I don’t get it. Sure it’s in the early stages still but the game feels like a PlayStation 3 game at best. The graphics aren’t great, the lag is killer, like I get it’s a small party that made it but Ubisoft should’ve done better if they were gonna attach their name to it. Literally Rainbow which is 8 years in at this point has better gameplay. I think people should’ve waited to call this the cod killer ngl I don’t see it doing that much. Movement and weaponry is okay don’t get me wrong when you get used to it, it has potential, I just think again they should’ve done better to make sure this game was as clean as possible by release. We could’ve waited a little bit longer if they needed time.
Theyll fix it up in updates. Pretty sure Ubisoft doesn't want to pull in all of it fans from R6 series and wants to try a new ip. I really hated xdefiant i actually deleted it 6 times with less than 1hrs of play time and like 6 days ago i downloaded it again and been playing it ever since. Its still really trash and definitely a 5/10 game right now but it could have a bigger comeback than fallout 76 and BF2042. It’ll be awhile before the game dies down and season one isn’t even out yet. We’re still in preseason with a ton of content missing that will be added in 30 days. This isn’t the finals.

It’s even better for people like me who actually enjoy Ubisoft games. I’ve always been a big fan of splinter cell and the ghost recon games so it’s cool to see maps from those games and characters designed from those worlds

If you notice recent trends in Cod, they've just been catering to nostalgia. In current Warzone, they're pretty much slowly making it like the original Warzone. As for Multiplayer, they've brought in maps from the original MW games. But it is ridiculous seeing stupid skins that just don't belong in a shooter game (Nicky Minaj) lol.

Well we kinda did. Black ops had a good campaign and zombies. Black ops 2 had a top tier campaign and multiplayer. Black ops 3 had a top tier zombies experience that many (including myself) still play to this day. At least 4000 people are playing it right now.

Last 2 times they tried to innovate they made COD Advanced Warfare and battle royal mode after PUBG success. They had heavy backlash for staying on a new mechanic (wall running and jetpacks) for 3 years and they changed it ever since then. All they needed to do was release a few story based missions and a camo grind with battle pass for a year. It didn't matter if the next one is ready it will be released on time

@ToniToniChopaaa game has been out for less than a week. With a full release comes real expectations, everyone's only stroking it right now cause it's new. Eventually, the clunky movement, small weapon selection, and boring abilities are gonna catch up, and their once every 8 months update isn't gonna be enough. People were saying The Finals was a CoD competitor. Then the full release came, everyone got bored, and they couldn't keep up, now I haven't heard nothing about that game in months.

L take.... Black ops 4 was terrible... You had the specialists for noobs (which were basically buzz kills for good players) to end your kill streak. And most lobbies felt like halo because of the 150 health, players would camp and run together and it would be almost impossible to beat them because you need to do 300+ damage instead of the 200 that it has been in every other game... And if you went up against 3 players you would have to do 450+ damage
That wasn’t innovating, that was copying Titanfall’s existing innovations but not as good as Titanfall already had. That’s why the “future” era of CoD was such a big falling off point for a lot of people. It was like: “I can play CoD’s attempt at copying Titanfall’s homework… or I can just play Titanfall 2”. MW2019 DID innovate with the realism, but within a couple years the community (again) got tired of it and wanted a return to BO2 gameplay. The problem with “innovation” on a yearly release cycle is that it’s only innovative once and then it’s gets stale again quickly. I always thought back in the day at the height of CoD’s “future fatigue” that the easy solution would be a true 3 year cycle. Infinity Ward drops a grounded modern game, Treyarch drops a historical game, Sledgehammer drops a future game or some other wildcard, repeat. 3 DIFFERENT variations of the CoD formula would give each dev team time to actually innovate and improve their own branch of CoD rather than cloning what the other dev did the previous year. We ALMOST got sort of variety for a few years with WW2 being followed by BO4 and then MW19, then by Cold War and Vanguard. But too many of the games were mid with botched launches and since 2020 the new games effectively ended up being $70 content packs for WZ. So now we’re back to MW/BO fatigue with literally two identical MW games in a row + a Black Ops game that will almost certainly be a reskin again. There is no “winning” for anyone in this situation bc the franchise is bloated and exhausted beyond repair, 20 games in, and ideally it just needs to end for a while and let people move onto something new, so that if there’s ever a CoD reboot after a few years of no CoD it’ll be an actual revival instead of a temporary gimmick. Only thing that’ll stop the complaining is time for the community to rest and reflect on CoD in hindsight to decide what was ACTUALLY fun about CoD in the first place so we can ask for that again instead of just consuming slop and vaguely complaining about “something” not being right. 😂

