I am a 10 grade student....who is indian and I had this chapter probability...well I was able to to handle the math part very well but was having difficulty with the name of cards....since in indian tradition we hv over a thousand games in playing cards and hv diff words for each card....finally after watching this video my struggle is over....now I know all english words of cards...

This is such a great video that I know the vocabulary and watched it anyway. I had promised to make a video about it in Portuguese and when you talked about the Jack I realized I don't remember the word for this card in my own language. Thanks for the lesson and the inspiration.

Thnx for video! I was a casino dealer. As I remember there are such combinations like ace-king, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, corner, straight flush, royal flush and finally, poker. Actually, it depends on kind of poker: texas hold'em, oasis poker, joker poker

Playing card games is very popular in Germany. One of the most common is called Skat. We are playing it even for money. To solve issues there is even a special court in a town called Altenburg, the Skatgericht.

U gave us knowledge of the playing cards,thanx fr that. Actually I use to get confused in the names of them. I HV learnt their names bt then, when I use to study in ten+2 in maths.

Hi Max! We've got a popular card game called "Truco" here in Uruguay. There's another one called "Conga", this one is very funny, I like it very much. "Bridge" is played here too, but it's more common among upper class elders. I like your videos, I learn a lot. Thanks!

I wish people played cards more often... sadly I think computers/devices are taking over. If I ever go to Uruguay, I'll keep those games in mind!
I hope you visit Uruguay soon! If you do it, I recommend you to come in December/january (in summer). I agree with you, smart phones, tablets, that kind of devices are sadly taking over. That happens mainly in big cities, at least here in Uruguay, small cities still have a relaxed lifestyle and young people gather to eat "asado" (BBQ) and play card games such as "Truco". If you plan to come to visit my country, let me know and I'll suggest you places to go! Bye!
I am not a fan of playing cards, but I am positive they are popular in the whole world. Therefore it is not different here, in Brasil. Of course! Card plays are common part of our life so card sentences are widespread in a language. They are used very often as figurative sentences, without any relation with a real card play.
