You can really tell the the voice directors (and the actors for sure) cared a lot about making the voices as similar as possible in both languages. It’s super cool to see how much work goes into portraying these characters so that no matter where you are they’re depicted the same way.
Actually, I d rather add that, they did a great job making sure they were the same, yet DISTINCT enough to allow interpretation of the character to carry through well. The reason I say this is because SF5 tried to make them as similar as possible as well. However, 6 did it much better, while also letting the actors flex their talent to give life to the characters
@@axelwust9376 agreed! While they are similar in timbre and sound alone, the interpretations by each of the actors is really what makes the character. @garrettaldridge549 No yeah, it's exactly that. The reality, you would rarely find two people who sound the same, but they focused on what they can carry over that feels like it's part of the character, then added elements that are unique to their actor and the English language. Essentially, it's quote a bit of work, but the end result is that you can register exactly who the characters are by their voice, including some smaller things (Marisa being spirited yet elegant, Lily having strong warrior elements yet is still a kid, JP being double faced a lot of the time). As much as I enjoy the voices, I am a bit upset about replacing the VAs for Guile, Ken and Chun li. Respectively I love each of their voices since SF 4, so it’s sucks they got replaced. I do enjoy Ray Chase though.
The Fire Emblem and Persona erasure is real here. For some reason it has Cherami Leigh's past work for a recent side character rather than the larger stuff she's done as a lead such as A2 in Nier Automata and V in Cyberpunk, both of which she was goddamn incredible in.
@@MarkH Compared to being the title character (or one of them in the case of Nier), and both being major titles themselves, it's still a bit more significant role than being a supporting character--even in a mainline Zelda game. I'm willing to bet she's gotten quite a bit more out of playing title character V in Cyberpunk (playing opposite to Keanu Reeves, and more so with the Phantom Liberty expansion coming out in a few months) than the queen who is a supporting character in Zelda.
Stephen Fu would make a great Ichigo Kurosaki. When I first heard Jamie's voice I totally thought it was Johnny Bosch. Found out it wasn't and it intrigued me so much more had it been Johnny. Shout out to Aleks too for making me a Luke believer as well.
Both versions are awesome in their own way. One that stands out is Juri, for me, as the English version sounds more like a maniac. I also enjoyed JP's English voice as it reminded me of the late Christopher Lee a bit. (This one is a bit lighter in tone than Mr. Lee, but they had similar style of speech) I also like the different accents from characters like Cammy, Marisa, Zangief, etc. in English. I cannot tell if in Japanese they actually sound like say a Russian native speaking in Japanese vs the English voice where it sounds like a Russian speaking in English, for instance. The only thing I wish is that they would give you the option to choose the between the English and Japanese voices but in a per character manner, like they did in SF4. Right now you can only choose one option for all, unless I haven't figured out how to do this change. :/

@@thephantomthievesofhearts4388 yeah i know, but i don't know wally wingerts also voiced modok in marvel tv series/cartoon,i know he voiced modok in MVC3 and MVCI
Juri VA Eri Kitamura is super pretty.
Her English VA though 😰
The announcer is amazing!!! I like the voice actors and hope they will bring back Karen Strassman once Poison joins the roster
See I thought the announcer lacked, but only a bit. Good foundation but I think he needed a little something. Just thinking back to MK II and the slight whisper on Round 1/2 how big that was.
They aren't bringing her back are they? I hate stripper characters
@@KCAssassin98 She's not a stripper?
@@KCAssassin98 it is on you! I mean I hate Zangief yet he is always around
I'd love for her to come back!
I'm happy Jessica is juri again ❤😊
Ok, so Allegra Clark is totally the GOAT.
She has also voiced Shamir and Dorothea from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, as well as Penance from Arknights. She is no stranger to using Italian accents in her work, if Penance is anyone to go by.
... she personally won my heart with Shamir.
... and found it so funny why I loved Marisa in this game after finding out.
