Most people that start off golfing, 1) lift up and swing over the ball, or 2) they chunk and hit behind the ball. To hit it clean you have to: hit down on the ball, and 2) pick a spot about an inch in front of the ball and hit straight down on the ball as if your taking a divot in front of the ball and if you hit straight down as if your taking a divot in front of the ball, you'll hit it clean everytime.