The only new games within the last 5 years to stay relevant till now are Valorant, Genshin, and *_maybe_* just *_maybe_* Overwatch 2.
I was geniunely surprised at how XDefiant actually turned out considering its ubisoft behind it. Not only is the SBMM-free very fun, but also the game is optimised pretty well, running smoothly on low end PCs.
COD tried ‘innovating’ and people hated it with a clamour to return to boots on the ground. I have no idea what COD fans want beyond reasonable pricing.
Just because the fans want something new doesn’t mean they are required to like whatever new thing gets put out. Jetpacks were an extremely poor idea because console players are forced to disable cross play to even have a chance. PC players who already had an advantage over them were given an even better one. They had even more movement and tracking someone mid air is infinitely easier on PC than on console. Here’s a thought, instead of making the same call of duty over and over again and putting it out each year, release one title every three years until an idea hits you. Better yet, why not directly reach out to the community and its leading figures (being content creators) and ask what they actually want.

I played Xdefiant last night with my friend. And we are BOTH having so much more fun compared to our MW3 game nights. And while even playing it alone I've been having a blast. It made me realize just how much I was missing from current cod with the lack of sbmm and well balanced maps and weapons. I didn't feel like i had to sweat my ass off every match I played. There was some that gave me a challenge and there was sweatlords and try hards I came across but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as cod has been recently. Cod is actually cooked. That is unless Ubisoft goes and fucks things up with P2W mechanics. Mtx is a given in a f2p game, but if they do shit like add weapons that you can only pay for or add a skin that is just blatantly easier to survive using (Tree skin and Black noir from MW2 for example.) Thats when the game will die.
Well, they innovated, Omni movement is pretty innovative And I like the smaller tweaks they made like making domination points a control zone rather than a point

Personally what I want is more weapon customization I want a weapon customization system like cod has Like infinite possibilities Especially since no other game ever has done it like cod And I really want to see that because I hate the lack of customization in most games Even in xdefiant it's just Barrel, sight ,muzzle, stock But I want more especially since there aren't any visual changes Like all of the barrel mods in xdefiant dolt change a thing about the gun itself The reason I want it is because it will also allow you to easily see what the enemy has and use it to get an advantage

This is really the same news we've been hearing for over 10 years now: "[New FPS game] is the "COD-Slayer." It has X, Y, or Z that makes is so much better than repetitive old COD." It never happens. COD has a fanbase for a reason. Until another studio can replicate the "feel" of COD, then Activision has nothing to worry about. I play a lot of other FPS games on console and PC (Counter Strike, Battlefield, Battlefront, Farcry, XDefiant) which can be fun, but none of them "feel" like COD.

I don’t get it. Sure it’s in the early stages still but the game feels like a PlayStation 3 game at best. The graphics aren’t great, the lag is killer, like I get it’s a small party that made it but Ubisoft should’ve done better if they were gonna attach their name to it. Literally Rainbow which is 8 years in at this point has better gameplay. I think people should’ve waited to call this the cod killer ngl I don’t see it doing that much. Movement and weaponry is okay don’t get me wrong when you get used to it, it has potential, I just think again they should’ve done better to make sure this game was as clean as possible by release. We could’ve waited a little bit longer if they needed time.

I really hated xdefiant i actually deleted it 6 times with less than 1hrs of play time and like 6 days ago i downloaded it again and been playing it ever since. Its still really trash and definitely a 5/10 game right now but it could have a bigger comeback than fallout 76 and BF2042. Nobody wants innovation with COD. They want it how it used to be. Good maps, good killstreaks, good campaign, and consumer friendly.

If you notice recent trends in Cod, they've just been catering to nostalgia. In current Warzone, they're pretty much slowly making it like the original Warzone. Last 2 times they tried to innovate they made COD Advanced Warfare and battle royal mode after PUBG success. They had heavy backlash for staying on a new mechanic (wall running and jetpacks) for 3 years and they changed it ever since then. All they needed to do was release a few story based missions and a camo grind with battle pass for a year. It didn't matter if the next one is ready it will be released on time

Eventually, the clunky movement, small weapon selection, and boring abilities are gonna catch up, and their once every 8 months update isn't gonna be enough. People were saying The Finals was a CoD competitor. Then the full release came, everyone got bored, and they couldn't keep up, now I haven't heard nothing about that game in months.