Ah yes
Sugita has been casted twice as fighting game villain. JP in Street Fighter 6 and Asuka R. Kreuz in Guilty Gear Strive
Fun fact :
Sugita also voiced Ragna The Bloodedge, another ArcSys game. So it's not a new topic if ArcSys make a new BlazBlue, the "final boss" voiced by Nakata Joji (Sol Badguy) since both of them swap roles
Another fact of Sugita, originally he auditioned for Luke but Capcom lead to his role as JP instead. However, I’m just happy that I’m hearing Joseph Joestar
JP’s Japanese VA is mind blowing
When did you heard Sugita voicing An Gramps Joseph Joestar, whom the late Ishizuka Unshō took over the role.
Manon is female V from Cyberpunk? Wow!
My older sister loves Cyberpunk and she was surprised with the fact too
The JP ones are great but majority of the EN voices just simply fit the character for me
I feel the same, the English voice cast is a highlight for me. The JP cast is professional and amazing at what they do but the ENG cast is more authentic to the characters in vast majority.
Accent = fit lol
they sound average at best, except juri that just sucks
@@RunehearthCL average weeb
@@RunehearthCL I hope you do realize that for native Japanese speakers the JP VAs could also sound "average at best"? Lol
@@blueperseverance3912 It's a historical fact, so it's fine, is it really so?
What do you think about whitewashing so many Asian main characters like Ryu, Ken and Juri?
It's honestly silly to apply something like that to a game or a movie and think you've done a good job.
It's abnormal to apply race to voice actors.
Wow, the Japanese female voice actors are so beautiful.
I love Manon, Marisa e Zangief accent in English voice 💛 hihi
I always appreciate each accents VAs have. They add so much compared to original.
You forgot the roles of Dorothea from Fire Emblem Three Houses for Allegra Clark, Roy from Fire Emblem The Binding Blade since Heroes for Ray Chase, Makoto Nijima from Persona 5 for Cherami Leigh, and Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening (Japanese voice) and Yusuke from Persona 5 (Japanese voice) for Tomokazu Sugita.
Two of Zhongli's actors are in this game, XD. And both of the Gammas from Dragonball are in here in English. I love "small world" moments like that.
Seriously, though, is this the first time Keith Silverstein has voiced Dhalsim? I don't think it was him in SFIV or V, but i could be wrong.
Keith Silverstein voiced another Street Fighter character in the past
Yeah, he's new to the role.
@@cailieisidro5758 The only voice he did before SF6 was a few lines as Gouken during a flashback scene from one of SFV's character stories.
@@BronzeAgePepper I still count that as a Street Fighter voice role but yeah I forgot the other character he provided his voice to
Kimberly is literally voiced by two of the Tengen's Wives in different dubs.
Caitlin Glass has also been Cammy since SF4.
For some reason it has Cherami Leigh's past work for a recent side character rather than the larger stuff she's done as a lead such as A2 in Nier Automata and V in Cyberpunk, both of which she was goddamn incredible in.
I mean, Sonia's a pretty important character and a mainline Zelda game is quite a significant role
@@MarkH Compared to being the title character (or one of them in the case of Nier), and both being major titles themselves, it's still a bit more significant role than being a supporting character--even in a mainline Zelda game. I'm willing to bet she's gotten quite a bit more out of playing title character V in Cyberpunk (playing opposite to Keanu Reeves, and more so with the Phantom Liberty expansion coming out in a few months) than the queen who is a supporting character in Zelda.
imagine skin mods with the VAs' famous anime characters. gintoki vs kagura, chrollo vs kurapika...
I cant believe they got Cherami Leigh to VA this game. I knew I heard some Makoto from Persona 5 whenever I beat up Manon.
I haven't played the full version but that will be the same me but for the Imagined (Fortnite)
Its crazy how much Peter Beckman has improved with Zangief since 4
Always love Juri's english voice.
