  • It's time for the A45S' first service! We take the car today to EST Performance, and we delve into some of the maintenance costs of this car which, dare I say it, are quite surprising...

    Unfortunate very common on the pollen filters being fitted incorrectly, see it all to often, think apprentices must fit them 😂 please tell me the oil was .71 oil as thats critical, loving the videos!

    Still can’t believe people think £250 for a quick oil change that takes 30 mins is good value. Mental what people pay

      Literally. £70 to do the oil and pollen filter yourself on your drive

    • @papshank73
      @papshank73 Год назад +7

      I’m pretty sure these A45s take 8.5 litres of oil (tho he did say 5 in the vid). Merc oem oil at £70 for 5 ltr......if it’s 8.5 then about £120 just for oil. 1 hour labour for that and the filter......£250 sounds about right, no?

    • @seanpaul3050
      @seanpaul3050 Год назад +3

      Oil change. Do yourself. Save £200 towards something else.
      You did say it was a long drive to EST. So saving on petrol too.

    • @suhail1200
      @suhail1200 Год назад +4

      That's correct 8.5l and £70 for 5 litres. £250 ain't bad when u look at supercars charging £1000 for it 😂

    UK is just behind on the tuning game. There is tuners In Russia and USA with stage 2/+ making 550-600 bhp stock turbo on these. Doing 1/4 mile in 10.2-10.7s.

      The Merc service plan is very worthwhile and can actually work out cheaper than a specialist over the course of a few services. When you also factor in the fact that you also get an MOT and the highest level of breakdown cover it's not expensive when you contrast it against the car you have. My A35 had the common cylinder head fault and as I have full dealer service history, Mercedes breakdown came out and I was allowed to jump wait times, getting my car at their workshop the very next day. They also delivered a brand new GLA to my home, which I drove for 10 days whilst mine had the redesigned head fitted under the extended warranty cover.
      I extensively researched about performing all the routine services myself and managed to obtain actual workshop service checklists, oil grade charts for various engines and so on. What I learnt was that very specific oils, especially for the differentials are used and if you have the pan roof, there's even a special lubricant and grease that must be used.
      When you think of how much money you've spent on buying such a car, why take the risk of screwing something up. Modern cars are far too finicky, requiring exact parts and maintenance regimes to keep operating optimally.