And if you went up against 3 players you would have to do 450+ damage

That wasn’t innovating, that was copying Titanfall’s existing innovations but not as good as Titanfall already had.
That’s why the “future” era of CoD was such a big falling off point for a lot of people. It was like: “I can play CoD’s attempt at copying Titanfall’s homework… or I can just play Titanfall 2”.
MW2019 DID innovate with the realism, but within a couple years the community (again) got tired of it and wanted a return to BO2 gameplay.
The problem with “innovation” on a yearly release cycle is that it’s only innovative once and then it’s gets stale again quickly.
I always thought back in the day at the height of CoD’s “future fatigue” that the easy solution would be a true 3 year cycle. Infinity Ward drops a grounded modern game, Treyarch drops a historical game, Sledgehammer drops a future game or some other wildcard, repeat. 3 DIFFERENT variations of the CoD formula would give each dev team time to actually innovate and improve their own branch of CoD rather than cloning what the other dev did the previous year.
We ALMOST got sort of variety for a few years with WW2 being followed by BO4 and then MW19, then by Cold War and Vanguard. But too many of the games were mid with botched launches and since 2020 the new games effectively ended up being $70 content packs for WZ. So now we’re back to MW/BO fatigue with literally two identical MW games in a row + a Black Ops game that will almost certainly be a reskin again.
There is no “winning” for anyone in this situation bc the franchise is bloated and exhausted beyond repair, 20 games in, and ideally it just needs to end for a while and let people move onto something new, so that if there’s ever a CoD reboot after a few years of no CoD it’ll be an actual revival instead of a temporary gimmick. Only thing that’ll stop the complaining is time for the community to rest and reflect on CoD in hindsight to decide what was ACTUALLY fun about CoD in the first place so we can ask for that again instead of just consuming slop and vaguely complaining about “something” not being right. 😂

I was geniunely surprised at how XDefiant actually turned out considering its ubisoft behind it. Not only is the SBMM-free very fun, but also the game is optimised pretty well, running smoothly on low end PCs.
So far one of the most consistent Ubisoft releases in years

COD tried ‘innovating’ and people hated it with a clamour to return to boots on the ground. I have no idea what COD fans want beyond reasonable pricing.
Exactly they tried innovating with jetpacks, still the game was going to shit. Cods bad, it's fallen off and it's not getting back on.
Just because the fans want something new doesn’t mean they are required to like whatever new thing gets put out. Jetpacks were an extremely poor idea because console players are forced to disable cross play to even have a chance. PC players who already had an advantage over them were given an even better one. They had even more movement and tracking someone mid air is infinitely easier on PC than on console.
Here’s a thought, instead of making the same call of duty over and over again and putting it out each year, release one title every three years until an idea hits you.
Better yet, why not directly reach out to the community and its leading figures (being content creators) and ask what they actually want.
Because they are terrible on trying to innovate they own game
Releasing a new game almost every year is just a terrible idea for that reason.

Activision still can add whatever they want though. It’s also why there are multiple different cod series like Advanced or Modern Warfare

I played Xdefiant last night with my friend. And we are BOTH having so much more fun compared to our MW3 game nights. And while even playing it alone I've been having a blast.
It made me realize just how much I was missing from current cod with the lack of sbmm and well balanced maps and weapons. I didn't feel like i had to sweat my ass off every match I played. There was some that gave me a challenge and there was sweatlords and try hards I came across but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as cod has been recently.
Cod is actually cooked.
That is unless Ubisoft goes and fucks things up with P2W mechanics. Mtx is a given in a f2p game, but if they do shit like add weapons that you can only pay for or add a skin that is just blatantly easier to survive using (Tree skin and Black noir from MW2 for example.) Thats when the game will die.
Well, they innovated, Omni movement is pretty innovative
And I like the smaller tweaks they made like making domination points a control zone rather than a point
I wish people who make cod see these and realize they should focus way more zombies because that’s going to be a big make or break for a bunch of people including myself like campaign is cool too until you beat it in a couple hours then multiplayer is just multiplayer😂
Xdefiant is decent, but i wish they would add a team death match mode. (Yes, I know it's free, but still)

Personally what I want is more weapon customization
I want a weapon customization system like cod has
Like infinite possibilities
Especially since no other game ever has done it like cod
And I really want to see that because I hate the lack of customization in most games
Even in xdefiant it's just
Barrel, sight ,muzzle, stock
But I want more especially since there aren't any visual changes
Like all of the barrel mods in xdefiant dolt change a thing about the gun itself
The reason I want it is because it will also allow you to easily see what the enemy has and use it to get an advantage

This is really the same news we've been hearing for over 10 years now: "[New FPS game] is the "COD-Slayer." It has X, Y, or Z that makes is so much better than repetitive old COD." It never happens. COD has a fanbase for a reason. Until another studio can replicate the "feel" of COD, then Activision has nothing to worry about. I play a lot of other FPS games on console and PC (Counter Strike, Battlefield, Battlefront, Farcry, XDefiant) which can be fun, but none of them "feel" like COD.
