In a galaxy far far away… I attended Super Con in Miami back in September 2021 not knowing I would meet my future husband; who was there to meet the one and only Anakin Skywalker, Hayden Christensen. We met at the con and instantly clicked over our shared interest in Star Wars. Fast forward to October 2023, he has all his groomsmen wearing matching Star Wars crew socks at our wedding. Now in April 2024 we will be welcoming our first baby together, who we, of course, are naming Luke. Our baby shower that just recently passed was Grogu themed, as will be his nursery, that I am so excited to put together now in March before his arrival. So far I have gotten him a Luke Skywalker 3D printed lightsaber rattle for him to play with ❤️ That being said, I would love a lightsaber to be able add to his nursery!
My favorite I had growing up was the ultimate build your own saber that came with different was to configure a telescoping saber and different crystals and everything. I've loved lightsabers so much that I even got one as a gift from my first gf in college. Years later I had to find that build your own set again and got one off eBay (for way more than when my parents got it for me for Christmas lol). My very first "quality" lightsaber is actually expected to arrive this week from legion! I'm super excited to go down this rabbit hole of collecting lightsabers!!! I have two young adopted sisters that I hope to go to Galaxy's Edge one day and build a saber with them
I realze that the contest is probably over, but my favorite memory with a lightsaber is happing right now in the last week and this weekend. My son and I are going on a father son weekend with a few other families and as May 4th falls on this Saturday we decided to do a choreographed lightsaber fight for the other families. These past two weeks me and my son have bonded while duling our lightsabers at full strength, and the culmination will be Saturday when we do it in costume for many others. The memory of this event and the training for it have been priceless and will be a highlight of my son's and my lives.
When I was young, I had a retractable darth vader lightsaber. it was one of those cheap ones that only retract half way into the hilt, but it was the best thing ever. about a year or so later, I was playing on the top bunk of my bed with my lightsaber. Im not sure why, but I eventually left my room, and as im going down the hall, I start dueling my brother who had an obi-wan lightsaber. the fight is intense. in fact its so intense that the tip of my lightsaber simply flew off from the rest of the blade. I was devastated. it was probably the worst thing to ever happen to me.
