    I caught a few of these around the Convention centre in Wanchai a few years ago, they came up like wet rags unfortunately.

      @@Fishaholicboy Normally these fish are not reputed to fight a lot, Ladyfish on the other hand give a really good account for themselves and are also available here in Hong Kong, I used to go regularly to catch them along with small GT, I used 6lb line but had to break off a little line towards the tip after every fish or the line would snap on the next take they were savage. Caught most of these on poppers.
      Though I have lived here for 30 years I do not fish too much in Hong Kong, however last week (after years) have hit the river behind my house and have caught a small Tilapia and Chub on spinners and soft bait. I hope to get a Snakehead there.

      Wow.. 6lb line! You certainly love the challenge! Must’ve been such a great fun!
      Snakeheads are a great species to catch!

    Nice catch mate! For its size it didn't seem to fight hard

    • @Fishaholicboy
      @Fishaholicboy  3 года назад +1

      That was exactly my thoughts too! Though I was using quite heavy gear as I was targeting another species.

    But can it be eaten? I meant HK is a busy port with ships passing through all the times

    • @Fishaholicboy
      @Fishaholicboy  3 года назад

      It's really up to you.. I do encourage catch and release. However, I do feel the water has cleared up with less ships due to COVID

    • @calvincheecs
      @calvincheecs 3 года назад

      Oic...true we need to be responsible fisherman ...catch and release is the way to go. Thanks
