Great video Shimmy. Another method especially for new stores is to message Etsy support as soon as you have opened your store, asking them if you have done every thing correctly during the store opening process.
My Etsy store was suspended last week after 4 years with 5 stars review / almost 5,000 sales !!! I am moving to Ebay and Amazon !!! Very unhappy about Etsy !!
You can't just give up on it like that. Am an expert in this field of reinstating suspended Etsy account, of you don't mind i can help you to reinstate your suspended Etsy account

I left an Instagram comment asking if they can provide a link for a UK callback option and they hid it within an hour. I viewed the account from another Instagram account and my comment was removed. All I did was create an account and got an immediate suspension. Now they don’t give me a call back option and hide my comments instead of responding. I’ve never witnessed customer service like it. I didn’t even get to list a product. No reason nothing.
Thing is, Etsy doesn't want the reputation they've gained as a place to be milked. Their 2 obsessions this year are gifting and quality sellers. They call it 'the skill or the will'. Basically if you're not willing to pay $15 and then jump through some appeal hoops for a week to get your shop up and running, they don't want you. There are suspensions happening for both old and new shops right now - older shops look to be tripped by shipping late, and the new shops usually get shut after the first sale. 99.9% of the new shops I've seen closed are POD. If you're new, do NOT list your Printify stuff as handmade by you. List it as 'another company>finished product>made to order' and then add your production partner. Don't use AI images, write your own descriptions, design your own art (they have image matching tech now), finish setting up your shop with About page, etc. Etsy has bots running everything now, if you get enough red crosses on their lil checklists, you're out.
I’m in the same boat, I’m still gonna try cause I don’t have a following big enough to warrant making a Shopify account but it does make me nervous! I wish you good luck though! 🙂
Totally agree. Etsy seems to be a complete mess. All I hear is bad reviews. Why put all the time and effort into to be suspended with no feedback. So much for artificial intelligence.
this situation is so frustrating I have just made my first listing and they hit me with this suspension for absolutely no reason I have just done what you told us in the video and I hope i will get my shop back
This is why I teach people to not put all their eggs in one basket. Multiple income streams can save someone who's been suspended on Etsy! Shopify is also my preference. There is a bit more work and overhead with ads and such but I believe an Etsy suspension doesn't need to be the end of the road! Create a new road or 2 or 5! Thank you for this video! Your suggestions are quite helpful for anyone who has been suspended by Etsy!
Hi Shimmy - you're far too genteel. I was suspended the same day I opened my shop. I went through multiple appeals and had a chat with a lady there who was no help. So I went to my government consumer regulators - 3 of them. They were no good. Then I went to the US Better Business Bureau and provided them all the correspondence I had had with Etsy - unfortunately I had to pretend to be American! They sent an email to Etsy inside 2 hours. My suspension was lifted inside 10 days - others I’m aware of were restored inside 1 day. Nobody fucks around with US regulators - although in fact, the BBB is not part of the US government. Give them a $20 donation at the end of it, voluntarily
I got suspended 2 months after opening, immediately appealed and within 12 hours got the same negative response from a 'real person' as in Shimmy’s video. Two weeks later I noticed a message in Shop Manager asking me to file a new appeal which I did. Etsy said they would make a decision within two weeks but after 2 weeks there was no action taken by Etsy and a message appeared in Shop manager asking me to submit a new appeal again. This has happened THREE TIMES now and when I email Etsy seller ‘support’ I don’t get a reply. Has this happened to anyone else?
No offense at all! But tbh, because you didn't mention anything about your etsy shop it just gives the feel that your shop may have been too much $ making rather than a handmade feel, which etsy does not like. They don't want shops that take a short time whipping out graphics & doing POD. They actually want artists & handmade stuff. That doesn't mean you broke any etsy rules. It's just that their AI or whatever they use didn't like what it saw. So if you push hard for an appeal then there's a chance a human will help out. Just my thoughts. BTW I agree this is so wrong of etsy. IMO it is stealing!
With this continually happening, it’s good to have a backup. Is posting a video on how to get accepted my Amazon something you’d consider making? I know that you really like Shopify, but most people don’t have a huge following to drive traffic or the money to pay for the amount it would cost for Ads to make it a viable alternative.
I don’t think there’s a magic way to getting accepted on Amazon… that’s why I haven’t made a recent video on it. It’s massively down to luck which is very frustrating
@@shimmymorris1 I understand it’s not a magic pill that can be handed out, but there is a process and a format from what I remember hearing. From the steps to take, to the way someone should structure their letter to Amazon. Like the things to make sure you include in your letter, as well as the things to avoid saying. That sort of thing.
been on Etsy since late 2019--I was suspended in the middle of night. I appealed and heard back tonight that it's still wrong. Not sure 100% why. they never tell you completely. I will keep trying. I've enjoyed Etsy, but the uncertainty many of us face is terrible. I have some POD items too.
My shop is over 1 year old, & this month it was finally starting to pick up good sales. Then I got suspended. I got the exact same "human" response less than 12 hours after my appeal. I only sell digital products which I completely make myself. No IP infringement, No assets from Creative Fabrica, nothing like that. I've been cautious to avoid breaking any rules, yet I still got a suspension. This happened 9 Days ago right after all the big Etsy changes. I hope it's just been a mistake like many others. But even if I've somehow missed some small detail such as forgetting to include certain information to my listings ( for example ), is a permanent suspension right away really justified? Would you have any other advice? Thank you for your video
I got suspended after around a month and 10+ sales (5 star review avg). I appealed and they immediately reinstated my account saying it had been an error. I got lucky I guess! Thanks for the vid :)
I'm not only a somewhat new seller on Etsy but I also shop on Etsy. I wonder if they've thought about that. They could be suspending sellers who are also customers. I don't want to lose my trust in Etsy but, if they don't fix this then they will continue to lose both customers and sellers.
That's actually a really good point. They're cutting off so many customers as well. They're a hot mess. They need to take notes from Amazon if they're trying to compete. Amazon would never cut off their customers.
