Hey Kai, do you know where Lok is hiking at 8:40? I used to live on Lantau Island and remember hiking along that same trail before. I kid you not, a pidgin (or seagull, I'm not an avian expert) bio-bombed my shoulder right next to that pagoda. Would like to go hiking again in HK but I have a hard time remembering where the good trails are.
When it warned about poor connection and asked to adjust the antenna, you should have tried to rotate one of the transmitter antennae so the two are at 90 degrees from each other. Doing so increases the diversity of the overall antenna system, which can reduce weak spots due to multipath interferences. Also, if this radio system, uses 2.4GHz radio frequency, the wave are absorbed by water: you might get better range flying over dry land (I realize this might be hard to find in Honk Kong) as more RF energy can be reflected from the ground back to the drone.

I almost grabbed a Spark for Ecuador vlog channel, and I'm glad I waited. It seems like you really get a lot more in a package nearly as small. The only reason to buy a Spark in 2018 is the price, they can be had with huge discounts right now!
iPhonedo people need to leave the mavic air in 4k not change it to 2.7 and as for range that's only in an open field otherwise the range sucks on the mavic air

hey lok, is it true 2.4ghz wifi has longer range then 5.8ghz? maybe thats why your range was kind of short? from my understanding the 5.8ghz is just a faster transmission rate, but has less range.

I wish they would make a cellular version that you could connect to your phone via your cellular provider... Idk if that's possible necessarily, but it would be cool.
A bit pricey but then again not bad for a company with next to no real competition. Also the 'fly more' pack seems like an ok deal with 3x batteries, 6x spare propeller pairs and some other minor stuff for 1.9K more then just the Mavic Air. (Depends on how much the batteries costs though)

basically an improved Spark - foldable arms and rearward sensor. Wouldn't surprise me chose the Mavic name for popualrity instead of "spark 2".

ive got over 2km on 5ghz on my spark which is the same transmitter and reciever effectively :) just had one of those reflectors in FCC mode enabled.

In your flights over water, you were using 5.8ghz. You probably wouldn't have any any connection issues at that range using 2.4ghz.
