend!

They worked real hard on this one! Wet, cold, waterlogged gear....
Stay Safe
Love your work Johno!!
Need more Paul's
Nothing better than Roothy in Tassie on a Friday with a 12 pack of beer
Unless it's Roothy looking at a pallette of Boags in the back of Milo in Tassie....

It was good too - the bit Glenno didn't eat anyway...

I hope Paul got his axle back. Lol. Oh, and you should have borrowed a driver’s side headlight too. Amazing country. Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🏽🙏🏽😷😷🦘🦘
Used to blow a lot of headlights until we got the Ignite LED's - never blown one since and they're so bright I don;'t need drivers anymore.

That’s good to know. Cheers 👍🏻
Used to do this trip every Easter. Just the opposite way, used to park at Temma and ride to Sandy Cape
Roothy, what year was this filmed? It would be great to include that in the caption. Either way great DVD, thanks for the upload
I'm thinking 2010 - but Milo and me were in Tassie almost every second year for twenty plus years -
LOVE THIS VID
This episode is missing the last 20 minutes on the Balfour track, what the go there?

@@JOHNROOTHROOTHY yep its missing the best line of the episode "hello fellow sub-mariners!!"