In SFV I thought the Japanese one was on par, but in 6 English is so much better it's no contest
@@anima94 I think the English VA for Juri is a perfect fit. I don't think the Japanese VA is lacking necessarily but sometimes a glove fits.
Juri's eng VA felt like the original
@@anima94 Your self-praise is really disgusting...really...
@@brandongao2503 no,english juli looked like a drunk middle aged woman
Stephen Fu would make a great Ichigo Kurosaki. When I first heard Jamie's voice I totally thought it was Johnny Bosch. Found out it wasn't and it intrigued me so much more had it been Johnny. Shout out to Aleks too for making me a Luke believer as well.
We're onlike our 3rd or fourth "Johnny soundalike" after Micah Solusod and AJ Beckles
Yuji kishi has been ken for like 24 years lololol epicly
That is awesome since Third Strike which Street Fighter 6 feels
All I know the female seiyuus look really pretty, thanks for the info
Eri is Juri in bone, flesh and voice.
Same pale skin tone, similar teeth, eyes, its crazy! They probably just saw her and gave her the job, then just hoped she could do it.
As expected, the female Japanese actors are all beautiful ❤
Both versions are awesome in their own way.
One that stands out is Juri, for me, as the English version sounds more like a maniac.
I also enjoyed JP's English voice as it reminded me of the late Christopher Lee a bit. (This one is a bit lighter in tone than Mr. Lee, but they had similar style of speech)
I also like the different accents from characters like Cammy, Marisa, Zangief, etc.
1:22 she has a seductive tone and it fit the character perfectly!
Hiroki Takahashi also voiced Joey wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh too.
I'm amused that there are two Gintama characters in this game. Gintoki=JP. Kagura=Lily.
I was actually up set that they didn't put Kagura in her credits, but then again, I didn't realize who she played in FMA either.
@@hakageryu-hz7jz I think she's also Kiryu's daughter.
Someone should draw JP and Lilly dressed as Gintoki and Kagura or Gintoki and Kagura dressed as JP and Lily
Utsuro=Juri
Ensho=Luke
Kouro=Guile
Unosuke&Syachi=zangief
kyubei yagyu=ChunLi

Aleks Le, English voice of Luke, also voiced the Nightmarionne (FNaF: Ultimate Custom Night) and will be the voice of ENA (Shopkeeper) in ENA: Dream BBQ.
Oh shit.....kurapika been throwing spiral arrows all this time and I never knew this?!?

I never noticed zeno robinson was dee jay man. That’s a good va right there lol
Keith Silverstein is also the voice of Torbjörn from Overwatch, really talented dude
Yūji Kishi is great voice actor.
he is a former Toku actor, the man behind Red Racer (Kyosuke Jinnai) from Gekisou Sentai Carranger.
@@tenjoutengeone And that fact change he is a great voice actor despite being not that famous ?
Zeno Robinson has really been getting work. Not main character roles yet, but one day...
I think he'd make a great Johnny Joestar
didn't he voice tai in the new digimon cartoon?
This dude at 0:47 was Red Racer from Carranger! That's why he looked so familiar
I need a movie around that last jawn w/ the cake taking the chair.
This was meant for another video comment thread. If it fits here so be it!
I cannot believe that Dhalzim has the same VA as Human Unit Never Killed.
Also, Tomoaki Maeno, more relevant to FGs, is Kyo Kusanagi since KOF XIV
So English Zhongli is Dhalsim and JPN Zhongli is Luke. XD
Wally sounds completely different from the Riddler, wow!
Chun-Li being Suki is actually so perfect.
Her being Riza Hawkeye makes it even more perfect.
No wonder i love hearing Maria's voice when playing as her. I get to hear my girl Beidou every day.
Good to see gohan kept up with his trainings in this world he's even got a mini kamehameha now that's progress
I usually had Ryu in Japanese and Ken in English, but that was only because of Reuben Langdon as Ken
