I used to work at Mercedes-Benz and I can see why you might think the presence of both Sport and Sport + mode might seem redundant, however there is a few subtle but noticeable differences between them!
S+ mode will:
Stiffen the AIRMATIC suspension furthermore than S mode
ECU will alter the exhaust sound during shifts
Steering is more rigid/heavy
More aggressive gear shifts/Longer RPM pulls
ECU will alter the exhaust sound during shifts
I believe the Traction control will also ease off something like 12% more than S mode in S+ mode.
I own a CLA45 AMG and it's probably the best car I've owned, in a list including multiple Audi RS's and a Porsche.

I have the CLA45 (I couldn't get the A-Class here in Canada) and I absolutely LOVE every minute of driving it! It is definitely a little pocket rocket haha
a45 is on a different level but so is the cla45

A friend of mine has an a220 and pays 32000 and doesn't even have satnav, I have an Audi s3 I pay 4000 more, get nearly double the power, 4 wheel drive and shit loads more. My point is merc is fucking expensive

I'd have an RS3 too I think. That 5 Cylinder engine is just something really special and it probably won't be in the next generation RS3 because of emissions, fuel economy etc... And it kind of looks like a baby RS6 - i like that :D

+TommoSon Dude, he is talking pure crap. The supposed "M3" on his channel is a normal 3 series. It has the normal iDrive infotainment system and the normal instrument cluster. He doesn't even have "the cheap" business navigation nor the lane assist. Both come as standard on the M3 (navi even comes in "professional" form). This guy is a fraud.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the adjustable damper (comfort, sport, sport+) only available on the 2016 model?

The A45 AMG is an awesome car! The crack between shifting gears is very nice :)
You even went over the point of sport mode in your video without noticing, the sport + pulls the revs up to around 3-4000 at all times, where as sport changes up like comfort, but is much more primed when you punch it... And then the suspension is rather airy in comfort, and extremely stiff in sport +, sport mode suspension is a good middleground :)
I'm sure there is a company, that will cover your wheel in Alcantara Paul. (my spellings awful I know). Maybe dub customs have this service
The car is very controllable on track and alot quicker than the rs3. Look it up on autobild sportcars yt channel.
In the AMG 45s, regular sport mode isn't needed. However, for the 63s and 65s, the regular sport mode is great
all these negative comments doesn't make any sense, if you want watch videos of sol or else please leave it, no one is compelling you to watch the videos of sol, don't waste the people's time who likes it by negative comments.
Love my A45, thinking of tuning it to stage 2 this summer. 440bhp and 600nm of torque :)
get a remap done and bigger turbo increase bhp to 550
I have the new 2016 AMG A45, She is 381bhp lol ... I definitely agree about the Sport option and the AMG Dynamic Plus Package is a definite option, you need to try the launch control ... its epic ... Like the review
I have the 2016 CLA45, I tend to use Sport everyday and ignore Comfort unless on a motorway run. Sport+ for fun though :) I didn't get the Dynamic Plus pack mind, how does Race compare to Sport+
+theRappinSpree I tend to use the Comfort mode more as the Sport & Sport+ idle higher and the auto gear changes are longer ... I unfortunately don't have the AMG Dynamic Plus Package but I drove one afew days ago and the adjustable suspension and LSD makes such a difference at high speed cornering ... I did order the old model but my AMG Aerodynamics Package was in backorder and those options weren't available on the old model and by the time I was informed about the fact I was getting the 2016 model ... she was too far into production to change.

+MercBenzKing - I really like the new C Class, The curves and new lights look awesome ... my mate has bought the new AMG C63S and it's unbelievable ... He still won't let me drive it lol , but as much as i absolutely love it ... I would rather the diesel 220 or 250D AMG Line ... They are more executive cruisers and the AMG C63S is much more at home where there are decent roads ... The UK isn't the best place for a small roads etc lol ... Your car is really nice and the spec is awesome

You could try putting a camera (GoPro) beside your head somewhere or hanging it from the roof in you cars, so that we can see an upfront view of the dashboard and wheel. It would give us more of a feel for what the car looks like. keep up with the good content, loving the vids atm

I love hot hatches this a45 sounds really cool but between this and rs3,the rs3 comes out on top on all levels,looks especially.another top video Paul.
RS3 is great until you introduce corners, under steer city, go watch the countless reviews that say the same. There's even an auto express comparison with Golf R, which beats it around a track!
+theRappinSpree yes your right mate just for me personally I love the Audi I currently drive the 2011 s3 sport back and have owned st3 focus and it handled better than the Audi but I don't know why just love the Audi.

With the sport trim it'd be the only Euro I'd consider grabbing, every other Euro is oldman spec.
I can't stand that camera angle you're always using. It just shows your face and the window. This is supposed to be car channel and especially in a Mercedes you should be able to show the interior of the car by putting the camera on the rear window...

Paul I agree with you, no middle ground, it's pointless. All or nothing, mate! Also, I would totally take the hot hatch as well! I drive a Ford Focus ST (I live in the states). I really want the Focus RS, but they were all sold out by the time I went to Ford to try to order one :(

btw it has 381 bhp and with a small tune, you're looking at 400-450hp
i heard this passing by (not exactly this, maybe yes.) so i saw it accelerate out of a parking spot. it was SUPER loud. then the exhausts popped.
I like the look of the A-class, but what you said about rear-seat legroom is totally not true imo. Our Twingo diesel (note that it has the same engine as the A180CDI) has more legroom than the A-class. In the Twingo I sit behind myself comfortably (I'm 192cm/6ft3), in the A-class I do not.

Seems to me that this car suits you better, for your age etc. Mercedes AMG's are the european equivalent of muscle cars nowadays. The A45 AMG in particular seems so composed, it's like the perfect car for young professionals who are also petrol heads. Probably the best "hot hatchback" for me right now.

Power wise, the RS3, Golf R, and the new Focus RS are the only rivals in this area. I'm from the us so I don't know about the other makes and models. But, I do know that the 135m sport BMW is more of a A250 rival
Good video , but get some different shots. Also , i would've loved to get an outside tour around the car to see the exhaust because that's basically the best part of an amg.
Renault Megane RS is awesome and the recently introduced Focus RS ... and the BMW M2 are all competitors even though the M2 is not a hatchback. If I was in the market for a hot hatch I would rather look at these three because I have had such a bad Mercedes experience. That being said I am more into sporty 2-siter and a non-sporty 200-250bhp large family car (BMW 5 series, E class, Jag .... or larger) because I drive like an old man when I have passengers. But that is just me.
you should try out the new ford focus RS! It's maybe even be better than the Merc to drive. but the interior i must say looks better on the Merc... But it's all about the driving experience i think..

You are both wrong. The montune focus rs which is the only FORD approved aftermarket kit (keep your warranty) for a £1000 takes it up 400bhp+. Also lets not forget a fully loaded focus rs is 35,000. A fully loaded a45 is 52,000....
+Taylor40667 there are upgrades to take the Merc over 400bhp aswell.......has the Mountune kit been announced for the new RS? Defo a must have if they are doing it.
